I Became A System

Chapter 75 - Foundation

As soon as Verxal's secretary shut the door close, she violently stumps back to her sit. Feeling irritated by how the woman earlier acted higher than her. If not for her job, she could be rude to that woman, alas, she can't risk it since it is the only way for her to see Verxal who she really adores.

"Just who does that bitch think she is? That confidence for a mere average girl thinks that he could just call young master by his name! Argh! If not for my job, I have attacked that bitch for being disrespectful to the young master."

She vents out all of her anger at Ellena, almost crumpling the parchment paper of her table.

"Shit." She cursed as she realized that she almost tear the parchment.

She sighed after finally calming down. Though it wasn't really bad, she just can't forget about it. But since she got to know how to fix down her emotions in a blink, she continued reading the contents.

Moments later, she heard the door just open. Her eyes flickered in delight that finally, she could see Verxal who rarely do his paper job, making her not see him commonly.

Just when she was about to greet Verxal that enters the room, she was frozen when she saw a female following him.

'What's she doing?' She pondered, but for a little moment, she started to tremble when she realized what she just has done.

'Don't tell me that she is really related to young master?!'

Freaking out inwardly, she stutters in her greeting.

"W-Welcome back, Young Master!"

There are still unnoticeable nervous within her. As she could felt that sweat is breaking on her forehead, she hesitantly raised her head.

"You… Jane… Why did you not let miss Ellena come inside? Why did you let her wait outside?"

Jane's eyes widen as she heard Verxal demanding an explanation. It wasn't something uncommon, however, what she was surprised is the tone of irritation in his voice.

"Y-Young Master… I…" But before she could continue, she was interrupted by Verxal who was enraged at making his visitor wait outside, standing up.

"Didn't I tell you that if someone who came with the name of Ellena Lumbert, let her in despite what garment she wears?"

'She's that Lumbert?!' She exclaimed in her mind. Nervously thinking that she just became rude to someone above her caliber.

Trying to explain, she stuttered once again in her talk. But, just as sweats started to break down on her forehead, Ellena intervened.

"I-I don't kno-"

"It's okay Verxal. Don't pressure her too much. I am also at fault for not introducing myself. However, I also understand if I introduce myself without identification, I am still at disadvantage. So can we just move on about what happened?" Ellena said in a manner where she exceeds authority in both of them.

They are both from a county family, but in terms of influence and political power, Lumbert is greater than Murphey since they only focus on clearing monsters while Lumbert focuses on having people.

Verxal just nodded before dismissing her secretary.

"Get out for a moment. I'll go back to you after we talk."

Jane bowed before leaving the room. As she got out, sweats nonstop formed with her knees also started to break down in anxiety.

"Just what I did to myself?" She mumbled in despair.

Meanwhile, in the room, Aaron was making a satisfied expression, more appropriate from what he saw. He was laughing inside when he just saw Jane trembling in fear. Though there was no point emerged from her, it was still a delightful scene for him.

"Please take a seat." Verxal offered.

Ellena nodded before sitting down on the couch. While Verxal was getting Ellena's thing in his closet, he recalled the strange feeling of being gazed at.

He stopped for a moment to inspect the surrounding, that, making Ellena ponder why he just halts.

"Is there something wrong?" She asked.

"Nothing." Verxal shook.

But Aaron who was looking at them has a clue why Verxal took a pause. It was because of his presence that Verxal can feel.

'This guy… must have a unique ability.' Aaron suspected.

Finally taking Ellena's bag, he handed it over to the table. Smiling before sitting down to Ellena's level.

"Please forgive me for taking it too long to get this back to you."

"It's okay. What's your question anyway?"

"Oh! It's about what you are doing in that cave. Why are you there anyway?" He asked, piquing his interest in Ellena's whole identity.

"I was just there in assistance to the Moonlight tribe. Since that demon appears to be wearing human skin, I tried to help them to kill the so-called 'threat' but alas, it was the other way, we were supposed to be killed." Ellena answered in dispirit tone, almost remembering the scene she saw in that cave.

"But why are you in that place in the first place? In the tribe exactly."

"Well, I was from the Gustav City, the capital of Lumbert County Territory. And I was on my way here, at the Phlabian City so I decided to take a shortcut at the rainforest to reach the city in less than a week if ran."

Verxal was speechless after hearing Ellena's story. 'She must be at least strong to qualify to venture in that dangerous forest.'

"I see… So it was unfortunate of you stumbling upon that tribe."

"Yes… Just forget about it. What happened to them after it?" She asked, changing the topic.

"They decided to change their location, still secluding away from the civilization." He said.

Ellena nodded. "Okay. They must be devastated by what happened to their men. Why are you there anyway? I haven't asked you this."

"We are there for subjugating remnants of overflowing dungeon. Since there is another team managing the overflowing dungeon, we went there to kill the remnants since they are from Forestal Threat Level dungeon."

"So your family is really an adventurer bloodline," Ellena mumbled in a low tone, but enough for him to hear.

"Yes. Are you also an adventurer? From your talent, you must be a high-ranker." Verxal asked in anticipation.

But Ellena just shook his head, making him in disbelief.

"I am just a bronze-ranker." Ellena cut his excitement.

"What?! But you can kill a demon, so you must be trained!"

"Yes, I am trained but I was just starting as an adventurer again. I paused for 5 months above since I have to take an education. Good enough that I have good comprehension that I manage to finish it fastly." She said but not in a manner of showing off, just a casual tone enough to light up the mood.

Verxal was silent after hearing it. Not just because Ellena was strong, she is also smart and beautiful, making him dumbfounded that he could meet such a fine lady.

"You really are a talented person, Miss Ellena," Verxal muttered.

"Please drop the formalities. Just Ellena."

"Okay. So what's your plan now that you are finally here? Do you mind if I ask?"

"It's okay. I am trying to fix a career as an adventurer before I continue my education."

Verxal raised his eyebrow, didn't just Ellena said that she already finished her education?

"I don't want to ask about your education, you must have a reason for taking again but about being an adventurer. Maybe I can help you with that. If you got a recommendation from us, you can at least reach White Gold rank from your talents."

Despite the tempting offer, Ellena just shook her head. "No, it's okay.. I want to have my own foundation."
