American Fame and Fortune

Chapter 96: Lao Bu is here

Chapter 96 Here comes Lao Bu

The door to the audition room opened and closed, and Adrian stood in front of the camera. His dark brown, almost black, medium-long hair had been specially styled, and he was messy with a hint of yuppie.

Mary-Gail dislikes this hairstyle as much as she disliked the Beatles when she was young.

But she remained calm and said, "Let's get started."

Adrian and his assistant began to play together.

Susan Levine remembers this actor, and Downey mentioned it to her a few times.

The acting skills are okay, above the standard, but the quality is determined by comparison. Compared with Martin Davis, who had the best performance before, it is obviously a notch lower.

 The audition ended soon.

After the actor left, Susan asked again as usual: "How is he?"

Mary doesn't like it in her heart, but she won't directly say: "It's just average, at the level of a normal person."

These words deepened Susan's similar views. She nodded slightly: "Notify him tomorrow to play the role of Dalton."

Robert Downey Jr. has just successfully proposed, and Susan is more considerate of him. The marginal supporting role has little impact on the project.

Mary wrote it down.

The audition continued, and by the time everyone was done auditioning, Jason Sean did not appear.

Susan was the producer who was nominally third but actually in charge of the crew. She directly ordered Mary: "Disqualify him from auditioning."

The audition for the character Nick Jones is over. Susan will no longer be auditioning for someone alone.

The door to the audition room is closed, and the casting team holds a meeting here.

After all the audition videos were played, Susan had a slightly gentle attitude towards her work and asked, "Martin Davis, do you have any objections?"

The people in the casting team are not stupid, and they won’t speak out even if they have objections.

Susan looked at the time and said to Mary: "The official notification will be tomorrow."

The meeting was brief. After the meeting, Mary and Susan walked together and asked: "The audition in the afternoon?"

Susan waved her hand: "I won't participate. You make the decision for other roles."

Mary is an old man who has been in the industry for decades. Ability is not a problem. Even if he is thoughtful, the people he selects will meet the basic requirements.

The two of them separated. Mary returned to the office, found out her contact information, and made a phone call: "In the same place tonight, you found the person I asked you to find? Very good."

Thinking of the black guy with blond hair, Mary was in a good mood. In the past few years, no one had worked as hard as he did to help her sweeten her mood.

 …

In the parking lot of Warner Studios, Martin watched the police lights flashing and the ambulance arriving.

The familiar fat man was carried into the ambulance by the emergency personnel.

Thomas knows: "It seems like the company's customers."

Martin has met him more than once on the set of "Entourage": "Is Adrian's henchman called Bonnie or Tony?"

He felt that things were unusual: "Go and find out what's going on."

Thomas said: "I am your agent."

Martin's words about the transfer came casually: "It may be related to the audition."

“This won’t happen again!” Thomas emphasized. He went over to find someone to inquire about the situation, and then made a few more phone calls.

He came back quickly and said to Martin: "It was really related to the audition. Tony and Paris Hilton's boyfriend Jason Sean had a car collision, and the two got into a fight because of a quarrel... No, to be precise, Sean fought. Tony was taken away by the police. Tony seemed seriously injured."

Who is Martin? As soon as he heard it, he decided that it was not an accident and shook his head: "It's so weird!"

 Thomas didn’t hear clearly: “What?”

“The competition is fierce,” said Martin.

“Just get used to it.” Thomas understood what he meant: “The world of male actors is a little bit worse, but the female actors are more exciting.”

Martin mentioned Jason Sean at that time, his original intention was to let Adrian and the others focus on Jason Sean, but they did not expect Adrian to value Jason Sean so much.

Thinking of Adrian who was smiling in front of him, Martin's back felt cold: "I have a sense of crisis."

That guy is a scumbag. He asked Thomas: "Adrian is very valued in the company?"

Thomas said: "In general, he belongs to the group that has just emerged."

Martin considered whether to shake someone, so he took out his cell phone and found that it had not been turned on after turning it off. He quickly turned on the cell phone and soon received three text message reminders of missed calls.

Just as I was about to call back, the bell rang.

Martin got through, and Bruce's voice was still so unpleasant: "You're such a stinking piece of shit. You make people uneasy when I'm not looking for you, and I can't get through the phone when I'm looking for you."

“Because I can smell your stink in Los Angeles!” Martin retorted sharply: “The smell of **** on your brother came from Atlanta to Los Angeles!”

Bruce said: "I'm in Los Angeles!"

Martin was surprised: "What? Old Boo, are you in Los Angeles?"

Bruce said: "North Hollywood Valley Avenue, the parking lot in front of the Bank of America. Within half an hour of you, I will rob the Bank of America, and then tell those sons of **** that you are the mastermind behind it."

Martin hung up the phone and called Thomas: "Drive, go to Bank of America in North Hollywood, hurry up!" "I'm not your driver!" Thomas muttered silently, got into the driver's seat, and pulled Martin straight to North Hollywood.

