Evolution: A Warlock’s Rise To Power

Chapter 217: Tango's Evolution

SuperSleuth Sat in his new decorated office on the top floor of a tower in the mountain fortress.  It had been easy enough to to set up their new headquarters inside the fortress and Super was pleased that Lucan didn't charge him rent.

Lucan had told him that he was happy to give the tower to Super since he was a part owner of the company.

Super had been wary of Lucan at first once they became partners, but now he realized that he was truly blessed to gain the warlock as an investor.  Being one of Lucan's direct warlocks was an amazing perk on its own.  He had already amassed a good number of banked experience points and was very satisfied with each purchase he made.

His information network had expanded to several different realms and the people under him had increased by several margins.  Super knew that all his recent boons had come from his agreement to work with Lucan.

So of course when Lucan asked him to help find an NPC he had given it his full attention.  He wasn't ware of the full story but he knew that Lucan was looking for the person on the behest of a powerful devil.  But that didn't matter.  If Lucan asked for help, he would gladly.  And every time he had been rewarded.

'According to my latest reports, the man you are looking arrived in the windy quadrant of the elemental plane yesterday.  He showed up in Zephyr city.'  Super said while telepathically speaking to Lucan.

'Good work I am heading there now, if you hear anything else let me know.'

'Will do, good luck with your hunt.'

Super's interface suddenly exploded with a handful of messages all at once.

'Hold on, I just received several reports from our people in Avalon.'

'How are things going there?'  Lucan asked.

'It seems that when the tiger fled the mountain fearing the dragon, a monkey stepped up to play king.'  Super said.

'How are our people?  Is it anything to be concerned about?' Lucan asked.

'My guys said they should be able to handle it.  And it seems that the acolyte of Silent's is teaching them a lesson.  But nevertheless I will head over and check it out to make sure that things go smoothly.'

'And if they don't go smoothly?  This is important, if your guys can't handle it, take some money from the vault and hire a Willow team.'

'Hey now, don't look down on me.  As the head of a large information network how could I not have the latest news about top notch treasures and skills.  Do you really think I haven't snagged a few for myself?'

'Ha, ha, ha, okay.  If you are confident, then I won't worry about it.  Just make sure the drow have a good place to establish themselves.'

'Don't you worry, I will get it done.  Don't you know that they say that the depths of dark water are unfathomable.'

'Ha, ha, alright.  I got to go, but when I get back we can compete to see who is more mysterious and unfathomable.'

'Pshh, you're on.'

Super ended the communication and chuckled.  It was true that he rarely ever got involved with physical conflict, but that didn't mean he wasn't capable.

He left his desk and headed down two floors to a room that was filled with numerous shadow gates.  He and his people had established passages to many different realms.  Since the ethereal dive ability he bought from Lucan was still on cool down, he would have to go the long way with a show tunnel.  But Super wasn't worried, he had sent some of his best people.  It was unlikely that he would have to act himself, but that didn't mean he wanted to miss out on a good show.

Two shadowy assassins got in line behind Super after he gave a quick wave and three departed towards Avalon through a shadow tunnel.

Tyrannical Kyp was in awe after he activated Tango's ability that had a week long cooldown.  There had been many times recently where he wanted to test it out, but he had never been forced into a situation where he needed to use it.

It would be such a waste to activate a weekly ability in a training ground and then find out he actually needed it to use it a few days later.  He had resisted the urge up to now.  And he couldn't be more please with himself now that he saw it in action.

Tango was over thirty meters tall and he had temporarily gained the strength appropriate for his new form.

Even though the transformation would only last a few minutes, he wasn't concerned.  Tango was now a killing machine.

After Tango had used the evolution crystal to evolve, he had gained many benefits.  His normal size had shrunk but his destructive might had increased.  Originally, Tyrannical Kyp had thought that the shadow core that Tango gained was the biggest perk, but after seeing the quadkong transform after using his weekly ability he, he knew that he had hit the jackpot.

Tango stood in the flaming rubble that had once been the magical research lab while pounding his chest.  The pathetic ants below him had already started to flee.  Activating his new found shadow mana, the quadkong used the new spell that his master had bought for him.  Two large hammers made from solidified shadows consumed all his mana and Kyp quickly passed over a weapon mastery skill and buff.

Tango held the massive hammers in two of his four hands and struck out towards the fleeing Dark Web members.

*Bang* *Bang* *Bang*

Each time a hammer struck, the ground trembled and a player was flattened and squashed beneath its might.  The players that were lucky enough to not be directly target didn't manage to escape unscathed.

The crash of the gigantic hammers were strong enough to quake the earth and know the players off their feet.  They were unable to flee and were like chicken waiting for slaughter.

Tnago didn't keep them waiting for long as his hammers moved at a tremendous speed.

*Bang* *Bang* *Bang*

"ROOAAARRRR!!!!!"  Tango unleashed a frightening roar as he cleaned up the players that dare to obstruct his master.

The beast enjoyed his relationship with Tyrannical Kyp.  He loved nothing more than letting himself get lost in the euphoria battle intent of aa fierce fight.  Tango may be a brute and a muscle head but he wasn't stupid.  He knew that when he let himself go, his rational thinking capacity was greatly diminished.  And that was all the more reason for his appreciation towards Tyrannical Kyp. He just had to smash and pummel once he let himself go while his master would point him in the right direction and watch his back.

Tango was the muscle while Tyrannical Kyp was the brains.

Receiving his masters order, the Quadkong leapt forward, cover three city blocks.  He landed before a group of Dark Web players that had left the city center to help the group that he had just mascaraed.

The biggest issue with red player groups was that they found it hard to trust each other for fear of getting stabbed in the back once they were vulnerable.

Shaken by the surprise attack and attention from the quadkong, the group of players weren't able to organize themselves before Tango let his mighty shadow hammers fall.
