American Fame and Fortune

Chapter 15: Why did humans become extinct?

Chapter 15 Why do humans become extinct?

In the classroom of the Methodist Association’s training center, Elena looked through the training materials issued by the teacher. She knew individual letters and most of the words. When they were combined into sentences, she couldn’t understand what they meant.

The computer software operations explained by the teacher on the podium are similar to those from heaven.

This is a free skills training provided by the Methodist Church and the Methodist Association for believers.

Because free food was distributed at the end of the training, Elena couldn't bear to leave even though she was drowsy.

The food is enough for breakfast tomorrow. Counting that idiot Martin, we can save at least 6 US dollars.

Harris wants to apply for college, even if she goes to a cheap public school, the cost will be high.

These troubles are so complicated that Elena’s head explodes.

Finally made it to the end of the training, Juliet at the next table asked: "Are you going to attend the mutual aid meeting tomorrow afternoon?"

“I haven’t thought about it yet.” Even though Elena’s face was thicker than the wall, she still found it ridiculous.

Juliet was very enthusiastic: "Go, let's go together. Ms. Jennifer will host it tomorrow afternoon and will bring a gift."

Hearing the gift, Elena restrained herself from swearing and said, "I'll think about it again and give you an answer tomorrow morning."

Mutual aid meetings organized by the Methodist Association are held every week.

After receiving the food, Elena came out of the training center. The headlights of the Ford flashed, illuminating the dark night. She ran over and got into the passenger seat.

Martin started the car and turned around to take a look: "There are a lot of good things."

“Of course!” Elena put two large paper bags on the back seat: “Who will listen to these idiotic courses if you don’t hand them out.”

Martin said from the side: “Learn a variety of skills and find a stable job.”

Elena said: “I just want to make money.”

Martin understood her family's situation and said: "I took a job from my boss and I need help. If you do a good job, you will be paid at least $500."

This is an expense calculated separately by the club.

Elena thought about the last time: "Idiot Harris breaks his arm again? I have no problem."

“You don’t have to be so cruel,” Martin said roughly, “Are you familiar with the Methodists?”

Elena shrugged: "Fortunately, they are all extremely conservative people who can speak."

She remembered what Juliet said: "The Methodist Church will have a mutual aid meeting tomorrow. It is said that an important person named Jennifer will host it and will bring gifts. I hope they are not ghostly paper cranes and lucky stars."

Martin thought for a while: "Will you accept the job? If so, go and participate tomorrow."

Elena asked back: "You let me participate in that event?"

Martin laughed and said: "Go ahead and do me a favor. Contact more people and invite them to the club to drink and have fun for free..."

Elena said: "I called Monica. There will be free meals and nightclubs, no need to mobilize."

As Ford drove into the Clayton neighborhood, Martin drove into the backyard of the house and stopped where James was buried.

 The wheels compact the ground.

James didn’t say anything against it, which shows that the two of them did the right thing.    …

At noon, Bruce parked his pickup truck, carried a large pile of newspapers and information, and entered the Beast's House.

Other than the idiot Ivan who was guarding the porch, the only idiot in the club was Martin.

Bruce put things on the ring stage and asked, "Why can you tell me what to do?"

Martin threw him a can of beer, opened another one himself, and said: "This is the difference between smart people and civilized people."

Bruce sat on the stage: "They are all betting on how long it will take for you to be on this stage."

Martin boasted: "I danced very scaryly. With a backflip, the earth exploded on the spot and mankind became extinct."

Bruce drank all the beer and threw the can into the trash can: "For the first time, I discovered that people can be as shameless as you."

"Because you have too little knowledge." Martin also threw away the can and brought two sets of pens and notebooks, one of which was given to Bruce: "Stop being so verbose and do what Boss Martin told you to do."

He took a bunch of newspapers and magazines: "The major print media, radio and television stations in Atlanta all have news hotlines, and prizes are given to collect news. Write down all the corresponding media phone numbers, and Boss Martin will help you make a fortune."

"You can't break the law, we are civilized people!" Bruce complained, but he was not slow in his work and worked quickly.

 …

Northwestern part of the Atlanta metropolitan area, bordering Marietta.

Elena joined Juliet and entered the branch of the Methodist Church.

Coming to the large conference room, seven or eight people sat on chairs and formed a large circle.

Jennifer, who was dressed conservatively, waved to the two of them to come and sit down.

A few minutes later, five more people rushed to the conference room.

Jennifer hosted this chastity mutual aid meeting and said loudly: "You are willing to purify your body and mind and become the glory and pride of your family. I am proud of you!"

She looked around: "So who should we start with?"

There was a girl about twenty years old who stood up first and told her experience.

Juliet followed, and when she sat down, she gave Elena a wink.

Elena was doing some mental construction, avoiding habitual swearing, and stood up slowly. With everyone's encouraging eyes, she said: "I want to say a painful experience, which haunts me like a nightmare. I hope you can help me." Help me purify this unclean memory."

Jennifer smiled warmly: "Child, please speak out boldly."

Elena tried her best to look like she had practiced with Martin, widening her eyes and showing fear: "One night last weekend, my friend and I accidentally entered a bar called the House of Beasts on Saijo Street. Everything there was too crazy..."

She racked her brains to describe the depravity of the House of Beasts and the negative impact it had on the people around her.

At some point, Jennifer took out a pen and notebook and asked: "Saijo Avenue? Home of the Beast?"

Elena said: "Yes."