Arriving at the parking lot in front of the Bank of America, Martin saw Bruce at a glance.

Bruce got off a Ford pickup truck: "It seems that you are doing well."

"It's not like you, who needs to sell his ass." Before Bruce could become a civilized person, Martin changed the subject: "You drove here from Georgia?"

Bruce shrugged: "After 911, air traffic control was too strict and it was easy to leave traces." He pointed at Thomas with his chin: "Who is this? Your new little brother?"

Thomas thought to himself, where did this country bumpkin come from? He was full of foul words and smelled bad.

"My agent, Thomas." Martin introduced briefly: "Thomas, this is Lao Bu, my brother, a professional scavenger."

He specifically added: "Someday you kill someone and it's difficult to deal with it. Just call Lao Bu. As long as you pay enough, he will help you deal with it properly."

Thomas nodded to Bruce and said to Martin: "I won't disturb you anymore."

Martin reminded: "If there is any news from the crew, please notify me immediately."

Thomas got in the car and left quickly.

Martin got into the passenger seat of the Ford pickup truck and pointed to the apartment to the north: "Go there." At the same time, he reminded: "Put your guy away, this is California, which has strict gun control, not Georgia."

But Bruce said: "I was stationed in California when I was in the army. I have a gun license and a concealed carry license here. Who am I? I will not give a son of a **** a chance to empty the magazine."

The car drove into the parking lot, and Martin helped pick up the luggage and led Lao Bu into the apartment building.

Bruce went up to the second floor and curled his lips: "I thought you were living in a big villa in Malibu or Beverly, and I came here specifically to join you."

Martin opened the door and said, "You can stay here with me for the time being. Choose one of the two bedrooms." Considering that Louise might come over to sing when she returns to Los Angeles, she found it very exciting after all: "When the apartment building becomes vacant, I will give it to you. Rent one.”

Bruce threw down his suitcase and sat on the sofa: "Don't you want to be with me forever?"

Martin opened the refrigerator, took out a can of beer and threw it to him: "I can smell the stench on your body thousands of kilometers away. Old Boo, there is another key question. When you go through the back door, do you want me to listen?"

Bruce opened the beer and took a big sip: "Okay, I don't care."

Martin also took a can of beer and asked, "Why did you come to Los Angeles all of a sudden?"

Bruce simply said: "I'm on the blacklist of a trafficker group in eastern Mexico. I'm not afraid of direct fire, but what if I get blacklisted? Vincent treats me well, and I can't implicate him."

“I’m sorry.” Martin understood what was going on as soon as he heard it: “My bad things have affected you.”

Bruce was not polite to Martin at all: "So, I can only come to you."

Martin said: "You will be my full-time manager from now on."

“It sounds high-end and classy.” Bruce asked, “What are you mainly doing?”

Martin thought for a while: "Drive, carry the bag, play with me, and guard my back."

Bruce was surprised: "Did you use the Vaseline I gave you?"

Martin went to look through Bruce's bag and planned to take out the gun: "Old Bruce, do you want to see God in advance?"

Bruce snorted: "God is a black man and will not meet racists."

"You came just in time, I met a bad person..." Martin recounted what happened before in detail.

“Don’t worry, I won’t let him mess with you.” Bruce sighed: “I left one quagmire and turned around and jumped into another.”

Martin looked at the time: "It's noon, let's go, go out for lunch, and I'll take you around Los Angeles in the afternoon."

“Go to the Sacred Valley?” Bruce was actually very curious: “I’ve always wanted to see with my own eyes how those films were shot.”

 Martin asked: "On-site observation?"

Bruce shrugged.

The two went out and happened to meet Antonio.

The big fat man rolled down the stairs slowly like a ball. When he saw Bruce, he asked Martin: "Is he a producer?"

Bruce said first: "Yes, I am a producer in Hollywood."

Antonio patted Martin on the arm: "Go to the hyenas early, don't wait until you can't stand it."

Martin glared at Lao Bu and looked at the landlord: "He likes fat people, so I brought him here specially."

Antonio was shocked, turned around and wanted to go upstairs: "Don't mess around, I have a gun!"

Martin said: "Who doesn't have a gun?" He was worried that the landlord's heart could not bear the physical pressure: "Just kidding, he is my friend, Anthony, you have a vacant house here, help keep it for him."

Antonio turned around, his trembling chest bigger than that of Jessica: "No problem, if there is a house available, I will inform you first."

Martin and Bruce went downstairs, found a place to have lunch, and went to the San Fernando Valley together.

Midway, Martin called Jenna Jameson. Her company has been officially established after the New Year and is filming its first film. They are welcome to visit.

At the studio in the Sacred Valley, Martin and Bruce put on their crew IDs and came to the filming location.

Jenna Jameson acted as the director herself. When the actress was out of breath from too much time, the director personally left the performance.
