Emperor's Reckoning

682 Are You Joking?!

"Coffee?" Assid furrowed his brows. "What is a coffee?"

"Huh?" Lyon's eyes snapped open. "You don't know what a coffee is?"

"Forgive me, young master, but I've never heard of 'coffee' before, how do you make it?" asked Assid.

"No, no, no, no, no, NO! This can't be!" Lyon screamed as he massaged his temples. His scream echoed but nobody dared to utter a single complaint.

"Forgive me, young master," said Assid as he took a knee.

"No, no, don't do that," said Lyon as he sighed. "It's not your fault for not knowing coffee."

Assid nodded, "Thank you, young master."

Cecile chuckled, "What is coffee? You seem to be fond of it."

"Yes! I mean, some don't but I particularly do!" said Lyon as he nodded. "Coffee is the type of drink that I used to drink every single day."

"And it doesn't make you dizzy?" asked Lumina.

"No! Well, if you drink too much of it, then yes, it might get you dizzy with your heart pumping," said Lyon.

"It's just another liquor then, you should give Assid the recipe, I'm sure he is able. After all, he is a quick learner."

Assid bowed, "Thank you for your praise, young miss."

"Hahaha, don't mind it," Cecile laughed.

"No, it's not liquor, and the recipe, well... there are a plethora of it," Lyon sighed. "However, you must get the main ingredient, which is the coffee bean. We cannot make it without that."

"Coffee bean, huh. Got it," Assid nodded. "I'm sure that I've never heard of it, but maybe it's on the market with different names."

"Oh?" Lyon instantly turned brighter as he heard what Assid had just said. (That's right! The name might be different!) "Well the shape of a bean, you know it's small and looks like uh...."

Lyon blinked as he slightly tilted his head. He looked away as he muttered with furrowed brows, "It looks like uh...."

"Heh," Lyon let out a heavy snort. "Damn it, I never thought about it before but it does look like that."

"What does it look like Lyon? Like peas?" asked Lumina.

"Peanuts?" Cecile added.

"Oh oh oh! Sunflower seeds?" Kesya added.

"No, it looks like a vagina," said Lyon as he nodded firmly.

The whole table was silent at that moment. There were no buzzing flies, not even the flow of air that was supposed to enter ones' nostrils were heard. Disbelief was planted on their faces, everyone but the young man who firmly nodded.

"Are you, serious?" asked Lumina as she raised her brows.

"I am, no joke! Swear to god! Well, we kill gods now so... I swear to my heart if that counts," said Lyon as he nodded. "The color is ranging from black to brown, but I don't know, it might even be different here."

"Understood, young master, how about the size?" asked Assid.

(You're too chill with this!) shouted Kesya inwardly.

"The size is pretty small, like a finger-tip small, but the size may vary," said Lyon as he nodded. "It won't be as big as a person, it's probably like regular seeds."

"Understood, I will buy it if I saw it on sale, if not, then I will then take another measure," said Assid as he nodded.

(Damn, he would steal? I think it's too late to be surprised now) Lyon smiled wryly before he nodded. "Just don't overdo it."

"Don't worry, young master, it will be swift and clean," Assid nodded.

"Wait, you're going to kill for a coffee bean?" asked Lyon.

"Is the bean not worth the sacrifice?" asked Assid.

"No? Just don't kill someone over a coffee bean, unless it's escalated to the point of no return," said Lyon. "But in most cases, just give it up if you can not buy it."

"Understood," Assid nodded before he took out a piece of note and write it down.

"Hehehe," Cecile chuckled. "I guess, I know why you like coffee."

"You do? Oh, wait! That's not it! I just realized it now! I never thought about it before! It's the taste!" said Lyon.

"Sure," Lumina rolled her eyes. "You're easy to please, Lyon."

"What? That's not it!"

"Would you buy a statue if it's shaped like one?" asked Lumina as she furrowed his eyebrows.

"I... well..." Lyon shrugged. "If it's costly, I might not."

Lumina rolled her eyes.

Lyon shrugged as he grinned. "I am me."

"I know," Lumina sighed. "You know, if you're not such a perverted man, you would—"

"Selena would be bathing with blood from those faires," Cecile chuckled.

Lyon shuddered, "Is she really that cold?"

Graham nodded without hesitation, "En!"

"Hehe," Lyon smiled wryly. He couldn't possibly imagine how it would turn out for him when the two of them meet.

"Well with the plan for tomorrow is already set, let's head the sack," said Lyon as he stood up before yawning.

"But you just took a nap?" asked Lumina. "You're already sleepy?"

"It's a nap, Lumina, it's not meant to replace my sleep. Besides, we haven't gotten into the Second Hall yet."

"Then let's go, I will escort you guys," said Renduval.

"Woah, he changed," Lyon laughed.

"S-Shut up," Renduval blushed before he turned around.

"Oi, don't rush Renduval!" complained Lyon before he yawned.

Luvia's goosebumps rose as her eyes widened. She didn't dare to turn around; She knew that Renduval would pass him as he escorted them out. It was too late for her to go to the toilet.

"I didn't even take the second stair yet!" said Renduval as he frowned.

"Hehe," Lyon chuckled.

The group went down the stairs as Renduval led at the front.

Lyon as usual put his hands behind his head and let his lazy demeanor occupy his entire image. His eyelids were hardly opened as he walked forward. It was a fun night, though not the best.

"?!" Renduval's eyes opened wide as he halted. He saw Cyril's and Jiji's faces and quickly knew who was the woman with the brown hair. "Luvia..."
