Bored Gamer in Other Worlds

988 Chapter 988 The Promise

"…Simply perform 100 Push-Ups, 100 Sit-Ups, 100 Squats, and run for 10 kilometers one time, host. After you do that, your cheat will activate at once." Nancy informed.

"Well... I think that I have heard this exercise routine somewhere before." Our bored gamer rubbed his chin as he tried to remember.

"Anyways, let's get this party started." He decided after he finished his humble snacks.

Three grueling hours later and one can see a young boy nearly fainting by the roadside.

"HAK!"

"HAK!"

"HAK!" The boy threw a chorus of coughing fits and it would appear that he would cough out his lungs if this should continue. Luckily enough, he stopped on time upon hearing his rewards.

"DING!"

"Congratulations, host! You have acquired the Body of Miracle. Please check your status for further information."

Nancy's voice rang out as a lifesaver unto the very ears of our good gamer and in time, he felt an indescribable strength gather at the center of his being.

It replenished his sorry state and before long, he was once more back again at his feet.

"PHEEW! That was a hard exercise. I could not believe that this trivial body could take that punishment at all." Clark gasped in relief.

Although he had full confidence about his mental prowess but this mortal body surely was in need of much nutrition.

"At least I got this weakness fixed for now." He smiled and then sent a silent command towards his system cheat Nancy.

"DING!"

"Hmmm… Wonderful!" Clark applauded his current stats. With this kind of power, he could easily conquer this world.

But since this was merely a mortal realm, he was certain that his journey would not stop here. There were myriad realms in the universe to be had for sure.

"SIGH!"

"Why can't it become easier for once?" Clark complained audibly. He had a hunch that he would need at least millions of years to accomplish this instance.

This hunch was backed by his already considerable experiences at the very hands of his cliché partner inside his soul.

"Come out, Shadow Slave!" Our bored gamer summoned.

"DING!" A darkness as deep as the world remiss of light faithfully appeared in front of our very own protagonist.

If one looked closely enough, one would notice that this shadow oddly resembled that of the original appearance of our good gamer and not of the thin body he currently possessed.

The master and slave looked at one another for a couple of breaths before a change happened between them.

"Whoosh!" The shadow slave kneeled down and the true owner continued to inspect it from head to foot.

"Go and explore. I want you to find me the greatest influence in this universe. I await your good news." Clark ordered. It was stupidity if he would start from the ground up.

The better approach would be to start from the very top and let them do his work for him.

It was just a pity that even with his entire outstanding cultivation base right now, it was still hugely lacking in fully scanning this entire universe in its entirety. This was a

"DING!" The shadow slave nodded and swiftly vanished from the picture. What was left behind was a frail looking boy that enjoyed the sad mountainside for a few moments more.

In the far distance, the ringing of big machines that toiled the land into something else could be heard even at this great space. It was unnatural and ugly to say the least.

A full minute later, Clark began slowly walking back to whence he came.

"Mom! Brother is back!" A cute little girl came with all the excitement that youth could accomplish. Her face was full of innocence and undying belief upon the happy news that she would soon expect to her.

This scene has put a smile unto our bored gamer's face. This was exactly what Luka had feared to face in the first place.

"Luka, my son! What happened?! Did you pass the exam?! Come tell us quickly!" An aging woman came out from the slums.

The house was made of humble materials and it was obvious indeed because of the modest appearance of its dwellers. Our very own protagonist was of course included in this family.

"I'm sorry, mom. I failed." Clark was at least honest in his answer. There was no point in lying after all since he could even destroy this planet without even raising one finger.

It was his ego as a true powerhouse which made him disdain to lie to these poor people.

"…" A brief awkward silence ensued before it was broken by a ringing laughter.

"I see. You don't have to worry, my son. God has a plan for us. Most especially for you. Come. I prepared dinner already."

The aging woman consoled but there was already traces of tears dropping from the side of her eyes.

She dreaded the future especially about the shark money lenders that they had borrowed money in order to take the entrance exam.

"Big brother! How could you?! You said you would pass! You made mom cry! I hate you!" The pale girl accused. She too was openly crying at this time.

Although she was young but she knew how hard life was for the poor. She lived it and faced its consequences on a daily basis.

She wanted to grow up fast so she could also provide help to their mother. But time could prove to be the greatest enemy of the young.

"Hush, Georgia. This is not the time to throw blame around. Your brother tried but…" The aging mother shook her head. She then took a deep breath to take a hold of her emotions.

Since her husband left her for another woman, she had tried very much to be the bastion of strength in this family. She would not fail to embody it right now. Not today of all times.

'You have a good family, Luka. Don't you worry because I will take care of them from now on.' Clark promised inside.
