Almighty Summoner System

Chapter 48: Gossips

Not long after, Leon or Ban and George arrived in front of the Adventurers Guild.

The Adventurers Guild is open twenty-four seven. However, it was mostly deserted during the night and crowded during the day due to Adventurers flocking to accept a Quest.

"How much?" Ban said with his completely unidentifiable voice while he got off the carriage.

George shivered from his voice and a while later, he finally answered, "That's on me, Sir Leon… I notice that you're completely new to Eagle City, do you perhaps need a guide?"

George decided not to demand the payment. He's afraid that Leon might get offended if he accidentally demands an extravagant amount. After all, he noticed that Leon must be a new guy in the city and was not familiar with the services yet.

George truly believed that Leon was a powerful person from a different city and if worse, he might even be a member of the Dark Guild, in which George was very afraid to offend.

After all, it was not a secret that all members of the Dark Guild are ruthless individuals, they won't hesitate on killing infants just so they could make themselves stronger in the least possible time.

George nervously waited for Leon's reply and his anxiety was also rising in every second.

"Alright, stay here for now then, I need to go somewhere after I'm done with the Adventurers Guild," Ban said before calmly walking towards the Adventurers Guild. However, deep inside him, he was already jumping in joy for dodging that carriage fee that might cost 5 Silver Coins.

When his figure entered the Adventurers Guild, multiple figures could not help but turn their heads towards him. After all, with his get-up and build that oozes the word, shady business, it was not surprising that the Adventurers will take interest in him.

However, after seeing his completely black eyes, they could not help but shiver and turn around in fright.

Suddenly, the atmosphere went cold, and the previously noisy Adventurers Guild suddenly became quiet.

Ban ignored them and walked towards the nearest receptionist table. The Adventurers that formed a line to accept a Quest suddenly dispersed to make way for him.

And with that, Ban arrived calmly in front of the receptionist.

He was calm outside but deep inside him, he was already in chaos. However, he ignored the strange occurrence around him as he thought that it was in line with his plan.

He wanted the identity, Leon to be viewed as someone powerful and extraordinary. He wanted the people of the city to believe that he is not someone to be trifled with.

"Good day, esteemed guest, what can I do for you?" The receptionist smiled calmly. Her expression was completely different from the people around Ban and he felt even more strange.

He wanted to inquire about it but he chose to restrain himself as he does not want to blow up his cover on his first day.

"Help me register as an Adventurer for this city."

When the words escaped his mouth, the people around him shivered in another fright. It was completely silent at that moment and they clearly heard the voice, and yet they could not determine whether it was a male or a female.

However, it's not due to that they felt shivers down their spine, it was because the voice somehow sounded near yer far from them. It's as if it was a whisper and a shout at the same time.

Even the calm receptionist could no longer maintain her smile as it was now replaced with bewilderment.

She stood up from her seat before saying, "Very well! However, due to the esteemed guest's outward appearance, we need to run a couple of tests to ascertain that you are not using horrible means to gain strength, and to confirm that you are not a member of the Dark Guild, is that alright?"

Ban went stiff for a moment and even though he already knew of that process, he could still not help but think about his way of gaining strength.

The System, as well as Greed, could be considered as horrible means if viewed from different angles. He could not help but inquire about it from the System itself.

[No need to worry, Host! The horrible means she was referring to involves mass genocide on humans, tortures, summoning demonic entities to gain strength and etcetera. The Almighty Summoner System does not fall to those categories and Greed was a [Skill] that is only ruthless to your enemies. You can also rest assured about your other [Skills].

If proven wrong, the System is willing to compensate you with a random Lord Grade Beast as a reward!]

Ban felt reassured after reading the System's reply, however, upon arriving at the latter part of the message, he somehow wished that the System be proven wrong. After all, if it was Lord Grade Beast that came directly from the System, it won't be anything weak.

"Alright!" Ban answered the receptionist confidently after a few seconds of silence.

The receptionist nodded her head before turning around, "Very well, follow me!"

Ban followed closely behind and they stopped in front of a huge door.

The receptionist pushed open the door and beckoned Ban to come inside along with her.

Ban stared at the receptionist as he was afraid of coming inside. After all, he only knew from the Adventurers about the tests, and did not hear them talking about this room.

Seeing his hesitation, the receptionist reassured him that the test will just be conducted inside the room and there wont be any danger.

Ban finally came inside the room after a couple of minutes of staring contest with the receptionist.

Meanwhile, back at the lobby of the Adventurers Guild, all the Adventurers released a sigh of relief while wiping the trepidation on their foreheads after Ban's figure disappeared from their view.

"What the hell is that eye?"

"You're asking me, but who should I ask?"

At this moment, only the lowest leveled Adventurers were present as they mostly only accepted low-grade quests for their own safety.

"I don't know about it but that person definitely smells trouble, better not get associated with someone like him."

The Adventurers talked to themselves and in no time at all, the gossips already reached every corner of the city.

"A person wearing an Ant-like mask and donning a maroon-colored coat appeared on the Adventurers Guild to register as an Adventurer."

"The person doesn't have an eye and their voice sounded like a demon."

The gossip became exaggerated from one person to another.

Ban did not know that his plan of letting the whole city know of his existence as someone extraordinary and strong, had already spread even before he showed his strength.
