Harry Potter: The Path of Destiny

Chapter 255 Information Provider

On the next day, Hermione and Ron sat down to have breakfast together in a friendly manner, as if the quarrel the previous day had never happened. Nydia felt very incredible about this.

"How on earth did you do it," Nydia asked Hermione in surprise, "Did you change everything in one night?"

"Of course, because we talked about all the problems." Hermione said nonchalantly. "I suggested to you that you have to talk about all the problems to solve them, and don't keep a cold war."

Hermione's words made Nydia unconsciously turn her eyes in the direction of Slytherin House. Draco and Blaise were chatting about something. He seemed to feel Nydia's gaze and looked towards Nydia's. Looking in the direction, he smiled happily at Nidia, and Nidia quickly looked away after returning a reluctant smile.

Nydia was thinking, should she go to Draco to clarify the matter, even if it meant having a big quarrel with him, as Hermione said?

The owls that delivered letters in the morning flew into the restaurant in droves, and Hermione excitedly looked up into the sky and looked around.

"What are you looking at? Percy's letter was just sent yesterday. He won't reply to us so soon." Ron said to Hermione.

"No, I didn't order a copy of the Daily Prophet for Percy's letter," Hermione explained. "I don't want to have to know everything from other people all the time."

The appearance of the words "Daily Prophet" made Nidia feel nervous. She was worried that another report about Rita Skeeter would appear in the newspaper.

"I think that one is coming for you," Harry said, pointing to a gray owl flying towards them.

"But it didn't carry a newspaper..."

Just when Hermione was confused, something even more surprising happened. Several owls flew in her direction at the same time, and letters of various sizes were piled in front of Hermione.

"What are these?..." Hermione opened one of the letters in confusion, "Damn, this is so ridiculous!"

Hermione's face turned red with anger. She threw the letter in her hand aside, and then went to look at other letters. Nidia curiously took the letter that Hermione threw away, and found that it actually contained some insulting words for Hermione. .

"They're all these kind of letters!" Hermione opened a few more letters and said desperately.

Nydia looked at it, and the content of all the letters probably meant that Hermione was a bad girl, that she was not worthy of Harry, and that she hoped she could leave Harry, and there were even some more unpleasant swear words. It seems that these people were influenced by Rita Skeeter's report.

"It's unbelievable that so many people really believe those lies about Rita Skeeter!" Nydia read the letter and prayed that the report wouldn't really be related to Draco.

"Oops!" When Hermione was opening the last letter, a stream of yellow-green liquid sprayed onto her hand, and large yellow blisters immediately appeared on her hand.

"Is this the pus from the Babo tuber?" Nidia glanced at the yellow-green liquid.

Hermione burst into tears from the pain. She hurriedly used a napkin to wipe the pus on her hands, but her hands were already covered with scars and were severely swollen.

"You'd better go to the hospital quickly." Harry said worriedly.

"I'll go with you!" Nidia said.

Hermione covered her hands and hurried out of the restaurant, with Nydia following closely beside her.

"Nydia! What happened?" The chaos on Gryffindor's side caught Draco's attention. When he saw Nydia running outside, he immediately followed him, "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine, it's Hermione..." Nidia glanced at Hermione who had run away and said, "Hey... I'll find you later!" After saying that, Nidia hurriedly chased Hermione.

In the school hospital, Madam Pomfrey opened the pustules on Hermione's hands one by one, squeezed out all the pus inside, then applied a layer of ointment on her, and finally used a thick layer of gauze. Hermione's hands were wrapped around each other, making it look like she was wearing a pair of heavy gloves.

"Actually, you don't have to follow me." Hermione said to Nydia. She looked at her hands, and then sighed helplessly.

"I'm really sorry..." Looking at Hermione's hand, the words of apology came out of Nydia's mouth unconsciously.

"Why did you say sorry to me?" Hermione asked confused.

"I..." Nidia didn't know how to explain.

"Nidia?" Hermione looked at Nidia in confusion, "These people all sent letters because of Rita Skeeter's report. The one who should be sorry should be Rita Skeeter." right!"

"But... what if someone provided the information to Rita Skeeter?" Nydia said.

"Someone provided information to Rita Skeeter?" Hermione raised an eyebrow and said, "Then I will be very curious, who is this person? The content written by Rita Skeeter was secretly written by Krum. Tell me, I want to know how the person who provided the information knew."

"You mean, only you and Krum should know those words!" If that's the case, then Hermione's report may not be the information Draco provided to Rita Skeeter.

"That's right. If there is really someone who provides information, I think it can only be Krum, but he will not do this because he is very angry about this report like me." Hermione said, "I'm really curious how on earth Rita Skeeter knew."

