Harry Potter and the Legend of the Temple

Chapter 25 The nightmare begins

"Oh, Ron, you shouldn't have done that."

Hermione was a little dissatisfied with Ron's behavior. After all, no one wanted to hear others say they were ugly, including ghosts.

"I'm just stating a fact Hermione." Ron spread his hands, "Besides, she's just a ghost."

"Just a ghost?" Hermione disagreed, "Ron! I think you should apologize to her."

"Apologizing to Myrtle? Come on." Ron sneered, "No matter what we say, she always thinks we are mocking her."

Hermione and Ron started arguing on the sidelines, and Harry felt helpless facing their two partners.

"They're always like this," said Ginny. "It's been particularly noisy this year. I don't know how Harry can stand it."

Louis shook his head. He looked at the direction where Moaning Myrtle was walking, wondering if he could get something out of her about the secret room.

Just then twelve ghost-like horses rushed into the house, each with a headless horseman sitting on it. Louis' expression when he saw Nick was not very good, even a little stiff.

The horse galloped to the center of the dance floor, raised its front legs, and stopped standing on its hind feet. A tall ghost stood in front, his bearded head tucked under his arm, blowing the horn, then took a step forward and raised his head high. That way he could see the crowd. He walked over to the nearly headless Nick and put his head back on his neck.

"Nick," he yelled. "How are you? Is your head still there?"

He laughed heartily and patted Nick on the shoulder.

"Welcome, Birdmore," Nick replied stiffly.

"That's disgusting." Ginny couldn't help but feel disgusted as she watched Bodmer remove his head.

"A living person?"

When Birdmore saw Lewis and others, he jumped up pretending to be surprised, and his head dropped again.

"Do you think this is funny, sir?" Louis looked at Ginny's pale face and stood up to face Bodmer.

"Oh? The little guy is unhappy?" Ghost Birdmore put his head back on. "If you are not used to our ghost's jokes, you should go back and drink milk as soon as possible."

The Headless Knights burst into laughter upon hearing this.

"It's not that I'm not used to it, I just want to remind you that this is not your territory, Birdmore." Louis sneered at him, "This is Hogwarts, and it's our friend Nick's death anniversary party. I think If you’re not here to celebrate your birthday, you’d better get out.”

The atmosphere was tense, with Nick, Bloody Barrow, and some of the resident ghosts of Hogwarts standing behind Louis. Bodmer's expression was a little stiff, and then he turned his horse's head and left here with his headless horseman.

"Thank you, Louis." Nick expressed his sincere gratitude to Louis after seeing Birdmore leave.

"Oh, it's nothing Nick. It's just that I'm sorry you may not be able to join the Headless Horseman in the future."

"Bodmer didn't intend to let me join anyway." Nick spread his hands. Being able to join the Headless Knights is the ghost's greatest honor, but this Bodmer is really a bit arrogant. Nick had applied before, but... This guy refused because he had not completed the U-turn.

Louis's move greatly increased the goodwill among the ghosts at Hogwarts. They surrounded Louis and the others, cheering endlessly.

But there was one bad thing about this banquet. Since the ghosts didn't need to eat, everyone couldn't help but look hungry after the carnival.

"Gosh, I never thought these ghosts could have so much fun."

"I'm starving, Hermione," said Ron. "Maybe we should go to the kitchen and have a look. There seems to be some pudding in there."

"Looking for the house elves, oh, they don't rest on Halloween, either?" Hermione couldn't help but feel a little sympathy for these elves.

"Wait a minute, isn't it good for so many of us to go to the kitchen?" Louis counted the number of people. In the end it was decided that Ron and Ginny would go to the kitchen, while Harry, Hermione and Louis would go to the common room.

When the three of them ran to the third floor, Harry suddenly stopped. He motioned to Hermione and Louis not to move around, and pressed his ears against the wall, as if listening for some noise.

"Harry, what's wrong with you?" Hermione was deeply surprised by this.

"I seemed to hear some sounds, the cold and murderous sounds, as if they were hunting."

"Sound, what sound." Hermione was stunned for a moment, and she and Louis looked at each other.

"The sound seems to be moving, it's going that way!" Harry waved for Hermione and Louis to follow.

It was not only Hermione who was surprised, but also Louis who was stunned for a long time.

"Oops, is it a basilisk?" Louis' heart sank, "That's not right, I obviously put the diary next to me."

The next scene confirmed Louis' guess, because not only Harry heard the cold voice, but Louis also heard it.

But what Louis himself didn't expect was that he was also a snake talker.

"...tear...bite...kill..."

"I'm so hungry...I've been waiting for a long time..."

"...kill...it's time to kill..."

"This way." Harry led Louis and Hermione to follow, but just around the corner, they met a Slytherin freshman, Astoria.

"What are you doing here?" Louis asked as he saw Astoria's figure in a hurry.

"The Halloween party has just ended. I just forgot something and went back to get it. It was you. Why didn't I see you at the party?" Astoria still looked domineering.

"I smell blood. I smell blood."

"It's going to kill someone!" Harry yelled, and Louis took Astoria's hand and ran in the direction of the sound.

"Let go! Who, who is going to kill someone?" Astoria's face looked a little unhappy.

"Over there, look!" Hermione pointed to the shining wall, with two lines of words written in blood on the wall:

"The mysterious chamber has been opened. Be careful, those who are enemies of the successor."

"What's hanging on it?"

Astoria couldn't help but be a little scared, and no matter what she said before, she kept grabbing Louis' hand this time and refused to let go.

A cat was hung on the wall like a dead body, with pools of water underneath. Mrs. Norris's eyes were widened, and even though Louis was mentally prepared, he was still shocked.

"Harry, Hermione, Louis! Are you okay?" Ron's voice came from a distance, followed by Ginny Weasley.

"Hiss~" Ron couldn't help but gasped when he saw this scene.
