469 The Eldest Son: Isaac Wang

The days went by quick after the Curse incident. People began to rebuild their beloved village, Lily spent a lot of her time training with Healer Chima, and Elder Jyu'so helped with materials and transportation while Keng spent his days continuing his training with Sir Gorrum.

Keng flew through the forest, keeping his eyes on the fleeing target as he held the Ruby Bow in his hands with a notched arrow. He occasionally jumped from a tree branch to propel himself further with his gravity floating as the deer blitzed through the forest.

Keng twirled through the leaves and flew straight into a large opening. Without hesitation, he pulled the Ruby bowstring back and aimed at the deer's next movement firing the arrow. The arrow sailed straight into the der, immediately killing it on impact as Keng came to a stop mid-air. The deer rolled, dropping to the ground as it came to a stop.

'Three.' Keng lowered himself down and pulled the arrow out with ease. He put the arrow back in the quiver and raised his hand over the deer. 'Void Storage.' The empty void rippled, eating the deer as the pocket closed. Keng turned his palm and noticed the rune embedded in his palm.

"I should've asked about this from the start. Knowing easy spells and runes like this come in handy." Keng watched the rune fade as he looked up at the cloudy sky. The suns peeked out from a cloud as the sky slowly moved.

"How much time do I have left before I need to go back?" Keng asked.

[You have 18 minutes left of your hunt.]

"Guess that's enough time to look for herbs." Keng spun on his heel and headed back the way he came. Keng casually grabbed the plants he needed for his energy drink, causally beelining his way straight for the village.

"Sqwwaa!" A bird flew straight into Keng, rocketing him to the side. The bird flipped, crash landing farther ahead of him as Keng came to a stop.

The metallic bird slammed into a tree as the glint of a four-tailed Fox landed in front of him. He had short pink hair and green emerald eyes. He wore strange armor with engravings on them. He held a spear in his left hand as he watched the metallic bird try to make a break for it.

"Sonic Blast!" The man shouted, tossing the spear. The spear connected with the metal bird, piercing a home straight through it instantly killing the bird. Keng watched the man, honestly more baffled he had pink hair and tails as the man summoned the spear back into his left hand and turned.

"Oh, I did hit someone." The man spoke giving a hand for Keng to use. "Sorry about that. I've been hunting this rare bird for the last couple of hours. I hope you didn't get hurt." The pink haired man helped Keng up, studying him. "Hmm, you're not hurt."

"Oh, it's fine." Keng brushed it off. "Pink hair and tails."

"Hmm?" The pink hair man raised an eyebrow. "What did you say?"

"Could Mr. Fan'r have a brother? You look a lot like him…" Keng asked.

"Oh, you know my dad?"

"Your Dad?" Keng asked loudly. The realization dawned on him, forcing him to take a couple steps back. "Isaac Wang?"

"And you are…?" Isaac asked, a bit surprised that a stranger knew his name. When Keng didn't answer, Isaac took a step forward, tails catching his attention. "Hello? You just gonna stare in disbelief or answer?"

"That's what they meant by you're unique." Keng whispered.

"Hey, dude. It's rude to–" Isaac began to say when Keng stuck his hand out. Isaac looked at it, a bit thrown off as Keng cleared his throat.

"I'm Keng. I'm visiting For'wut for a bit." Keng introduced himself. Isaac gave Keng a weird look before slowly reaching his hand out to shake Keng's. His grip immediately tightened and Isaac watched as Keng simply shook it.

"How do you know me?" Isaac asked. "Are you one of those bounty hunters after me still?"

"Huh? No!" Keng immediately pulled his hand away, surprising Isaac with his strength. "I know your sister. I work with her. Well… She works under me, I guess." Keng began to explain when he went into a mutter. Isaac's eye began to twitch at the mention of his sister.

"My sister? She– How–" Isaac began to stutter when he lifted his spear and pointed it at Keng's chest. Isaac thought he would get a reaction from Keng but he got nothing physically or through energy. Keng had a small layer of energy surrounding him and Isaac was beginning to get the feeling there was more to this guy than he was letting on.

"Hold it!" Keng threw his hands up. "I really am your sister's leader. I'm a Savior. She's a Savior."

