Fox of France

Chapter 314 , The Gospel of Revolution

While talking, Fagin took out a notebook as thick as a large dictionary from a leather bag beside him. It was a plain notebook with a white cover, and on the cover was written a line of text in red pen: "Notes from the Bible."

Several people gathered around. Fagin opened the title page, and a line of words came into everyone's eyes: "I am not here to bring peace to the earth, but to bring forth swords on the earth..."

Several people know that this is a passage in the Bible Matthew. The priest Torres put this sentence here, which obviously has a lot of meaning.

Then flipping back, there was a preface-like text, the handwriting was very scribbled, and it was obvious that Father Torres was very excited when he wrote these words.

"While I was praying just now, a spark of thought suddenly appeared. It seemed to be just a flash, but it suddenly illuminated me. No, it was not a spark, but a lightning in the dark night, enough to separate the sky and the earth , even, is a miracle, just like at the beginning, God said: 'Let there be light'.

For many years, I studied the "Bible" and the works of the theologians in the monastery, a little bit away from this beautiful world created by God. The distance between me and the world gradually grew, and not only did I not care about it, I even thought that the farther away I was from the crowd and the world, the closer I was to God. Looking back now, I am completely dizzy! It stinks of self-righteous, self-important arrogance all over the place.

Inspired by the light just now, I suddenly realized that there is actually no gap between the Bible and the world. The Bible is what God said, but the world, isn't it also God's creation? Just like when we want to know a writer, reading his autobiography is certainly a quick way, but just because we have read his autobiography, we can think that there is no need to read his other creations anymore? How arrogant it is for a reader to claim to know everything about a certain writer just by reading his autobiography. And how can we say that because we read the "Bible", we can completely ignore the whole world-God's most important creation? So those who think they can close their eyes to the world by holding a Bible in their hands are all guilty of arrogance.

We should not only read the Bible, but also the world.

So I shared my thoughts with the abbot of the monastery. But he told me: 'Young man, your thoughts are dangerous, and one of your feet has stepped into the realm of heresy. Satan has entered your heart and bewitched you, quickly abandon your outdated ideas and return to orthodoxy! '

At this time, a sentence from the "Bible" suddenly appeared in my mind: "Woe to you, you hypocritical scribes and Pharisees!" For you are like whitewashed tombs, beautiful on the outside, but full of dead men's bones and all filth within. So you also, outwardly you appear righteous before men, but inwardly you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness. '

The word 'Pharise' comes from Old Hebrew, and we know that it means 'separation', referring to someone who separates from the world in order to maintain so-called purity. They lived strictly according to the law of Moses and thought they were pious, but they were rebuked by Jesus. Why is this? Someone told me that the starting point of the Pharisees was good, to strictly abide by the law of God and keep their hearts pure, but later they deviated from the correct path and became complacent, arrogant and hypocritical.

But were the 'Pharisees' really only later on astray? No, the seeds of arrogance and hypocrisy were planted from the time this sect arose, from the time they intended to separate themselves from the world God had created. Because if only separation can conform to God's will, why did Jesus come to the world? Couldn't he have walked into the desert and never returned? Why did he go to bear the cross for those sinners? Doesn’t this just show that God’s will is not willing to separate from the world? Therefore, when the arrow of the Pharisee was shot, it was already deflected. At first, it was only deflected a little, but the further the arrow flew, the more and more obvious the deflection became.

So I told the abbot that I would leave the monastery and go out into the world. The abbot was furious when he saw that I had ignored his advice, but this did not prevent me from leaving the monastery...

As I roamed around France, I noticed that France was increasingly divided into two worlds. One is the world of the poor, who are hungry, weary, and almost living in hell, without joy or happiness. No, not almost living in hell, but hell on earth. It is said that Dante once saw the gate of hell with his own eyes, and there is a terrible inscription on it: "You who enter, give up all hope." Hunger, cold, and pain are actually not the biggest disaster for the poor. The disaster is that they don't see any hope. Yes, hell is not far away, it is not in the ground, it is in the world.

