Broken Tower Saga: The First Swordsman

Chapter 54: The First Lesson (1)

WRIK INSPECT EVERYTHING in the special training chamber. It's about twenty square metres in area, carved out by smooth stone. With the entrance being locked, it has a distinct atmosphere from the outside.

Wrik couldn't even tell it was dawn now as the light in the chamber was as bright as day. Even the air was purer than outside. Well, it costs a thousand Omega Credit per day normally to use this chamber. But with the reward from the Trial, it only cost them a tenth of that. If not for the discount, this training chamber was currently out of their league. It was extremely expensive, but what could they do? Sophia especially asked to book the chamber for two weeks.

There's dozen of training swords, blades, spears, hammers, gauntlets, staff and other weapons on the walls. While Wrik stood by, checking out the room. Anton was already playing with a few of them. While Jacob was beside him. The archer was a bit more excited than usual.

Wrik still did not know why the chamber cost so much. Even his scrutinising eyes failed to notice anything extraordinary in the chamber. Maybe there were some hidden features—he was unaware of. Sophia specifically asked to rent this chamber; there must be something extraordinary in it.

"Kevin, are you sure you're alright?" Davin asked, looking at the tall man beside him.

"I'm alright, I'm telling you this the third time now," Kevin said. The brown-skinned man looked in good shape after a day of rest.

Wrik looked at Kevin—who looked fine from the outside. Apart from being a bit pale, there's no difference.

"Well, you could wait a couple of days before starting." Wrik couldn't help but mention. There was no way he could tell about the internal health of someone, even if he had transcendence vision.

"Thanks, both of you, for worrying about me, but I'm fine," Kevin said. His voice was slow and still. "I really needed this."

"If you say so," Wrik and Davin said at the same time.

"Hey guys, check this out," Anton called out from one corner of the room. He was holding a two-metre tall bastard sword, even bigger than his own size. "Check out my sword dance."

Saying that, Anton started to dance with the great sword. Not the swordsmanship sword dance, but an actual dance assuming the greatsword as a lady. Yet Anton had a fine tune on it. Anton spun the sword as if it was the slenderest waist of a lady holding the guard. His legs moved smoothly as he lost in the dance.

Anton did not forget to show a few dangerous glares with the sword as well.

Wrik couldn't help but put his arm on his forehead. "Good lord Ton, when did you learn to dance? Don't tell me you're doing this behind my back."

While Davin grinned. "He must have got bored playing with his hand, so he started to play with swords now."

"Little Dave, go prepare my breakfast." Anton stopped his dance abruptly, hearing what Davin said. "You don't know how many girls were fighting with each other to dance with me."

One must know, Anton might be quite good at dance, but what he best at was bragging.

"Really," a female voice came from behind. Sophia walked towards the middle of the room. Behind her were another two females. Tanya and Michelle. Sophia said again. "I didn't know you're such a womaniser."

Anton's face became red hearing what Sophia said. "It's not me. They, the girls, wanted to have a dance with me. . ." he flustered. "But I turned them all down."

"Really," Sophia smiled. "I should check that out later."

On the other side, Wrik's lips twitched. 'Ton, my dear brother, at least brag about something that someone believes.'

"It seems nothing but bragging to me," Michelle from behind sounded out. "You don't look like a guy who would turn down even a pig if it asked to dance with you."

"What are you saying? Wrik? Tell them about. .. about how good I am." Anton couldn't find anything to say, brought Wrik to his bragging.

The three girls' attention was transferred from Anton to Wrik. While Anton gave him a pitiful, pleading eye. Wrik sighed and gave his all to rescue his good brother. "Yes, He may not look like it but Ton is an excellent dancer." Anton might be best at bragging, but Wrik did not lose out in lying with a straight face. "When we were young Ton used to dance with everyone in our town. He was great at that." Well, most of the part was true, apart from the dancing, it was a different kind of dance. A dance where you have to use your limbs faster. Wrik then changed the topic immediately. "Well, let's start the training, shall we?"

Sophia smiled and nodded as she came in front of everyone, while the other two girls join the rest of them.

"Does it count everyone?" The blonde lady asked, finding the number is lower than she expected.

"We informed Evan and the other two, but it seems they are not…" Before Davin could finish his sentence the entrance opened again as three figures came in. "I guess they are here."

"Sorry, we're late," the curly-haired girl, Lillian, apologised. "Finding the training chamber took more than we thought."

"Well, you are just in time." Sophia nodded. "Now that everyone's present, shall we begin?"

Nobody complained against it so the blonde woman continued. "Everyone took a mat and sat down."

Nobody had any issue with that; they sat bringing the mats, which were available in the chamber. There were ten people there, so they sat in two rows of five. Wrik sat in the front row with Anton, Tanya, Davin and Kevin while the other in the other row.

Sophia didn't take any mat though, she brought a stool from a corner then sat in front of them.

"I guess there's no need to introduce ourselves, is there? As most of us have some idea of who we are," Sophia said, looking at all of them, her eyes resting on the second row a little more. "Well, still for manner purpose, I'm Sophia Syfinn from Knightshade. I don't know if you have heard of it."

"So now that the introduction is done, let's get to the main business." Sophia eyed everyone, resting her buttock on the stool. She paused at them for a brief moment before opening her rosy lips again. "I'll start with some useful knowledge that would help you have a better understanding of your personal status window.

"As you all know, Omeganet enumerates the eight basic compounds of your body in the status window. Which are Strength, Agility, Constitution, Vitality, Intelligence, Magic power, Perception, and Luck. I should not need to explain what each of the attributes represents. Does anyone know what the increased value of each attribute is measured by?"
