There was tension between one of the warehouse doors.

Finally, with a creaking sound, the warehouse door began to open. Barry swallowed a gulp and raised his sword. Meanwhile, Marie and Brielle took the long sticks from the warehouse one by one.

If the door were opened a little further, they would be seen.

At that instant moment…

Chang—

Breaking through the silence, the sound of something breaking came from the entrance to the kitchen.

“What?”

The knights of Caveran, who were opening the warehouse door, turned their heads and looked there.

“There it is!”

They shouted that they had found something and left behind Brielle and the others and disappeared. As the sound of footsteps chasing something echoed throughout the mansion, the three people in the warehouse relaxed their tensed bodies.

Barry peeked out through the open warehouse door to see what had happened. There, a child the size of Brielle was running with a cape pulled over his head.

‘…Ellie’

It was easy for him to know that it was Ellie. He was grateful to her for saving them from danger, but he looked at his sister with worried eyes about what she was doing. Fortunately, Siege was running alongside her.

Ellie saw the room in front of her eyes which was Brielle’s dressing room. When she saw the knights of Caveran heading towards the kitchen through the cracks in the stairs, her heart raced.

“Can we go over there?”

“There?”

“Yes. It’s the dressing room.”

Ellie asked Siege, who was hiding with her. He stuck his head out and checked the presence in the hallway. Fortunately, the knights were nowhere to be seen.

“Let’s go.”

Saying so, Siege grabbed her hand and ran toward the door. The two entered the dressing room safely. Ellie hurriedly averted her eyes, and she began to look for something that might make her look like Brielle.

‘That’d be good.’

Wearing a black cloak and hat, it was clear that most people would not notice.

As she put on the cloak, Siege examined what might be a weapon.

“Listen up, Ellie. We need to get their eyes off the kitchen and then go up the stairs. We’ll get the upper hand and then throw things at the enemies coming up.”

Understanding the operation Siege explained with ease, Ellie nodded her head.

“I know a good place. Let’s hurry up. At this rate, the enemies will spot the three first in the kitchen warehouse.”

The two held each other and moved. And finally, they reached all the way to the kitchen on the first floor. They saw a knight putting his hand on the warehouse doorknob. Siege pushed the pottery beside him and knocked it over.

The sound of the pottery breaking echoed everywhere, and the knights turned around.

“There it is!”

“Now.”
e
Ellie and Siege held hands and started running.

“Go to the Count’s bedroom. There’s a narrow staircase that leads up to the attic.”

Following Ellie’s explanation, Siege turned and sped up.

“There it is.”

They walked around the hallways between the rooms.

Then, as the enemies moved away, they stopped for a moment to grab something to roll from the top. Ellie also embraced things that could be helpful next to her.

“Let’s go.”

As soon as the enemies showed signs of getting closer, the two ran again. After wandering around for so long, they finally reached the attic.

“You go inside and don’t come out.”

Siege said as he pushed her into the attic, and Ellie nodded her head obediently.

“Still, don’t close the door. If things go wrong, brother should evacuate as well.”

“Okay.”

The two settled down and greeted the enemy who would come up the stairs here.

Kentrail led the King, who was screaming loudly, to the prison attached to the Palace.

“Do you think you will walk free with this?! When the knights came from the border, you’re finished.”

The King, who firmly believed that the knights of the border would come to rescue him, thought that he would just have to hold out for a little while.

“Well, are you really worth it to them?”

The knights who were dragging the King laughed at Kentrail’s words. Knowing that it was a mockery, he trembled.

“How dare you!”

The King roared at Kentrail.

“That is what I want to say.”

Kentrail, who had endured so far, exploded. He grabbed the King by the shoulders and pushed him against the wall.

A thud echoed through the dark prison.

“Remember, you can never die easily.”

Having done so, Kentrail turned around again.

It was a brief moment though the King caught a glimpse of his anger, despair, and murderous intent in his eyes. Goosebumps formed around his neck. He couldn’t say a word until he reached the depths of the prison.

The knights threw the king to the ground.

The King, who had never been treated like this, bit his lip. As Kentrail lowered himself to his eye level, he saw his eyes again. It was the eye of a beast… It was an eye that Kentrail had never shown to him.

“You know better what you did, and what pain it brought to Brielle and me.”

“Do you think it would be different if you were in my place?”

“At least, if I had thought of you as a real close friend, I wouldn’t have used that to sit there.”