"So that's it." Nydia breathed a sigh of relief knowing that the report had nothing to do with Draco.

"Are you doubting Malfoy?" Hermione asked, "your so-called informant."

"Hey! Why do you think so?" Nydia was surprised how Hermione knew what she was thinking.

Hermione smiled, "I don't think you'd say sorry to me for anyone else."

"Okay! You guessed it right. I did suspect that Draco was providing information to Rita Skeeter." Nydia admitted, "He lied to me about his whereabouts, and then secretly went to meet Rita Skeeter. Meet Tower Skeeter."

"It does sound a bit suspicious, but I still say what I said, if you have any questions, please speak up." Hermione said. "Now, we should go to class. If the time is right, we should go directly to Hagrid's Care of Magical Creatures class now. You can take this opportunity to talk to Malfoy."

When they crossed the lawn and came to Hagrid's hut, the lesson had just ended. Everyone was holding varying amounts of gold coins in their hands, and everyone seemed to be having a great time.

"You're late!" Draco walked up to Nydia, "It's rare for Hagrid to get a pretty good magical animal, but you missed it."

"What did I miss?" Nydia took a gold coin from Draco's hand and looked at it. It was an Irish leprechaun gold coin. They threw such gold coins all over the field at the Quidditch World Cup. This gold coin is not real and will disappear automatically after a while.

"It's Niffler! They like to collect shiny things, which are great for treasure hunting." Draco pointed to the wooden box placed aside, "They have all been put back, you can go there to see look."

"Ah! Let's do it next time!" Nidia looked around. Most of the other people had packed up their things and started to return to the castle. "Can I talk to you?"

Draco looked at Nidia in surprise, then smiled and took Nidia's hand and said, "Then let's go for a walk by the Black Lake!"

Nydia nodded and followed Draco to the Black Lake. After the two held hands and walked around the Black Lake for a short half circle, Draco stopped and turned around to look at Nitya.

"What's wrong with you?" Draco reached out and lightly traced Nydia's cheek with his fingertips, "You look very worried."

Nydia looked at Draco seriously, "I want to know why you secretly ran away to see Rita Skeeter."

The smile on Draco's face suddenly froze. What he had been worried about was indeed going to happen. He turned his head and avoided Nydia's eyes.

"Draco! Answer my question, I saw..." Draco's evasive behavior made Nydia panic.

"Do you believe me?" Draco said after a long silence.

"I really wish I could believe you...but..." Nidia said sadly, "You lied to me, twice! I want to know why now!"

Draco grabbed Nydia's arms tightly, "Nitya, listen to me, I'm sorry for lying to you, but I had to do it."

"Did you provide information to Rita Skeeter?" Nidia tried hard to suppress her emotions.

Draco gritted his teeth and nodded. He held Nydia's arm tighter, as if he was afraid that she would escape.

"Did you also participate in Hermione's report?" Nidia felt like she was sinking to the bottom of the lake little by little, so depressed that she was almost suffocating.

"No! Granger's report has nothing to do with me. She is interested in Potter..." Draco said.

"Harry!" Nydia thought for a moment. There were no recent reports about Harry, which meant that Rita Skeeter still had a report that slandered Harry. "What did you tell her? "

"It's not important, Nydia!" Draco shook his head, "Believe me, it won't take long for everyone to forget these stupid reports, and it won't have any impact on him!"

"This is very important!" Nydia said loudly, "Draco, I know how it feels to be misunderstood by everyone and looked at in a different way. I know how uncomfortable it feels to be unable to explain anything!"

"That's why I can't let something like this happen to you again!" Draco said excitedly.

Nydia was stunned. She looked at Draco and was speechless for a long time. She took a big breath and tried to calm down her emotions, but the sad feeling was like a flood that had burst a dam and spread everywhere.

She felt tears welling up in her eyes, and she felt her body shaking slightly involuntarily.

"So... you used Harry's news to replace the report that was originally going to be written about me?" Nydia said with difficulty, "That's why you can be so sure that Rita Skeeter will never publish anything about me. Report!”

Nitya shook her head in disappointment, "I would rather publish my report than betray my friends to gain peace."

"I have to do this... Nydia, forgive me..." Draco looked at Nydia pleadingly.

"You did this for me, and I shouldn't blame you, but..." Nydia broke away from Draco's hands, "I need some time to digest this... I need to calm down."

"No!"

Draco stretched out his hand to pull Nydia back to him, but Nydia avoided it. She stepped back and said, "I don't want things to get worse between us..."

Nydia turned and left, leaving Draco standing there in pain.