"My sister isn't a Savior! Sh-she's…" Isaac began to stutter, pushing the spear head closer to Keng's chest. "She's just a baby!"

[Notice: A message from Jacob has arrived. Would you like to listen to it?]

'What is it?' Keng thought.

"Hey, where are you? I've been trying to find you but you immediately cut off your energy. Did something happen?" Jacob's voice spoke in his head. "Philip and the others are looking for you. It's time to go back. Isaac will be here any minute."

"Mr. Isaac." Keng spoke up.

"What?" Isaac asked, suspicious of Keng.

"I can prove to you I know your sister and your family." Keng told him. "I just need to let them know where I am and you'll get all of your answers."

"You think that's–" Isaac began to say when the noise of leaves rustling caught their attention.

"Found him!" Philip's voice shouted. Philip jumped from the tree branch and landed on the ground. "Looks like– Whoa, Isaac!" Philip ran to Isaac immediately pushing the spear away from Keng and standing in between them.

"Philip?" Isaac confusingly spoke.

"That's why you shut off your energy. You've run into a problem." Philip spoke to Keng while looking at Isaac. He grinned a toothy grin at Isaac and then bear hugged his eldest brother. "Isaac's back!"

"Wha-whoa! Philip, what're you doing?" Isaac asked. Philip squeezed his brother as Keng took another couple steps back and looked around. His energy flicked back on lighting up his location in an instant.

"I thought you'd be here later in the evening. You showed up quick! I see you also got two more tails while you were gone." Philip happily spoke to Isaac. Isaac smiled and gave his youngest brother a good hug and pat.

"Missed you too, kid." Isaac replied. "Two tails is a lot of work since I've last been here "

"Ah you're there." Jacob's voice came from the right of Keng. "And you've met my brother. Nice to see you, again, Izzy."

More rustles came and the rest of the Wang brothers gathered.

"Woah, Isaac!" Bright and Winn shouted in unison.

"I thought you were gonna be at the village in a couple more hours." Jacob spoke up. The brothers all exchanged hugs as Keng awkwardly watched.

'I don't know if I should be afraid of him or not… He's definitely a Halfing. A very unique one at that.' Keng thought as he circled the brothers as they did their usual "how you been? Was the journey long?" Talk.

"Oh, is this why you shut your energy off, Keng?" Bright asked. He looked at his left and noticed Keng was slowly circling them. "Keng?" He called out after Keng didn't respond to him.

"Huh? Ye-yeah." Keng nodded. The rest of the brothers looked at him. Isaac soun around and studied him more. His eyes were telling Keng he was still aary of him for some reason.

"Is it true Lily's a Savior?" Isaac asked his brothers.

"Yeah." Jacob nodded. "She got double Blessed recently too."

"What? When?" Isaac asked, surprised.

"You didn't get the notes again?" Winn asked unamused. The brothers all shook their heads as they separated from Isaac, letting Keng take a better look at him.

"Is this what you all meant by 'he's unique?'" Keng looked at the rest of the brothers.

Yup." Philip nodded. "He's one of the rarest Human-Fox Spirit Halfings!"

"Hey, you don't gotta say the whole thing every time." Isaac embarrassingly slapped Philip.

"What? Keng has the look." Philip motioned.

"Aha, he does!" Winn laughed, pointing at him. Keng narrowed his eyes at them, trying to hide whatever "look" he had on.

"So he is a friend?" Isaac asked, looking at Jacob for an answer. Jacob nodded.

"He did save For'wut with the help of Lily and some other Foxes. He's a hero in the eyes of the living and dead." Jacob explained to Isaac.

"And he even assisted in ritual rites." Philip added.

"He also healed Philip from Cursing." Bright added.

"Philip swore?" Isaac asked.

"No, he… It's a long story." Bright waved.

"Philip was Cursed but Keng's partner healed him." Winn continued the story. "Loads of things happened, trust was questionable, but he ended up killing the Vengeance Curse."

"The Vengeance Curse?" Isaac muttered surprised. "That's a high order. How did he and Lily even kill it?"

"Enough about Keng. Our time's up. Let's get back. Sir Gorrum might be ready to scold you if you're late, Keng." Jacob reminded Keng.

"Oh shit! I forgot!" Keng spun around and started his way back.
