A Story of Evil

Chapter 80: The Land

"Jubilee what is the meaning of this!"

Nova and Electra tried attacking right away. Both of them had their attacks disabled and the gravity on the group was multiplied. Pressing them close to the ground.

"It isn't wise to try an attack me you know."

"Yeah? Well so is you teleporting everyone out of the blue." Nova said, making Jubilee sigh as he immediately released the gravity binding on them.

"Calm down, nobody is going to die and this isn't a trap."

"Well what is it then?"

"A demonstration of my point. Just come and follow me." The king walked straight ahead and, although hesitant, everyone did the same.

They were within the same eco park where the intense fight occurred. Jubilee told them that they could bury the dead if they wanted. Knowing that there would be some who would want this. Especially Nova.

The group continued, all while seeing the corpses of the titans. They saw the poor state of the children and how they were rotting. The kings and queens alike paid respect to the departed. With King Nova burning the remains of his son. Or at least, what was left of him. The king only saw the hand of Blaze, recognizing it because of the royal ring. He took it and went his way.

Meanwhile, Jubilee simply took their cores out of their chests. The rulers complained at first but, Jubilee simply assured them that it was necessary. In fact, he made the monarchs hold these for him. The cores of the wind titans. The water titans. And the earth titans.

The exact explanation of what was going on at that moment was still a big blur. The monarchs had no idea what Jubilee wanted to show but, decided to leave it for when he was actually finished. This happened after he extracted the last earth core. Facing the other rulers who were waiting for answers.

"Here's a no brainer for you. Why is it that we cannot create any plantation outside the garden of Eden?" He asked, making some rulers furrow their brows since the answer was obvious. Aqua answered it however; just wanting to get over whatever it was that Jubilee wanted.

"It's because of the land. It's polluted by chaos. Anything that grows on it will simply be a chaos version of the plant. Corrupted and poisonous to humans."

"Correct! That's a brilliant answer Aqua." The queen was not pleased at Jubilee's tone. So she commented.

"Jubilee can you stop treating us like children and just get on with it?"

"Really now. And here I was savoring this moment." Jubilee rubbed his nape.

"If you really want to know then, let's start with the cores." Jubilee took out the first one. An earth core.

"Why is it that we have never successfully harnessed the power of the cores?"

"Jubilee…" Queen Aqua's voice sounded as if she was about to snap.

"Fine. I'll answer it for you."

The cores were dangerous objects specifically because it is difficult to harness their energy. Usually, attempts at controlling it only led to disaster. Since nobody actually had a complete comprehension of it, nor of most technologists they used, the cores have been classified as trash.

All they knew was that there was already a machine powering the electricity of each domain. One which needed a lightning core inside and nothing else. Nobody was able to reverse engineer this because, doing so also entails that one of these machines needed to be destroyed and, none of the domains could afford this.

"Don't you think it's a waste? All this power yet, we aren't even able to maximize them." Jubilee mentioned.

"Of course we do. But it's not like anything can be done about it." Queen Electra replied.

"But what if there is? What if I can show you an alternative truth?" The earth core on Jubilee's hand began glowing in a brown tone. Brighter than normal and, looking as if it is about to self-destruct.

Everyone began stepping back, feeling the immense amount of mana being released. It was breaking. They felt that it was. Soon enough the light was too much to handle and everyone just took cover. But, something weird happened. The light began dimming down and, for some reason, Jubilee was able to contain it. Until the case itself of the core shattered and, a raw sphere of earth mana was on top of Jubilee's hand.

"This is what all of that power looks like. Condensed of course." The air pressure was so strong yet it circulated to a central point. To the same core on Jubilee's hand.

"Jubilee have you gone insane!" Leon screamed.

"Insane huh." Jubilee slammed the core unto the earth. The item oozed out the mana all around in faint light colors as, the ground began trembling.

At that moment, everyone waited for their death. But instead, what they saw was the opposite. Life.

Grass immediately grew from the ground and the color changed into a dark brown tone. The soil was not rough as they touched it with their hands but warm and soft. Fully fertilized just like the land on the champion's plantation.

"That's not all." Jubilee said; a water core on one hand while he held a wind core on the other. He performed the same method on these two. With a bright light completely enveloping them as the pressure of both wind and mana spun violently until it was tamed.

The monarchs weren't scared that time around. They were in awe. Jubilee was radiating so much light that, for a moment, they forgot that he was a king and, thought that he was God.

"Air and water both goes up." Jubilee said, throwing the two objects to the sky. Making a light blue color as fresh rain, potable one, poured down on them and on the land. Sprouts budded from the ground and, the air wasn't toxic anymore.

Stunned by what was happening, the monarchs didn't know what to say anymore.

"This is just a raw demonstration of my abilities. Within the Void domain, I am already perfecting the needed machines in order to regulate all this power. The energy created for clean water, air and land. All of it can last forever."

It was the first time they heard Jubilee that fluent. As if the person they knew was a fake and, the real one was finally in front of them.

"No longer do we need to stay cramped within our domains! We can rebuild society from the ground up and remove the weeds on our foundation. We can own the world again. All I ask is that you follow my command." Completely caught by Jubilee's speech. Aqua responded automatically.

"And what is that?"

"The results of the Culling is undeniable. The Void has already won no matter how you look at it. If we make a unanimous vote of my victory, our agreement will be fulfilled and all domains will be subjected to my rule for one year. Nobody will blame you since it is part of the agreement."

"Jubilee that's too much to ask." Frost commented.

"Is it? Think about it. Within the span of a year, the lands will be cultivated and developed." The way Jubilee said it made things look so easy.

"But the people will never accept that. You know the bias against the Voids."

"Oh I do. But that was before Sol and this Culling." The king furthered. Referring to how the Voids dominated within that five days and, even displayed a Void titan who has some weird powers.

"People can change if you use the right catalysts. We aren't static beings. We are the peak of creation. Evolving consistently in order to survive. You are the ones making that bias, not your people."

The rulers were having a hard time choosing. Not because Jubilee's offer was unreasonable but because, their pride was getting in the way. This was the proper reaction however and, Jubilee knew that it would be difficult for the group to actually accept him. That was why it was crucial for them to step up at that moment. To break out of their cocoons and show that they were capable of metamorphosis.

"It's either you evolve together with my nation. Or you'll die as birds trapped in your cage. Choose."

Although they were in a seeming paradise, there was a dense amount of silence covering them. Aside from the sound of raindrop and, the rustling of the leaves moved by the wind, nobody was making either move or sound.

Until a loud voice finally broke it.

"AHHH TO HELL WITH IT!" What shocked everyone, inducing Jubilee, was the first person to step up. The one

"Nova what are you doing?" Frost asked.

"What am I doing? I'm saving my people of course!" He immediately shifted his sight to the Void king. Meeting him eye to eye as he spoke.

"Jubilee I still hate your guts. There's just something about you that gives me unease. But I will not deprive my people of a better future. Not even if it means making a deal with the devil himself." Nova reached out for Jubilee's hand and, the Void king gladly accepted it.

"Very well said." Jubilee commented.

"Shut up. I'm still keeping an eye on you."

"Oh I bet you will."

This was all the push needed for the monarchs to step up one by one. Making the first step to break from their beliefs and, show that they were capable of metamorphosis.

It was the dawn of a new age.
