I Became A System

Chapter 72 - Token

I was baffled. Not knowing what I should do, only left to be frozen. Just how can he see me?

Verxal was making a frowning expression. While still looking at me, I couldn't help but have disbelief.

He has a confident demeanor that looks into my soul. There's no way this is possible.

"Remove that invisibility coat before I stab you."

Huh?... Invisible coat?

No way…

I really thought that he can see me. But now that he can't, I made a breath but it was still not relieving. Somehow, he can still feel my presence which is not possible. Only Ellena can see me.

"Step out." He ordered in an authoritative voice.

He really can't see me but it still defies the logic that Ellena should be the only one who can see me. Does this imply that I am near to existence?

I just sighed.

It's a waste of time, he is still determined to see me. Perhaps he does have an ability to see through, perhaps enhance his senses. Since I was gazing at him earlier, maybe it sends him a signal of my presence.

Well, I think I know in particular what he can do, perhaps he has something senses enhancer in his ability that affects his subconscious.

Nah… I get bored, I'll just leave him alone. Maybe if I stay here, he won't continue to move. Just forget about the hidden room. I still have time to see it myself now that I know where it exists.

Without any complication, I left the room to go back to Ellena that seems to be inside the building.

Verxal was left startled. Inside his mind, he was panicking that perhaps there's someone who discovers their hidden room. He gathers his courage to look at the mysterious presence behind him.

At first, he was just bothered by something, however, when he got sure that someone is gazing at him, he halts his movements to find the person.

But alas, he can't see one. Despite his threatens, no one attacks, nor move. And just a moment later, the presence disappeared like a bubble.

'I am sure that someone was here.' He thought inwardly before going back to his business.

While still bothered by it, he shook his head to get back into his cause.

'I should focus on this one. Now that we have an S-rank monster, the HQ can have another possible breakthrough in this path.'

Eagerly, he opened the hidden door to only step downwards in the stair of a dark room.

He steps on every step, then takes a halt at the end of the stairs.

"Location Target: Headquarters."

Just after he said it, a bright light suddenly appears, almost drowning him. However, it wasn't the case, the light took him like it was eating him whole, then after a second, he disappeared from the dark room, only to appear in another room that seems to be different in style in the dark room.

It was bright with Luminant stone. An empty room made of blocks of grey bricks, made on a space of 2 meters square.

Then, a door appeared after it. He entered then finally arrived at what he calls headquarters.

An office of scientists – a laboratory.

What is she doing here? Did she perhaps regain her energy and decided to went to Verxal? Maybe. It won't hurt to ask her.

"Aaron, are you here?" I heard her calling me through her mind.

Because of my connection to her through being her system, mostly her will of calling me, it's easy to hear. However, when normal instances like thinking, I can't hear her unless she decided to let me hear.

"Yeah, I'm here."

Without wasting any efforts, I ventured to the first floor to fetch her.

However, when I saw her, her clothes seem trampled. It's wrinkle from the bottom to top. Since it was thin garments, crinkles can be easily seen.

Did something happen?

"What happened?" I asked at the moment I got to her side.

'Nothing. I just fought, used my ability to pass through the guards.' She answered while grinning in delight, somewhat remembering what she did.

Suspicious…

"What really happened? You seem to be in a good mood." I added.

She shrugged before answering. "Nothing in particular, since the guards don't believe the token to be authentic, I just knock them out." Still with a gleaming face.

So it was just it. I'm not bothered by it anyways.

"Why did you left the room? Are you looking for Verxal?" I asked.

"Yes. I need my things back."

I just sighed at her. This is the reason why I suggested exchanging the Inventory to not be bothered by luggage. However, this girl has some problems that she still likes to carry some of her things.

A problematic really. Since she is finding for Verxal, perhaps we could just ask the servants in this place. I really don't know where Verxal is right now. If he entered that room, maybe it will take more time to see him.

"Okay. Let's find his office or something. Ask one of the servants."

Even I know where he might be right now, we can still wait before he came back. In that way, things will start to be clear… somehow.

Before meeting with Aaron, Ellena was walking towards the yellow-colored tall building. Built in 4-story, she just lifted her head above to see the tall building. Despite it not being wide as the mansion of Lumberts, it was still shouting some brilliance in it.

The height of it tells that it was a relevant building. Since it really is the most relevant, and the main building where the family lives, she decided to enter it so that she can get her things back.

There are still things she needs to ask, in particular about the Moonlight Tribe. It is still guilty to think that she let that massacre happen. And now that the fighter ratio of that tribe declines, their security bothers her.

She steps up the platform of the wide twin back door, but before she could enter, she was halt by two unique-uniformed individuals.

'They must be the elite guards.' She thought inwardly, taking out the token that Verxal gave her.

She handed it out before continuing but she was halt again.

"Why? It must be enough to let me enter right?" She complained.

However, the two just inspected her stature from toes to head before speaking. "Where did you get this?"

'Really? Are they suspecting me of stealing it?' She couldn't help but raise her eyebrow in surprise.

It might be the authenticity? However, they asked her where she got it so they must be suspecting her background. Not just she was wearing an ordinary patient gown, but the aura she emits seems to be ordinary too, which is contrary to the status she have since she got the token.

But little did they know, Ellena was just a humble person that they can't detect any arrogance in her status.

"We are asking you again, where did you get this?" The two asked in an authoritative tone.

Ellena just sighed before answering. It seems to be useless to not mention that Verxal gave it to her.

"Your Young Master gave it to me since he wants me to not have a hassle entering the building."

The two didn't respond, and after some moments, Ellena saw herself flying out of the platform.

She was baffled at first. Why would they be this disrespectful when they are just guards? But she didn't know that Elite Guards are arrogant since they got a little authority over the servants and normal visitors.

"You dare to use the name of the Young Master? Get lost before we punish you. You must be a newcomer so you don't know the rules, when you got a token, return it to the elite guards since you are too insignificant."

At those words, Ellena just couldn't help but grit her teeth.. Not because of frustration, but of delight since she got a reason to try her body.
