Bai Xue walked up front in her white fox form. She walked lazily without care about her little image and claimed the storage ring that contained her prize.

Mo Nuan looked at the little white fox with shock in her eyes. She smiled as she bursts out laughing after handing Bai Xue her prize.

"Puhahaha, this is hilarious, this year's batch of the third examination area is all trash. To be outdone by a little white fox. This is hilarious, ahahahaha, hey, Wang kid, this little pet of yours is extremely interesting. And you as well, to let your fox take the prize, do you wish to humiliate everyone so much?"

Many frowned at her words.

Mo Nuan couldn't stop it and gave Wang Ling a call. Wang Ling was already the center of attention as soon as he walked up to get his prize. Now that Mo Nuan had called up to him and Bai Xue lazily jumping on his shoulder to sleep as if she was some scarf. He became even more popular for all the wrong matters.

However, Wang Ling only smiled at them not caring what they thought of him. For all he cared, this kind of thing is going to be useful for him. If they hate him this early, infuriating them enough to suck them dry of their points will not be hard.

It would be easier to have angry people behind him than nice ones. Besides, the thing he wanted to control wasn't these people but instead the whole academy.

Why did Wang Ling enter an academy instead of living a life full of plunder and killing? It was to kill those 'genius' students of those other academies who dared hurt his family.

Although there was a side goal of taking every resource for himself. Wang Ling's goal never changed from the start. But to kill those bastards, he needed support not only from his family but from other forces as well.

Wang Ling smiled at Mo Nuan and gave a nonchalant remark to correct her words, "She's not my pet. She's more of a fellow schoolmate than anything else. It would be rude of anyone to say that she's a pet. Bai Xue is on equal footing with me, after all. If she is a pet then that would mean that I am on the same level as she is, a pet."

Mo Nuan raised a brow to hear Wang Ling's answer and said, "So she's your partner! with the ambiguous words? Just say it outright and speak like a man!"

Wang Ling was quiet for quite some time thinking about how he should react. He never really knew anything about having a partner he could work with so he did not know if Bai Xue was his partner or not.

After all, this weird relationship they had was built upon having common benefits. They will not act if nothing benefits each other. Bai Xue follows Wang Ling because she gets resources from him.

Wang Ling was together with Bai Xue because her knowledge of the Heaven Realm coincides with his interest. Her strength also drew him to her and made him want to her as a mount or a beast companion.

Which, can also be taken as wanting Bai Xue wanting to fight by his side. Wang Ling wanted someone to fight with him to lessen the burden on him and he saw Bai Xue as the perfect candidate.

Meaning, she was his partner. He did not know what was going on in her mind but Wang Ling was pretty sure about the idea he had. Bai Xue was his partner.

Wang Ling looked at Mo Nuan and nodded his head, "Thank you for clarifying that for me… Bai Xue is indeed my partner."

Upon saying those words, Wang Ling felt his mind clear. He was intelligent but on some occasions, Wang Ling was pretty stupid. It would seem the idea of having a companion was one of those things that he was pretty ignorant about.

After fighting on his own for so long, Wang Ling forgot the feeling of having a companion by your side, fighting with you. Now that he was aware of it, Wang Ling was shocked by how stupid he was.

[Mhm, it seems like I am pretty stupid about such a matter.

Has it been that long since I considered someone an equal in terms of strength and ability that I forgot what it was to have a proper companion?

While Wang Ling was severely feeling embarrassed about his stupidity. Bai Xue was quiet. Her tail was covering her face.

Mo Nuan had never heard such a heavy reply about such a simple matter. The weight behind Wang Ling's words wasn't light. It felt really heavy and Mo Nuan felt that heaviness.

She looked at Wang Ling with weirded out eyes.

[It seems like this one also has an eccentric way of thinking like those guys.

Mo Nuan approached Wang Ling and placed her hand on his shoulder waking up the dazed Wang Ling. With a smile plastered on her face, Mo Nuan spoke "Wang kid, I'm going to place my money on you so don't disappoint me or else."

Having experienced a threat that came from out of nowhere. Even Wang Ling was shaken. He wanted to ask what was happening to clear his mind but Mo Nuan had already flown upwards.

With her robe fluttering. Mo Nuan announced.

