Chapter 124: Shapeshifter family

"You're looking for Tommy Mikens, right?" Tommy paused, then looked up at Sam. "He resigned six or seven months ago."

"He said he was leaving here, and he didn't tell us where he was going. He has no conscience."

Tommy said without changing his face.

"I heard that the fellow named Mikans has no conscience." Sam said with a smile.

"It's not good for me, I know such a Mikans.

Sorry, I can't help you. "

"It's okay. I think the tires here are pretty good. Maybe I will come back again and get on the road again with a new tire."

"If you come, I will definitely give you a discount."

"Okay, thank you. By the way, my name is Sam, Sam Mallot."

After that, Sam returned to the car, turned the car and continued driving along Highway 79, and soon disappeared.

Inside the tire shop.

Tommy stood by the side of the road and watched. Seeing that Sam was nowhere to be seen, he quickly put down his tools, took off his overalls, jumped into the car and drove in the opposite direction.

Not long after Tommy left, Sam's car turned back. He carefully kept his distance and hung far behind Tommy. Follow the past all the way.

Tommy was very cautious. He didn't drive home immediately. Instead, he walked back and forth between several roads until it got dark. Then he drove into a wilderness and stopped in front of a thatched hut.

Sam parked the car behind and watched Tommy walk into the thatched hut. Seeing no one came out, he hurried to the post box and searched for the letters inside.

Soon, Sam found what he wanted.

"Ms. Melinda Mikens, Mulan, Arkansas"

It was written on a white envelope.

Sam put the letter back, took a deep look at the thatched house, and turned back to the car.

He planned to stay in the car for one night tonight-he didn't live in the car anyway. He waited to see the situation tomorrow, maybe when the people inside were gone, he sneaked in to check it out secretly.

the next day.

Sam woke up from his sleep, and when he opened his eyes, he saw a dry shotgun barrel against his nose. Looking down the barrel of the gun, it was Tommy's slightly green face.

"Don't move."

Tommy yelled tremblingly.

"Get out of the car."

Seeing this person who is most likely his own brother, Sam felt a little bit strange in his heart.

"Should I not move or get out of the car?"

Tommy was taken aback, but he didn't expect the person who followed him to be so bold.

"Get out of the car. Follow me."

Sam did so, but Tommy walked into the thatched cottage with a gun.

This is not much the same as he had imagined last night.

Of course, the situation in the thatched house was different from what he had imagined.

The thatched house is very narrow, and as soon as you enter the door is a dirty sofa. On the sofa is a neatly stacked thin blanket, which seems a bit out of place. There was a table on the opposite side of the sofa. The table was full of wine bottles, and even a lot of wine bottles rolled on the ground. There was a strange smell permeating the whole thatched house. Sam, with his years of deformation experience, could smell it at once. It was laziness.

"Mom, Joe Mikans Mikans!"

Tommy pushed Sam with the barrel of the gun and shouted into it.

"Early morning, what do you shout!"

A woman in pajamas complained about walking out of it, and behind her was a man in underwear. The man carried a wine bottle in his hand, and the wine in it had bottomed out.

"Damn! Who is he?"

"Who are you?"

Sam looked at the two people in front of him with a strange mood.

"I, uh, I'm Sam, Sam Mallot."

"This is the man I told you about, who asked a bunch of strange questions. I found him peeping outside."

Tommy moved out from behind Sam and added.

"Peeping? No, I'm just sleeping in the car." Sam turned his head and said displeasedly, "Put the gun down. I won't hurt you."

"You are in charge of paying off the debt?" the man asked.

"I sent the check yesterday. You can look for it. Our family has no money. Really, I swear to God. What I say is true."

As he said, the man raised his hands while winking at the woman.

"Malot? This surname sounds familiar, have we met?"

The woman ignored the man's glance, she slowly stepped up to the front and looked at Sam, and asked suspiciously.

"I saw it 34 years ago."

The woman exclaimed, her eyes widened and looked at Sam in disbelief.

"Tommy, put the gun down."

"what?"

"Put down the gun!!"

The woman yelled, Tommy curled his lips in dissatisfaction and put down the gun in his hand.

"Really you?"

The woman asked.

"Yes, it's me."

The woman stretched out her hand and gently stroked Sam's face, studying it carefully.

"Who is it? Who is he?"

Tommy interjected and asked.

"He is your brother."

"FUCK!"

Tommy cursed in a low voice, turning around in a circle seeming a little bewildered.

Now that he recognized each other, Sam did not intend to leave immediately. Several people took the seats one by one, and Sam asked the doubts lurking in his heart.

"I was only 16 years old, and your father spent 12 years in jail for some things."

"Because of some unwarranted charges." The man interjected, "I don't even know your existence."

With that, the man sat next to Sam and looked at him with eager eyes, making Sam feel uncomfortable for a while. But he didn't think much about it, only that he was not used to the feeling of "surrounding relatives".

"I don't know what to do. The Mallot family looks good, with money and a house, you should be able to live well. They say they will give you a happy life, did they do it?"

Everyone looked at Sam.

Sam shifted his gaze uncomfortably, staring at the wine bottle on the ground and said, "It's okay before 15 years old."

"What happened when you were 15 years old?"

Tommy asked.

"I think you all know." Sam replied absently, then looked up at Melinda "This is the reason you sent me away? I'm not a normal person, am I?"

"I don't know it will be like that. Your father is a normal person, I thought you would be fine. I pray all day, praying that you can be like him, just an ordinary human."

"Why pray?"

Joe Lee Mickens said dissatisfiedly, and took a sip of wine,

"Child, you are special, you have special abilities, you should be proud of it," Joe Li said with a smile, "There is nothing to be ashamed of, you have to accept yourself."

"Really?" Sam looked at the encouraging smile on the man's face, gradually let go of his defenses, and began to confide his own feelings.

"But it means loneliness to me. I don't even know what I am. Why is this?"

"Sam. I'm like you, it's all because of me. Joe Lee married a shapeshifter wife. He gave birth to a shapeshifter, but he still can't understand the existence of a shapeshifter." Melinda interjected.

"I'm really very, very sorry for letting you go through this alone."

With that, Melinda shed tears.

"I'm sorry too."

Sam said.

At this moment, he was a little relieved. The hatred of being abandoned by his parents since childhood, the disgust of being a stranger, and the hardship of living alone for the past two decades. He kind of likes this kind of warm atmosphere that people understand.

Maybe this is the real home.

Sam said silently in his heart.
