Harry Potter: The Path of Destiny

Chapter 23 Snape’s Foot Injury

Since the troll incident, Hermione has become different. She is less concerned about breaking school rules, which makes her less lecturing and more lovable. She is now very close to Harry and Ron, often checking their homework and giving them the correct answers. She also gets along well with Nitya, which is very helpful for Nitya's Herbology class, which she has never been good at.

Originally, Nitya was also weak in potions, but as Hermione said before, Snape's punishment has become the biggest help to Nitya's improvement in grades.

Snape's punishment of Nitya was not as symbolic as Michelle said, just one or two times. The content of the punishment has also changed from copying the formula at the beginning to brewing potions. The punishment has become more and more like after-school tutoring. Hermione even envied Nitya for being punished, but the premise is that the teacher is not Snape.

Snape's attitude towards Nitia has not changed. He rarely talks to Nitia. He does his work alone, and Nitia also does her own things silently. This situation reminds Nitia of the time at Field Manor, when she and Mr. Field also did their own things without disturbing each other. Sometimes Nitia enjoys this state, and the original Black Friday has become less difficult.

"Is the matter of the troll really as Miss Granger said?" Snape suddenly asked Nitia.

Nitia was startled, and her hand trembled unconsciously, causing a few more drops of the potion that originally only needed two drops to be dropped. Several balls of hot air instantly emerged from the potion jar. Nitia was so scared that she quickly extinguished the fire, and the heat stopped, but the potion was already useless.

"How many times have I said that potions are a rigorous matter, why don't you understand?" Snape said coldly.

"Sorry, professor, I will pay attention." Nitia wanted to say that if you didn't scare me by talking suddenly, how could this situation happen? But she didn't dare to say it. She had come here so many times. Although they didn't communicate much, she had basically figured out Snape's temper. You can't go against his will.

"Tell me about what happened on Halloween night!" Maybe because he knew that it was because of his sudden question that Nitya was frightened and dropped a few more drops of potion, he was in a good mood today and didn't continue to criticize. According to his character in the past, he would definitely scold you mercilessly for the slightest mistake.

"That day was just like Hermione said! She went to find the troll alone, and we were worried, so we went to find her, and then luckily we knocked out the troll together." This was what Hermione said that day, so Nitya had to stick to this statement.

"Is it really the case?" Snape stared at Nitya, as if he wanted to see if she was lying.

"That's the fact!" The general situation of the matter was actually similar, but Hermione didn't take the initiative to find the troll, and other than that, it was basically in line with the facts, so Snape's eyes didn't make Nitya feel guilty.

"Next time you dare to do something so reckless, you won't be so lucky." Snape couldn't see any flaws, so he had to believe them for the time being.

"Professor, can I ask a question?" Nitia said boldly.

"What do you want to ask?" Snape said. His expression was unfriendly, as if to say that if you dare to ask any strange questions, I will make you look good.

"What do you think of Professor Quirrell?" In fact, Nitia wanted to ask about his foot injury, but it was obvious that he would not answer this question.

"Besides being a straw bag, what else can it be?" Snape answered without thinking, with disdain in his eyes, "Why are you asking this?"

"Just curious, he always wrapped a big scarf on his head, and I think he is very mysterious." Nitia said.

"It's just a trick." Snape said.

After the short conversation, it returned to a quiet state again. Perhaps because of the foot injury, Snape let Nitia leave early today.

Coming out of Snape's office, Nytia began to think about the relationship between Snape and Professor Quirrell. From Snape's words, he was very disdainful of Professor Quirrell. They should not have a cooperative relationship. Were Professor Quirrell's strange behavior and Snape's leg injury two separate things? Snape's wound was obviously caused by a sharp object, so it was definitely not caused by the troll. Professor Quirrell's strange behavior basically proved that he was the one who put the troll in. What was his purpose? Was Snape's injury related to his purpose? Nytia was puzzled. She felt that she was missing some key factors.

"Nytia." As Nytia was walking and thinking, someone called her.

"Malfoy? What's the matter?" Nytia was surprised. Malfoy hadn't spoken to her for a long time.

"I heard that you subdued a troll on Halloween." Malfoy was alone, which was rare. Usually, he would have a few followers following him wherever he went.

"Yes, that's right." Nytia replied.

"You are so arrogant that you dare to fight against the troll. You were lucky to subdue the troll this time, you know?" Malfoy said these words with anger instead of sarcasm.

"Yes, I was lucky to have a life. Do you want to teach me a lesson?" Nitia was a little impatient. This was the second person who said this to her today.

"I..." Perhaps feeling Nydia's impatience, Malfoy didn't know what to say and hesitated for a long time.

"If there's nothing else, I'm leaving." After saying that, Nydia turned and left. She was now focused on figuring out what Quirrell wanted to do.

After Nitya walked away, Blaise walked out from the corner of the wall.

"Why don't you just ask her if she's hurt," Brace said.

"I don't care about this." Malfoy said angrily, "Why are you here? Following me?"

"We happened to be passing by. We met by chance." Blaise said to Malfoy with a smile. He would not admit that he was following him all the way.

"Only a fool believes what you say." Looking at Blaise's smiling face, Malfoy knew that this guy was not telling the truth, but he was too lazy to care about it now, so he left after saying that.

After dinner, Harry decided to ask Snape for the "Quidditch Origins" he borrowed from the library, because he would have a game tomorrow, and only this book could relax his nerves. But when he came back, he didn't bring back the book, but he brought back a message.

The injury on Snape's foot was caused by the three-headed dog locked in the corridor on the fourth floor. When the crowd was evacuated on Halloween, Harry and Ron saw him walking in the opposite direction. They are now It has been determined that Snape was the one who put the troll in, and then took the opportunity to steal the things guarded by the big dog.

The truth about Snape's injury made Nydia deny the previous idea that Snape's injury and Quirrell's behavior were two different things. Now it seems that they are more like accomplices. Quirrell put in the troll to attract people's attention, and then Snape Nep takes the opportunity to steal something. Is this the truth of the matter? But Snape's attitude didn't seem like he was working with Quirrell? Who would find a idiot to be an accomplice? Or did he lie?

Or there is a more bold idea, they are opposites, Snape has insight into Quirrell's plan, so he runs to stop Quirrell when everyone is evacuating.

There is still a lack of factual evidence to prove all these conjectures, so Nidia does not plan to tell Harry and others about all this for the time being. She decides to observe it slowly.
