Chapter 3: Summoner and Dragonewt

According to the info, summoning a Summoned Beast requires a Summoning Stone. This time, I got a Summoning Stone for free as a Starting Bonus. I immediately placed the Summoning Stone on the ground as written on the instructions and evoked the Level 1 spell, Magic Stone Summon.

“Magic Stone Summon!”

When I cast the spell, a purple magic circle automatically formed around the magic stone. The magic stone floated upward, and was sucked into the magic circle. After that, dazzling yellow lights came out from the Summoning Circle that absorbed the Magic Stone. The light was so dazzling that I had to close my eyes, but the light stopped soon after.

When I opened my eyes, a cute, blue-eyed girl with long, blonde hair stood in the middle of the Magic Circle. The Information Panel popped up again.

[Dragonewt Summoning Success. Please give it a name]

If I’m not mistaken, a Dragonewt is part of the Dragon Race, right? In other words, this girl is a Demi Human-type Summoned Beast. For me to summon a Dragon right off the bat…

As I froze, the Dragonewt girl talked to me.

“Did you… Summon me?”

“Ah, yeah. I was the one who summoned you.”

Oh crap, I didn’t think she’d talk to me…

“I see. Tell me your name.”

“It’s Se… no. Takuto. My name is Takuto.”

I almost told her my real name. I heard this kind of thing was taboo, so I have to be careful next time.

“Takuto. That’s a nice name!”

The girl smiled honestly and cheerfully. This VR technology is scary; she looked just like a real girl. When I thanked the girl for her words, she says,

“Hey Takuto, give me a name.”

She asked me for a name. I never thought that I would have to give her a name. I looked at her. I got the feeling that she is a bright and honest girl. I looked at her and decided on a name.

“How about Lily?”

Her name was derived from the lily flower. There are a lot of kinds of lilies, but I decided to name her based on the flower language of ordinary lilies. During my part-time job at the florist’s, the lady I was working with told me that in the language of flowers, lilies mean purity, innocence, and chastity, which I thought was appropriate for this girl.

I would like to exclude its other meanings such as charm, pure love, and longing as it’s not appropriate for a first meeting. There are more meanings associated with the flower, but those don’t fit the image of this girl a bit, so I won’t include it.

In other countries, the flower seems to be mostly associated with purity and innocence as well, so there should be no problem.

I don’t have anything to compare it to, so I don’t really understand how Lily’s strength is uselessly high. As expected of the Dragonkin. As for my status, I think the build is also pretty high. After all, save for my DEF which is at 4, all the other stats are at least a 10 and above.

Next, I looked at the Item Box and found a Novice’s Staff, Beginner’s Potion x 5, Portable Meal x 5 and money worth 5000G inside. It didn’t contain a Sword for Lily, so it seems I’ll have to buy that one. After taking out the Novice’s Staff, my preparation was complete.
