God Of Immortals

Chapter 40: A Yingjie Nightmare [II]

"Hold on, Chai Xing. I'll soon be there."

Fu Hui transmitted to his wife while trying to locate her position. The low-grade Eyeless Shutter arrays used by the wolf lords was still concealing his wife's position. He could brake through the arrays, but it would take him time which he couldn't afford.

"I can't hold on much longer. Please, hurry up."

Fu Hui hurriedly intensified his effort as his wife's voice sounded through the communication stone again.

"A little more time, Chai Xing."

Fu Cha Xing looked at the two wolf lords who were just on the other side of the fire wall, and shook her head. Death was staring her in the eyes, and she knew she could soon enter reincarnation. At least, they would enter samsara with open minds.

"We don't want things to get ugly, White-Lights. Your pillars can't stop us, and you know that."

Worm Blood voiced softly as he shook his head in annoyance.

"Why are you acting this way? Alright, I will make a compromise with you. What about you giving us your own heart only, and we'll leave your son alone? Better?"

"Are we?"

Black Claw asked in a whisper, bright red eyes blazing in anger and confusion. Worm Blood already promised Jim the child's heart. What was he now talking about? Black Claw thought.

"Of course not."

Worm Blood replied softly, giving his friend a wry smile. Slowly Black understood the strategy Worm-Blood was using, and shouted in agreement.

"Yes, we will do exactly. We'll let your son go. We don't even want a child's heart as compensation. What say you, White-Lights?"

"No? Okay then. Don't mind my ultimate Ghost Shadow Claws."

Black Claws flicked his flying claws, and giant claws of dark ghostly river attacked the flame walls, causing seven of the flame walls to crumble.

Fu Chai Xing was knocked against one side of the cave wall, spitting out blood. But she held on to the fire-walls with her will, and quickly swallowed one blood-root pill. The pill started repairing her internal injuries but knew she couldn't take a similar attack head-on. Total rejection set on her face when she saw Worm Blood raises his sabre. She shook her head as her life flashed before her eyes.

"Samsara it is."

"White Lights, I must admit, your foundation is really strong and you have a great weapon. However, you have suffered internal injuries. Do you think you can also withstand my ultimate attack? Since that's what you chose, so shall it be!"

Worm Blood shouted while grinning inwardly. At last, vengeance for a just cause.

"Eclipse Of The Blood Moon."

The sabre light turned into a giant, blood-emitting, red moon, heading towards the flaming walls which covered the entrance of the cave. But just before hitting the flames wall, the gigantic red moon was blocked by a massive hammer head, causing a massive explosion of lights. The two attack moves were swiftly dispersed.

"I'm here, Chao Xing. Where are you?"

Fu Hui's voice boomed out.

"Inside the cave. Hurry."

Fu Chao Xing looked at her son, and tears rolled down her face as she thought of what could have happened. She had thought they were going to die. Fu Yingjie had stared at her crying mother with a raging anger against the two demons outside the cave. He was still furious but happy when he heard the loud voice of his father, again.

"Shadow Wolves! You dare attack my family?! Agony Of Wailing World!"

Fu Hui activated a low grade energy seal and made his ultimate mystical arts move. Streaks of yellow light formed a yellow coloured sobbing wyvern which soared towards the two demon lords. The genius of the Fu clan and one of the revered members of the Nine Golden Stars sect despite being a copper core cultivator.

"Blood Moon Rite."

Worm Blood shouted as he quickly used a life-saving treasure.

"Ghost Shadow Claws."

Black Claws screamed, using his own life-preserving treasure too.

Their defensive moves shattered instantly when they collided with the yellow wyvern of the hammer's light. The killing intent of the giant hammer, which was extremely intense, continued to press forward towards the demon lords.

"Trying to face the Fu hammer? You are surely seeking death."

But before the yellow wyvern could reach the demons, everything froze in place and the wyvern was dispersed.