"All of you here passed and once you enter the academy, the plaque in your hands will become your identification plaques. The formation locking most of its functions will be unlocked a day after entering the academy as a student.

"To the top 5 students, all of you shall gain the right to enter the Junior Competition that will be held on the last day of the third month of next year. Also, remember, to those who do not raise their strength to the saint realm before turning 24 years old, you will be expelled out of the academy.

"Now, I will take you to the academy!"

Mo Nuan finished her announcement and took out a talisman from her storage ring. After taking it out. She circulated her spirit qi to it and a formation underneath the feet of the examinees appeared.

A bright light shot up the sky as space fluctuated. Wang Ling used his unique eyes to observe the light and found that it was a large scale [Spatial Transportation Array].

The bright light enveloped everyone and before they disappeared, Wang Ling last thoughts were:

With that, they disappeared from the third examination grounds. The examinations of the Thundergod Academy had ended and the total number of the third examination grounds alone numbered at over tens of thousands.

There were ten domains in the central regions and the [Lightning Domain] where the Thundergod Academy was built on was one of the four regions that have the presence of the seven great academies.

In the outer area of the Thundergod Academy where the [Examination Peaks] were located. A bright light shot up the sky as over three hundred new students arrive on the mountain peak where a [Grand Formation] was set up.

"Welcome to Thundergod Academy!"

Mo Nuan's voice echoed in the air as the mysterious Thundergod Academy was presented to the new students.

The new students was at the peak of a tall mountain that had the view where it could overlook most of the academy's prized area in the outer circle of the academy.

Many had their mouths agape at the sight of the academy grounds. From what they had heard, the academy grounds span for millions of kilometers. It would seem that it was true.

No one managed to see through the horizon and even the outer circle of the academy was too vast to observe on the peak.           

There were vast fields with beasts wandering the area. Flying beasts with students flying all over the place. Students fighting in some areas and many more sights were presented in front of them.

The new students was in awe. It was an amazing place and the sight was something out of their dreams. Those who came from refutable backgrounds were also in awe at the magnificent sight of the academy.

However, someone was acting very differently than the rest.

Wang Ling opened his eyes and immediately noticed the denseness of spirit qi in the air. He had yet to enter the academy and the first thing he noticed was the fact that the quality of spirit qi in this place was far superior to not only the Blazing Wing Continent but also to the Sacred Grounds of the previous era.

[This is a good place to cultivate in. If this place has an area where a [Qi Converging Array] is set up then…]

Wang Ling was already calculating how long it would take him to reach level-3 nascent soul realm if he just did normal meditation. If he was to practice in this place without any resources, he should be able to experience a breakthrough in less than 7 months.

That was something incredible already. However, if he can find a place where denser spirit qi was present, then… he should achieve breakthroughs at breakneck speed.

Wang Ling was in awe, but not for the right idea of seeing a magnificent view.

Wang Ling was properly controlling his urges but someone wasn't. Bai Xue who had awoken because of the transfer saw the spirit beasts and had an even stronger urge to go down and kill everyone to get some beast core and improve her strength.

The duo that was simply addicted to collecting resources had a hard time controlling themselves at the sight of such a place. It was hard, but the two managed to control themselves after taking a few deep breaths.

Wang Ling was now at peace but Bai Xue still had some minor urges. She was able to control those though.

"Try not to do anything that will get us into trouble." Wang Ling reminded.

"Sure!" Bai Xue answered in a rather uncivilized manner.

But as Wang Ling was observing the academy. Wang Ling remembered something and he began to feel excited and instinctively began looking around.

The awe of the students continued for a long time. Mo Nuan found their restless expressions interesting.

"Alright, follow me! We will enter the academy and have you pick temporary lodgings."

The students were all hyped and excited. They quickly followed after Mo Nuan.

They were too excited to notice that someone was leaving the group and was heading in the opposite direction. Mo Nuan turned around and saw Wang Ling going the opposite way, she was baffled and called out.

"Hey, that is not the way. Come and follow me if you want to enter the academy!"

Wang Ling turned around and answered, "Thank you, but I don't need to. I'm looking for the exit, I need to go back home now!"

Wang Ling was being overly excited about going home and meeting his family once again. An old fogey acting out of character.
