Nedam breathed a sigh of relief. He was truly afraid that Adrian was going to refuse again.

If that was the case, he could only look for other people to take on the role.

After receiving the Vice-Captain identity card, Adrian and the rest followed the directions from the staff of the escort company. They went to the equipment warehouse to meet the Captain of the escort mission, Jennis.

As soon as Adrian entered the warehouse, he was greeted by the sight of a man with a cold expression. The man was picking out the weapons in front of him.

As soon as he saw the extraordinary man in front of him, Adrian knew that this must be their Captain, Jennis. He was rumored to be a man that was hard to get close to.

“Hello, Captain Jennis. I’m Vice-Captain Adrian.” Adrian stepped forward and extended his hand politely.

However, Jennis acted as if he did not hear anything. Instead, he was busy choosing his weapon, and the occasional sound of metal colliding could be heard.

However, Adrian did not feel embarrassed. He simply withdrew his hand slowly, knowing in his heart that this man was indeed not easy to talk to.

However, Charles, who valued loyalty, did not allow Adrian to suffer. He immediately said in a very loud voice, “Captain Jennis! Our Vice-Captain Adrian is calling for you! Did you hear him?”

Charles practically shouted these words. Richard instantly covered his ears with his hands, while Adrian smiled helplessly.

“Why are you speaking so loudly?” Jennis raised his arrogant face slightly. He held a sword in his hand and was staring coldly at Charles while asking him in an extremely cold tone.

However, Charles didn’t back down. “Sorry,” he grunted. “I thought you were deaf. That’s why I was talking louder. I hope you don’t mind.”

Jennis furrowed his eyebrows tightly, and a hint of anger appeared on his cold face. He said coldly, “Do you want to die?”

“Hey, what do you mean by that?” Richard immediately stood up and glowered at Jennis.

The two of them usually fought or kicked up a fuss among themselves. However, if they really encountered trouble, they would definitely unite against the outsiders.

Adrian quickly signaled for them to calm down. Then, he looked at Jennis apologetically and said with a smile, “I’m really sorry. They have rather bad tempers, but they’re kind-hearted people. Please forgive them.”

Jennis looked at Adrian calmly and said slowly, “Are you the boy whom the company made an exception for and became the Vice-Captain as soon as you came in?”

“Yes, please guide me on this mission.” Adrian ignored the arrogance in Jennis’ voice and maintained his smile.

However, Charles and Richard were annoyed to hear that. They wanted to stand up for Adrian, but he stopped them. Thus, they had to let it go.

However, just as they were about to change locations to choose their weapons, Jennis suddenly raised the sword in his hand and pointed it at Adrian. He said coldly, “Don’t go. Let’s summon our spiritual beasts and fight. I want to see how you managed to sneak in and how capable you are!”

At this moment, Charles and Richard realized that things were going in a serious direction. They couldn’t cause any trouble when they had just joined the escort company, so they immediately wanted to settle the dispute.

“Adrian, let’s get out of here. Let’s leave this guy alone.” Charles pulled Adrian and wanted to continue walking.

Richard also chimed in, “That’s right. If you have the energy to do that, why don’t you use it to deal with the spiritual beasts and bandits when we set off at night?”
