Cultivation Through Artifacts

Chapter 340: Core Disciple

"We thank the Ancestor for the assistance!"

Everyone present, including even Senior Lin, who was the master of this sect, clasped their hands together before their chests and bowed respectfully even though there was no one visibly present.

"Whatever, just make sure such an accident won't happen again."

"It was this junior's fault, I promise it won't happen again!" Senior Lin bowed even deeper as he replied, her face as tranquil as a pond of water.

"If you know your mistake that's what matters. As for him... Just make him a Core Disciple already."

Hearing what the voice just said, Senior Lin and everyone around looked stupefied, but as neither of them had the balls to complain nor question their Ancestor's decision, all of them nodded and bowed once again.

"As you wish!"

"That's what I like to hear!" the mysterious voice hummed with satisfaction before the pressure on Khal's body vanished completely, causing him to control his essence and use his Talents normally once again.

'Just... who was he?' Khal asked himself as he stood up with slightly shaky legs, feeling deeply shocked by what just happened to him.

He was currently on the Third Cultivation Stage with several powerful Talents and an amount of Body Essence that only a few had in the entire Second Realm if not no one.!

Yet, even with so many metiers that made him simply invincible on his Cultivation Stage and literally put him on equal footing with those above him in strength, he failed to resist an unknown attack from an unknown existence which normally shouldn't even occur!

Especially not if the unknown existence in question turned out to be a human, as that was simply impossible for him to get surpassed like this. Even if the person was at the peak of the Fifth Cultivation Stage, his real strength would only be at the peak of the Limit Breaker Stage, giving him the chance to at least resist against the pressure if not repel it completely!

'Wait... then does that mean...' suddenly, a somewhat ridiculous idea materialized in Khal's head, and couldn't help but feel slightly startled.

However, before he could have the chance to think any further, suddenly noticed as several figures appeared in front of him, each of them staring at him with complicated faces; some held stern and cold faces, some looked at him curiously while others seemed to be nonchalant as they examined him up to bottom.

"So? How do you explain yourself? I hope you are well aware that offending the Sect Master is a great crime!" Elder Shiu asked coldly which at all the figures around him nodded in approval.

"Crime?" Khal showed a deep frown and sneered, "So you tell me self-defense is a crime? Don't make me laugh!"

"You!" Elder Shiu wished to walk up and slap Khal in the face for his arrogant behavior but was abruptly halted by a firm palm on his shoulder.

"Sect Master!"

Senior Lin looked at Elder Shiu with a calm, but ice-cold gaze, seemingly telling the old man in front of her not to act so rashly or he will be the one who gets the worst out of it.

"I apologize..." admitting his mistake, Elder Shiu lowered his head and took a step back, taking a spot right behind Senior Lin.

Senior Lin nodded gently when she saw that Elder Shiu contained himself and glanced at Khal, who was now holding none of his arrogant and cold looks, but his indifferent one instead.

"You said your name was Khal, right?" Senior Lin asked with a serene voice after examining Khal's figure for a while.

"Yes, I did." Khal nodded, but except for that and the short answer, he said nothing else and remained silent, curious to see what will happen now.

"I see. Then Core Disciple Khal, welcome to Moon Sect. Elder Rene will take you to your residence where you will be able to live. He will also explain everything you need to know about this place, the rules and the things you must not do. Also, if you have or will have any questions, just look for him."

"Elder Rene?" Khal glanced at the figures behind Senior Lin to see which one of them was Elder Rene, but it was not long before one of the individuals stepped forward, giving him the answer.

A tall frame, maybe a bit taller than he was while his body was well built and muscular, giving him a kind of prevailing image that only a few could possess. Long, waist-length silver hair that was in perfect harmony with his shining silver robe and silver eyes that flickered ever so brightly, like two pieces of jewelry under the moon's dazzling glow!

'Middle phase Limit Breaker, so in reality, he is only a middle phase Body Temperer.' Khal thought to himself as he felt Elder Rene's cultivation base.

"Any questions?" Senior Lin suddenly asked which at Khal nodded and said, "As a matter of fact, yeah, I have one."

"Tell me." Senior Lin although slightly annoyed that Khal will ask a question even though she just told him Elder Rene will explain everything, crossed her arms and waited patiently.

Ignoring the impatient look on her face, Khal glanced around and asked, "Is there a place here where I can buy herbs?"

Moon Sect. One of the many sects around the Second Realm, but only one out of the twenty human sects that humans successfully were able to establish through insanely hard work and sacrifice.

Although it was a small sect like any other human-built sects around the Second Realm, which cannot even be compared with those bigger sects such as the God Life Sect or Immortal Blood Sect, it was still a perfect place that provided great benefit for those that decided to join it.

Of course, the amount and quality of those benefits greatly depended if one became an Outer, Inner, or Core Disciple as the rewards and benefits one got for each title differed greatly.

For instance, while Outer Court Disciples needed to do dangerous missions where they had to risk their lives non-stop in wish to get stronger, Inner Court Disciples could remain behind the sect's safe walls until they had enough Contribution Points which can be exchanged for anything. Naturally, they did a few missions a month, but it was far by not as much as Outer Court Disciples did.

As for Core Disciples, they were those special individuals inside the sect that gained the most benefits and could literally buy and do almost anything and everything freely as their value to the sect was immeasurable; it could be said that they were priceless treasures that could bring them to a brighter future, thus the reason why they were allowed to do and have almost everything!

And such an amazing privilege which only a few could have and ignited envy in the rest, was now in Khal's possession, who was currently standing before a small building and gazed at the huge sign on it with Elder Rene on his side.
