Chapter 76: French buyer

Chapter 76 French Buyer

The Savannah Film Program currently does not have an awards unit, but is more about film screenings and artistic exchanges.

Film masters and actors from all over the world will have face-to-face exchanges with students from the School of Art during the film festival.

The "Zombie Gigolo" crew led by Benjamin certainly does not have this qualification.

Although he graduated from the Savannah College of Art, Benjamin has yet to join even a famous alumni.

A large number of promotional booths were set up in the open space between the two theaters on campus. Martin and Catherine, the male and female protagonists of the film, dressed up in the costumes of the film and distributed promotional materials to people coming and going.

Martin’s vampire costume and Catherine’s image of a huntress wearing a leather jacket and carrying a sword attracted many people to come and enter the booth to learn about the film.

“Zombie Gigolo will be shown at the Festival Theater at 7pm.”

At the center of the publicity board, there is an eye-catching propaganda slogan.

Martin, the leading actor, is very active. Every time he distributes a piece of information, he will say to people: "7pm, Festival Theatre, welcome."

The male protagonist worked hard, and the heroine Catherine was too embarrassed to be lazy, and she never stopped talking.

Occasionally when there are few people around, Martin brings two unopened bottles of mineral water and gives one to Catherine.

Catherine took advantage of the opportunity to drink water and said softly: "No matter how much we do, the salary will not increase."

Martin replied with a smile: "We are the hero and heroine. If the film sells well, no one can steal our limelight."

Another person was attracted by the large poster. Martin put down the mineral water, went up to them, and handed over the promotional leaflet.

This man picked up the leaflet and read it carefully.

Martin realized that he was not purely curious and said: "Sir, the film will be screened at the Festival Theater at 7pm. If it is convenient for you, you can come and find out more."

This person pointed to the character on the color page and asked: "Are you the male protagonist? Are you playing a vampire?"

“Yes, I am the male protagonist.” The other party’s accented English sounded very similar to that of Michel Gondry, and he asked tentatively: “Sir, he is French.”

The man nodded: "I am Blanco from France."

Martin invited Blanco to the booth and said as he walked: "You look like someone from the film industry?"

Blanco asked: “Because I’m at the film festival?”

"Your temperament is very similar to that of a French friend of mine." A film practitioner from the same country may be a friend or an enemy. Martin's words were more vague: "He is a film artist who just came here some time ago. I was filming in Georgia, so I was particularly impressed by him.”

Blanco laughed: "You mean Michelle?"

Martin knew the answer as soon as he heard it, and said: "Yes, Director Michel Gondry, I have enjoyed the French cuisine in Atlanta and the specialties of Georgia with him. He is not only a film artist, but also a food appraisal expert." It also has the super high standards of the French.”

The words sounded particularly pleasing to the ear, and Blanco followed Martin into the booth.

Dave, Benjamin and others saw Martin communicating enthusiastically with others and did not leave for the time being.

They were very reassured about Martin.

It was Catherine who had already taken over the reception work.

Kelly Gray, dressed in professional attire, came to the booth with her assistant Ella at this time, and quietly came closer to listen to the conversation between Martin and the two.

"When Michelle left, she invited me to Paris." Martin's eyes revealed longing: "I have always wanted to experience the atmosphere of the city of art and romance up close. Unfortunately, several months have passed and I have never had the chance. "

Blanco was quite polite: "There will definitely be an opportunity. Maybe one day you will go to the Cannes Film Festival."

He thought for a moment, then took out his business card and handed it to Martin: "Festival Theater at seven o'clock in the evening, right?"

Martin took the business card and quickly glanced at it. It turned out to be the business manager of Europa Film Company. "Yes, seven o'clock in the evening." He smiled and said, "Please wait a moment."

Martin brought an official invitation letter and handed it to Blanco with both hands: "It would be a great honor for you to come."

Blanco took the invitation and shook hands with Martin before saying goodbye and leaving.

Not far from the exhibition area, he found a secluded place. He took out his mobile phone, dialed Michelle's number, said hello and said: "I'm in Savannah, and I just met an interesting person who said he was your friend. An actor, Atlanta's Martin Davis."

Michel Gondry over there said: "We are indeed friends, he is a very nice person, his acting skills are very good, and he yearns for France very much."

Blanco received many invitations today. After finishing the phone call with Michel Gondry, he just thought about it for a moment and decided to watch the movie "Zombie Gigolo" that night.

In the exhibition area, Kelly came over and asked: "Important person?"

Martin gave her his business card: "The buyer of Europa Film Company, judging from what he said, is a fellow countryman and friend of Michel Gondry."

Kelly immediately thought: "Have you used your friendship with Michel Gondry?"

Martin said: "It should work, I think he should attend the screening tonight,

Kelly turned to Ella and said: "Arrange the VIP seats."

 Ella responded.

Kelly said to Martin again: "With one more buyer, there is more hope of selling."

Martin shook Kelly's hand quietly, with unconcealed concern in his voice: "Don't put too much pressure on yourself, you did a great job."

Kelly turned over her hand and pinched his fingers: "You have many ideas, give me a good idea."

Martin threw up his hands helplessly: "Next, we have to fight hard. My bad idea will only delay things and mess things up."

Although he has been studying film sales and marketing in the United States for some time, Martin feels that he only has a superficial understanding of it, and it is better to say less about the specific sales.

In the afternoon, Sofia and Vincent rushed over from Atlanta to prepare for the screening.

Kelly Gray just greeted Sophia and Vincent politely and didn't make much contact.

Coming with us were all the members of the Buffalo House Club.

Bruce said to Martin: "The boss is closing the door specially today and let us watch a movie together."

Hart came over and said, "Old Bu, this movie has nothing to do with you. I asked you to go up and show your face, but you didn't listen."

Bruce said: "I'm a guy who does the dirty work."

Hart understood what he meant and asked Martin: "Dad Martin, have you seen the sample film? How did I perform?"

Martin said: "He died a miserable death, being beaten up by Catherine."

At five o'clock, Sofia generously invited all the crew to have a meal at a nearby luxurious buffet restaurant.

The dinner was very sumptuous, and Martin only tasted a little.

The crew of the screening was about to go on stage, so he specially rented a dress, and it fit him perfectly.

It is also a compulsory course for actors attending important occasions to control their diet in advance.