What was Jesus' first miracle? It was at the wedding feast in Cana of Galilee. At that time the host's wine ran out. They didn't drink alcohol when they got married, so they were poor people. Historians say that there were extremely poor people living in and around Lake Gnisales at that time, people who were poor beyond imagination.

Then Jesus said to the servants, Fill the jars with water, and they filled them up to the brim. Jesus said again: Now ladle out and give to the master of the feast. They sent it. The steward of the feast tasted the water turned into wine, but did not know where it came from. Only the servant who drew the water knew. The master of the banquet called the bridegroom. Said to him: Everyone puts good wine first! Wait for the guests to drink enough before serving the last time. You have saved the good wine until now.

At that time, the time of Jesus had not yet come. But he performed this miracle ahead of time. Why? Is it not because of the love of God. Whoever loves must love their joy. This is the meaning of the first miracle performed by Jesus when he came to this world, and it is also the true meaning of Jesus’ redemption—to bring joy to more people. This is true salvation.

The other world is that of nobles and high priests. Extravagant and licentious, they live a sinful life like Sodom and Gomorrah by exploiting the poor.

Then I saw God's redemption and punishment—that was the revolution.

Revolution is redemption, redemption for those who are in hell. Just like Jesus was always with the poorest people back then. I recognize that the history of the poor has mystical, spiritual connotations. The cry of the poor in our time is the voice of God that Moses heard in the burning bush. The poor burst onto the stage of history, declaring that poverty is not God's will but man's, the consequence of oppressive social structures that should change, can be changed, and are being changed by the poor themselves. And this is liberation, or rather, redemption.

Revolution is also a punishment. Those wicked people who betrayed the masses, those who should have been brothers and sisters under their feet, killed them, ate their flesh, and drank their blood, were punished by God in this revolution , just as God stretched out His hand to strike Sodom and Gomorrah back then.

I gradually understood the meaning of revolution. Then I thought of this sentence in the Bible:

'I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the former heaven and the former earth have passed away, and the sea is no more. ’ This is the sentence in the book of Revelation describing the new world after the end of the world. I never understood it before. But at this time, I finally understood what God meant. The revolution is full of pain, like the end of the world depicted in the Apocalypse, but it is only the end of the old world. The old world, the evil world, will be smashed to pieces by the hammer of the revolution, and after the revolution, a whole new world will unfold before us.

In this world, the sky and the earth are new, and the sea of classes that separates people and separates them will no longer exist.

'I also saw the holy city, the New Jerusalem, which came down from God and came down from heaven, and was prepared, like a bride adorned for her husband. ''I heard a loud voice from the throne say, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men. He will dwell with men, and they will be his people; and God himself will be with them, and be their God." "'

Yes, heaven, the real heaven, is not in the illusory sky, it is in the world. Don't waste your energy looking for the curtain of God in the sky. God's curtain is not in the sky, but in the world. As long as we destroy that old world in the revolution, heaven will appear on earth, and God will live with us. At that time 'God will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor crying nor pain be anymore, for the former things have passed away. ’ My friend, heaven is on earth. Revolution is the only way to bring heaven down, and revolution is salvation! "

"No wonder Jesus said, 'It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to get into heaven.' No wonder the earliest saints who followed Jesus gave up all their personal possessions when Jesus was still alive. No wonder those Romans, those Jews, they all want to kill Jesus." said the butcher.

"But Jesus cannot be killed. After three days, He was resurrected. Because the revolution is also immortal. As long as there are people in the world who need to be saved, the revolution will continue to be resurrected. This is the meaning of Jesus' resurrection. The true Gospel." Fagin said, "I think, if Jesus is alive today, at the beginning of this new century, he must be a revolutionary fighter. One who spreads the gospel of revolution in the new century, and Fighters for it!"

"Amen!" Everyone said together.
