Evolution: A Warlock’s Rise To Power

Chapter 202: Offered A Deal

Lucan sat high in the air on top of his flying carpet. He looked down below. The people from Baramore came through a shadow tunnel and appeared at the base of the Dragon Spine Hills. Every minute, at least a hundred people walked through the tunnel.

A sea of tents stretched out before him. Currently most of the tents were empty while their owners were helping to build the city. The people of Baramore had come to call this city, New Avalon. Buildings and houses were being erected every couple of minutes.

He was amazed by the speed of construction. He came to accept it as normal after he considered that this place was not the real world. With the help of magic, a lot of things were done in a flash.

Leaving New Avalon behind, Lucan moved towards the fortress in the distance. As he got closer, he activated the eye of Mentas. It was hard for him to find a large area bathed in magic. This was the formation the Frantic Willow used to hide their base camp.

Once Lucan had found them, he contacted Frantic who then opened the formation to let him come inside.

The Windy Willow players were resting, it looked like they had fought a hard battle today.

On one side of their base camp, He noticed a shadow tunnel, once every couple of minutes, somebody would walk out of it. Lucan guessed that these people had died in the earlier battle and were now coming back from the graveyard.

Lucan entered the command tent to find Sturdy, Shifty, and a few others discussing their plans for tomorrow.

"Lucan." Sturdy called out to great him as he entered. "We were able to kill over five thousand elementals today while losing less than a hundred people. If we can have the same performance tomorrow, then the day after the next, we are planning to try and breech the inner fortress."

"Good. Not bad."

"The advanced elementals are a bit of trouble, but they are nothing we can't handle. Give us a couple more days and we will have this place conquered."

"Everything seems to be moving smoothly. I can't stay long, contact me if you have any issues."

Sturdy nodded and then returned to giving out orders to prepare for tomorrow. Having seen everything he wanted to see, Lucan activated a return scroll and appeared in Shadowsweep. He moved to the teleporter and appeared in Destol.

He quickly entered the large manor. After asking a few of the staf, he found that Silent was still in her office.

*Knock* *Knock*

"Come in." Silent said, with out looking up to see who was at the door.

"What's up pretty lady?"

When she heard his voice, Silent looked up and smiled.

"Is it time already, just give me a moment to sigh this, then I will be done for today.

Lucan didn't distract her. She finished reading the document in front of her and signed it after she was satisfied.

When finished, she walked around front and wrapped her arms around Lucan, planting a kiss on his cheek.

"Busy day?" She asked.

"You know it." He said while hooking his arm around her slim waist. "How about you?"

"It was busy, but not too bad. By the way, I told Uncle Bo, that I will be coming over tonight, so we have to go over to their place and say high."

Lucan put on an exaggerated frown while pulling her closer to himself. "No, I don't want to share you. You are all mine." He said while childishly pouting.

"Ha, ha, are you going to look me up?"

"You bet I will, if any dumb knight thinks of saving your princesses self, this dragon will squash them."

"Pfft, yeah, okay." Silent said as she laughed.

"Just you wait, we will see if you can escape me."

They laughed and joked a little longer before logging out of the game.

Since they were once again exiting Evolution early, they were finally back on track with their normal time schedule.

Brax stepped out of his capsule and it was eight thirty in the morning.

Before he could even get to the bathroom, his phone went off. Jenna had sent him a few kiss emojis which he sent right back to her.

He had a quick shower and breakfast. He was planning on heading downstairs to exercise and train when his phone started to ring again. It was the lawyer he had hired to settle the mess with he police department.

"Hello, this is Brax."

"Hello Mr. Tomlin. The district attorney has offered you a deal if you are willing to sign a non-disclosure agreement and drop your lawsuit. What is your opinion?"

"Hmm, what are they willing to offer me?"

"I am not sure. They district attorney asked me to get you to city hall today so you could sign the agreement. I asked about the terms and conditions, but they refused to tell me. They only told me that if you can't get to city hall today, the deal would be restructured. They made it sound as if you would be missing out on a lot if you failed to show up today."

"What? Is that normal? Don't these people want to make a deal, yet they aren't able to show the slightest amount of good will. Since they don't want to even tell us what they are offering, I see no reason to go. It is them who wants to make this happen, not me. Why should I drop all my plans to accommodate them? Do what you want, but I won't be going to city hall today?" Brax said.

He spoke to his lawyer a little longer before he hung up. When he was finished he went to the basement to work out.

Jenna left her house in high spirits. She was having lunch and spending the afternoon with Brax, so of course she was happy.

She was to excited to wait and decided to head over to his place early. She will showered changed and grabbed a bite to eat before running out the door. Her driver took her to his place.

She texted him on the way, but he didn't answer. She wasn't too worried since Brax had told her that he would be around all morning. But to her dismay, when she arrive, his door was locked and he was still not answering his phone.

Marie just happened to walk through the garden and saw her waiting outside.

She didn't hesitate to rush over.

"What is my most Favorite daughter-in-law doing standing outside?" She asked after giving Jenna a hug.

"Brax isn't answering his phone or the door." Jenna explained.

Marie looked at her watch. "Since it is still early, he is probably in the gym in the basement. There is nothing to worry about." She said while dragging Jenna into the main house. Marie spent a moment rooting around inside a desk. "Ah, here it is." She said before handing a key over to Jenna.

"Is… is this really alright?" She asked.

"Why wouldn't it be? You are married to that punk but he didn't even give you a key to his place. If I were you I would teach him a lesson. Forcing you to stay outside an wait, you should give it to him good and not let him off easily." Marie said.

"Thank you Aunty." Jenna said with a warm smile. It was nice to feel accepted from her husbands family.

Marie didn't hold her back and pretended to have something to do. Jenna went back to Brax's place and let herself in. After looking around for a bit, she realized that Marie was probably right, she opened the door to the basement to find the lights on.

She went downstairs but didn't see her husband. He wasn't using any equipment.

Walking across the room she opened the last door quietly to see Brax sitting in the hot tub.

"Hey you." She came up and ruffled his hair, starting him.

"You gave me a heart attack." Brax said after he jumped to the side.

Jenna giggled. "I got a key from Aunty."

"Good, that makes things easier. Do you want to come in and join me?" He asked.

"I would, but I didn't bring a swimsuit."

"Why does that matter? It's not like I'm wearing one."

Jenna looked in the water and blushed but didn't say anything.

Brax teased her. "Are you afraid of showing yourself to me? You have already showed your husband everything before so come on and join me."

Jenna didn't say anything, but she turned around kicked off her shoes. Reaching for the zipper on her, dress she pulled it down. When she looked back she found Brax staring at her has she pulled down the dress to her waist.

"Take a picture it'll last longer." She teased.

*Caphca*

At the noise she looked back and saw Brax really was taking pictures with his phone.

"Stop that you hooligan." She said without trying to hide herself.

She laid her dress on a nearby chair and then set her underwear on top before quickly jumping into the hot tub.

Before she could take a seat, Jenna was quickly pulled into his lap.

She knew her husband wouldn't cross any line she didn't want him to, so even though his hands wandered about she didn't have to worry about him going too far.

After taking care of his urges she settled into his embrace and enjoyed the warm water.