When the mention of friendship came out of Kentrail’s mouth, the King shut his mouth tightly. Those were the words he always said himself, but those words took on a different weight when they came out of Kentrail’s mouth.

Kentrail looked at the silent King and straightened his body.

There was still plenty of time.

From now on, he would have to slowly return the things he received from him. Before that, he seemed to have to make sure that Brielle and Marie were all right. Kentrail was anxious that the news of Caveran’s capture had yet to arrive.

Kentrail turned to get out of the prison.

“I… I…”

The King shouted back towards Kentrail.

“I have to live. Even so, I had to keep my place. It’s all because you guys didn’t side with me… Yes, that’s what it is.”

The loser’s protest continued. Kentrail continued on his way.

These were words not worth hearing.

If the King felt sorry for him, he should not have at least visited Kentrail, put on the mask of being a friend, and offered the position of chancellor.

Cavera walked leisurely and entered the Charant mansion. On the first floor of the mansion lay the corpses of his employees though he did not budge.

“Did you find him?”

He then turned to the knight who ran towards him and asked.

“Not yet.”

He raised his eyebrows, hearing that they hadn’t found Brielle yet, so he set out to find Brielle himself.

“It’s dangerous.”

The knights’ commander, who always followed Caveran, said.

“You are here. It’s okay.”

While avoiding the place where the sound of the knights fighting could be heard, Caveran spoke. The other side was still unorganized.

“It’s the attic.”

While leading the knight’s commander and moving his steps, a knight came running and opened his mouth.

“Attic? Let’s go.”

Caveran smiled meanly at the thought of finally being able to kill the opponent he wanted to kill so much. He could do anything as long as he thought that Kentrail would be in pain.

Soon, he climbed the stairs going up.

The sound of something falling and rolling grew louder and louder.

Thinking of that as Brielle struggling to live for the last time made him laugh. The knight in front rubbed his arm at the sound of Caveran’s laughter. He was the person the knight served, but he seemed insane whenever he did that. And recently, the intensity has been increasing.

Climbing the stairs and passing a long hallway, he saw knights lying on the floor.

Then, he saw that all kinds of things were broken. The knights’ commander, who had been coming with Caveran, raised his head and looked up.

There, he saw an unusual-looking boy standing with a sword.

It looked like he was still relaxed.

‘He’s quite talented.’

“I’ll go up and take care of it.”

The knights’ commander said to Caveran. It seemed that he had to step out himself.

“Leave that kid alone. Instead, find Brielle.”

Caveran, not recognizing Siege’s true worth, spoke leisurely.

“Brielle is in the room over there.”

The knight that came to pick up Caveran reported.

“Is that so? Then I’ll have to go.”

He grinned before crying out.

“Brielle! What are you doing now! I’m your father’s uncle. Why don’t you come out here and say hello? Don’t just hang around like that.”

Ellie, who heard that instead of Brielle, gripped the dagger tightly. She was ready to thrust the knife into that person’s throat.

“I want to see your face.”

Ellie said to herself, ‘Let’s see if he can speak so proudly when the Count comes.’

“I can’t do this. Take him out.”

When there was still no response from Brielle, Caveran gave instructions to the knights. The knights started climbing the stairs again, and there was a clash of swords. It was because Siege slashed his sword and pushed his opponent with his feet.

The knights who had climbed together collapsed again.

It kept on repeating. It was only then that he realized that Siege was unusual and ordered the knights’ commander to go upstairs.

He started climbing the stairs.

Siege straightened up against an opponent different from the knights he had faced so far and grabbed his sword with both hands.

The two collided.

Taylor went to the kitchen. Fortunately, the warehouse door was tightly closed.

“Young Master.”

The door opened at the sound of his voice.

“Taylor.”

“Some of the knights have fallen. Go outside and get on the prepared horse and go to Master Jayden’s family.”

“Still…”

Brielle hesitated, as he would be the only one who would run away. Ellie was on his mind.

“After seeing that the Young Master has left the mansion safely, I will go to rescue Ellie. Go on.”

Hearing those words, Brielle couldn’t help but get out. Marie and Barry followed.

“Don’t worry.”

Taylor said, looking at Marie, who was weeping over her worries for Ellie.

“Please, take care of Ellie.”

Marie regretted that they should have faced the enemy in a place where the children were not present, even if she had to be the bait outside.

Barry hugged his older sister and moved.

Eventually, Brielle, Marie, and Barry made it out of the mansion safely. They never know who would die in the mansion.