Yingjie woke up breathing heavily. His mind was startled while his body was shaken. When would the nightmare stop? He wanted to do all he could to make it go away, but knew until he would confront the source, the nightmares were not going anywhere. He had to rescue his own parents. He even promised Yuan Chun Huan to look for her disappeared father, but he was still too weak. He would simply die.

And Yuan Chu Huan still hadn't forgiven him for being alive while her own father was nowhere to be seen. He had sworn to get them back when he would be strong enough. That was the reason he joined the Last Sages sect.

After dressing up, he headed towards the training field.

***

It was a bright and beautiful morning. Ju Feng woke up refreshed and with a great feeling. After taking care of himself, he made his way to the training centre. Feeling good vibes in the air, he smiled as he walked. He reached the outskirts of the training centre, and nodded gently to himself. His favourite spot was empty meaning he would be training without much disturbances.

The training area was incredibly wide. The size of a small village, and was divided into three sections of Zhanshi, Guanjun and Youxiu. The Zhanshi section was for the newer and outer disciples, himself included. Guanjun section was meant for the inner disciples, while the Youxiu section was for those core disciples.

Upon arrival, Ju Feng stood on a spot for several minutes, just looking at the training disciples. There were hundreds of disciples on the training ground practicing different types of techniques and moves. As he walked towards the Zhanshi section of the training ground, he could see the Youxiu section not too far away, and he decided to get a little bit closer.

These were the exceptional core disciples who had already chosen their paths, techniques and arts. Some of them were training together in groups while some were training individually. But the most amazing thing was the execution of their techniques and moves, it was a thing of beauty to behold. Those were top techniques.

He was so lost in joyous trance that he wasn't aware of Fu Yingjie coming up behind him.

"Amazing, isn't it?"

"Yingjie, I didn't even see you there."

"Those were truly great to see. The power of the top level power and techniques. Truly formidable. But if you think you've seen them all, wait till you see the other core geniuses of Last Sages. Their power..."

Fu Yingjie trailed off.

"Yes. It was unbelievable to see young people perform such acts. Unbelievable. I can't wait to see the other geniuses. I can already imagine them. Uhm, not that I haven't seen great powers before. Even my mother is a golden core demigod with really wonderful power, but this is different. This is the young and powerful ones."

Hearing Ju Feng called his mother a golden core demigod, Fu Yingjie's heart skipped and beat very fast. A demigod! Could she have enough power to assist him? Would she even aid him? Should he ask for help? Could there be a way for his own family now be saved now? How true were Ju Feng's words? Fu Yingjie was in deep thoughts as they moved to the Zhanshi section.

Ju Feng decided to practice the newly learned Swift Steps. It was a low grade technique for the outer and new disciples. Despite being a low grade technique, it was better than the general Flash Steps technique. He already learned the technique would take him quite a time to master, hence he had resolved to practice it more than often.

"Maybe it will help me move a little faster instead of crawling all the time."

Ju Feng laughed, patting his own leg. He could see some of the new disciples already grasping the basics of the agility technique. He began practicing the Swift Steps technique for a time before he was joined by Fu Yingjie who had also decided to train to keep his mind clear off his worries. As they were training together, Ju Feng took one step only to find himself several yards from the initial place he was.

"Whoa."

He exclaimed. The technique was indeed faster than the Flash Steps. He tried taking the Swift Steps but couldn't make it work. Still, he was very happy with the proceedings. It wouldn't take him too long to learn the basics of the Swift Steps. The basics are the first steps in learning a technique in the martial world.

While they were training, Ju Feng would occasionally glance at Fu Yingjie and see his troubled soul through his eyes. Probably due to what was between him and the lightning girl. Not wanting to get involved in something he was called into, Ju Feng maintained his peace and continued training.

After having enough for the day, he decided to stop his training, moving towards Fu Yingjie who had already halted his training for the day too. They left the training centre and went their different ways, unaware of the gaze of elder Cao Wang Xiu through the scrying orb .

"Hm."

Elder Cao Wang Xiu nodded before making her way to the sect's main hall.
