Endless Fall

Chapter 7: I just want to compensate you

Chapter 7 I just want to compensate you

Gu Quan was silent for a long time: "I'm sorry." Feeling guilty, he said again: "I'll leave that shop in the city center to you."

   "I'm missing something like you?"

"Beautiful, I just want to compensate you."

"It's said to be compensation, but in fact you just want to ask for peace of mind for yourself, right?" Lin Jiao smiled: "Gu Quan, you are really hypocritical."

"No matter what you think, I will not be stingy with what I should give you, I just hope..." Don't hate me.

Gu Quan didn't say the rest.

He has no position to ask her any more.

"Little girl, here it is." The driver in the front row stepped on the brakes and broke the silence with a sound.

Lin Jiao pressed the hang up button without a word, and just dragged two suitcases out of the car when she received a call from Pei Yilan.

   "Beautiful, come out to play?"

   "I'm moving and I don't have time."

Pei Yilan sat up from the sofa: "What house are you moving? Did you quarrel with Gu Quan?"

"No quarrel." Lin Jiao clenched her phone tightly, the corner of her mouth raised slightly bitterly: "I broke up with him."

   Pei Yilan's pupils shrank.

She hurriedly changed her shoes, pushed open the door and ran out: "Where are you now?"

   "Mingxin Mansion."

"Stand still, I'll come right over."

Lin Jiao opened her mouth, and before she could say half a syllable, a beeping sound came from her ear.

She sighed and had to find a most conspicuous place to sit so that she could see.

Ten minutes later, a red sports car came.

Pei Yilan slammed the door of the car with a 'bang', and stood in front of her with a cold look: "What's wrong with that **** Gu Quan?"

She came in a hurry, the straps of her shoes were loose, and even her hair, which was usually well groomed, was messed up by the wind.

It was rare to see her like this, and Lin Jiao's eyes turned red for no reason: "It's nothing."

"Isn't that what?" Pei Yilan pointed at the gauze between her knees, trembling with anger: "Where is he? I'll find someone to beat him!"

"This has nothing to do with him."

   "Don't speak for him!"

"Really." Lin Jiao stabilized her mind and calmed down her turbulent emotions: "I accidentally fell."

Pei Yilan looked at her for a few seconds, making sure that she didn't want to give up without safeguarding her rights.

She asked: "Why did you break up?"

"Let's go in and talk." Lin Jiao glanced at the passing pedestrians and asked her to stop first: "I'll wait for you at Unit 9."

"Well." Pei Yilan didn't ask any further.

The suite at Mingxin Mansion was purchased by Lin Jiao's parents in her freshman year with half of the funds.

She's been here twice, so she's fairly familiar.

"Ding-"

The elevator stopped on the eighth floor. Lin Jiao dragged the box to the right and took out the key in the bag: "Yilan, have you eaten yet?"

"Not yet." Pei Yilan followed her into the room.

She stood at the entrance and looked around: "Why do I feel that your furnishings have changed?"

"It should be my mother who asked someone to change it."

   "Auntie's taste is so good."

Lin Jiao looked at the living room with a warm atmosphere, the dark clouds shrouding her head were also dispelled by the reflected sunlight.

She lay casually on the sofa: "Indeed, my mother is no worse than a designer in this regard."

I still remember that when her parents were not divorced, everything in the family was taken care of by Ms. Lan.

Even though their conditions were not good at the time, she could still feel warmth and happiness from it.

"This painting looks familiar." Pei Yilan pointed to the painting on the wall and asked thoughtfully, "Does Auntie like this style?"

   "My dad likes it."

"No wonder it looks so out of place."

Lin Jiao chuckled: "It's good to get used to it." She opened the app: "What would you like to eat? Fried chicken or barbecue?"

"Barbecue." Pei Yilan opened the suitcase and organized her slightly messy clothes.

She took out several skirts one after another, and found that none of them were the ones Gu Quan liked. She said in surprise, "You really made up your mind?"

"what?"

   "You and that bastard."

Lin Jiao raised her eyes: "Yeah." She looked into Pei Yilan's worried eyes: "I won't look back."

"What if he came to you?"

"impossible."

   "You're so sure..." Sure?

"The one he loves is not me."

After listening to the whole story, Pei Yilan's expression was complicated.

She looked at Lin Jiao, who seemed to be nothing at all, and dared not think about how much grievance she had suffered in this short day.

"Beautiful." Pei Yilan hugged her shoulders, trying to comfort her, but for fear of making her even sadder: "It's okay, I will always be here."

"I know."

"Gu Quan, that **** doesn't know how to cherish it, let's find a better one!"

Hearing her choked voice, Lin Jiao felt less uncomfortable, and even thought about joking.

"Okay, I'll look for it tomorrow." She patted Pei Yilan on the back and poked her phone twice with her fingertips.

   "Not tomorrow, too soon."

   "The day after tomorrow?"

"One month." Pei Yilan is quite serious: "You give me one month, and I will definitely give you the best quality man!"

   "Yes." Lin Jiao responded perfunctorily.

She didn't take it to heart, let alone what kind of 'trouble' this light response would bring.

  *

The night falls, and the bar street near the CBD is wrapped in a faint mist, like a fairyland.

The bright moonlight and neon lights intertwined, lengthening the reflection on the ground, and being smashed by the dense trees.

Lin Jiao stepped on the mottled broken light and was pulled by Pei Yilan into Chi Lai Qing at the end of the street.

There were a few scattered drinkers sitting in the Qing Bar. Under the dim light, their figures seemed to be covered with a thin layer of veil.

The resident on the stage was holding a guitar and flicking, and the unique voice came from the speaker, smoothing her melancholy eyebrows.

Waiter took them to the second floor and took the reserved card from the table: "What do you two want to drink?"

"A set of Drunk Three Immortals and Crane Top Red."

"Okay, do you want a snack?"

"Just serve as many copies as you like." Pei Yilan put the bag aside and turned to open the window: "Jiaojiao, isn't the environment here good?"

"Well." Lin Jiao brushed her hair from her shoulders and looked around: "Do you come here often?"

"No, I've only been here twice."

Pei Yilan waited for the ordered wine to be served, and picked out a glass of Hedinghong for her: "Try it, it's not too high."

   "How tall is not tall?"

   "About ten degrees."

Lin Jiao took two sips, and a sweet fragrance permeated his mouth, covering up the alcohol taste just right.

I have to say that this cup of Hedinghong is the best tasting fruit wine she has ever had.

She looked at the drunk three immortals of different colors, picked up another cup out of curiosity, and tasted it carefully: "This looks like glutinous rice wine."

"It has mashed rice in it."

   "No wonder."

Pei Yilan drank four or five cups, found it boring, and asked Waiter to take two more dice cups.

She shook left and right: "The loser has a drink?"

Lin Jiao smiled: "Okay." She opened the cup first, and played several games with Pei Yilan, regardless of whether she was up or down.

Xinghe: Report to President Pei, Jiaojiao is drinking!

Pei's face was calm, but a flustered one: Coincidentally, I also want to have two drinks.
