Chapter 50

Elysia saw the men covered in all black.

It must have been an assassin, hitman, or something like that?

It was the first time she saw it in person after her transmigration, so she didn’t have much of a sense of reality. Though hasn’t she seen it in dramas or movies before?

It was unfamiliar to her that someone was aiming for her life. It felt completely different from monster subjugation or poison.

“Don’t worry about me, just think about your life.”

“I can’t.”

“You know I’m stronger, right?”

“….?”

The masked men laughed as they heard the conversation between Elysia and Bug. She raised the corners of her lips as she felt the flow of her magic return.

“…But, Sir. Aren’t we supposed to kill them?”

“…Uh, isn’t that usually the case? I don’t know because I haven’t saved many of them.”

Usually, the assassins rush till the end even if they get hurt. She was only asking that because it was a scene that appeared several times in the original story.

Elysia had never killed anyone with her own hands.

“Yes… I’ll tell them where I am with this bracelet.”

“Yes! I see.”

She breathed magic into the bracelet she used to communicate with Ramote. However, the problem was… she couldn’t get through.

“Sir… Let’s get out of here for now.”

Elysia raised her magic to cast an attack spell. It was easy, as long as she and Bug were safe. It was a good thing they chose a place that was not crowded. It was the same magic used in subjugation to cast a shadow.

‘Oh… Why did I only learn this kind of magic?’

Magic is a strange thing, so she only learned the big things, but the practicality was a bit low. If she thinks about it, the level of her strategy in the subjugation was perfect.

Elysia cast her spells, vowing that she would study when she really returned.

Then, a roar was heard along with a loud noise.

Bug, who started running, had to stop at the encirclement that was narrowing again.

“….?”

For some reason, the number didn’t seem to have decreased at all.

Ah. Elysia let out a small sigh. They knew she was a wizard, but they had no way to approach her.

Thinking of something belatedly, she hurriedly used the ring.

“…Why is this again?”

The ring did not function properly, perhaps because the movement magic was disabled. Magic was normal, although the bracelet and ring cannot be used.

Elysia began to spit out swear words, saying, “What is it?”

Bug’s eyes were trembling in shock, but that didn’t matter. She then came up with ‘Plan 2’ in her head.

“Bug, put me down.”

“…Pardon?”

“Isn’t there another sword or something?”

“It’s just a dagger.”

Saying that, she could see Bug pulling it out to show. She gave a distasteful expression. Elysia didn’t even know how to use it properly, so it didn’t seem like it would be of much help.

“Give me the scabbard.”

Elysia looked at Bug’s expression and shook her head. How the hell did he get to the position of vice-captain?

She really liked his calm look, but she couldn’t help but think that he was being stupid.

Bug was bewildered as he saw Elysia holding the scabbard and facing it from his back.

‘Did the Madam learn swordsmanship…?!’

It wasn’t a sword wielder’s gesture at all, but Elysia was so calm that he just followed the same mood.

At that moment, the men in masks began to run.

Only to Bug.

“Huh.”

Elysia had no choice but to turn herself around and stand alongside Bug. In response to the nonstop attacks, she had to continuously cast shock-absorbing magic on him.

She then began to slash as she looked, holding the scabbard.

Although she did not train, she was strong and had superior vision. At the very least, she could figure out where she was hitting.

“…God damn. What’s this bitch?”

“I broke a bone. Leave the knight alone and change the target.”

The men who had been hit by the scabbard wielded by Elysia screamed and retreated. As they rushed to her at once, they felt that it was too limited as she was blocking everything.

In the first place, it was because of the many differences in her basic skills.

Bug was on her side, but unlike the situation a while ago, he was gradually being pushed to the defense.

“All you have to do is hurt them.”

Elysia had doubts about someone’s words.

Hurt them… She didn’t know what it meant.

Elysia looked at the sword coming in more tenaciously and put Bug forward.

“Heuk… Madam?”

“It’ll hurt a little.”

Bug nodded his head in tears.

Of course, he thought so, but when he said it directly like that, he felt something strange. If his colleagues had heard of it, they would have doubted his chivalry.

“Huu, huu… Are you okay, madam?”

“I’m fine. Sir is the problem.”

Elysia looked at Bug’s condition and clicked her tongue.

Using him as a shield, she was fine, but this method seemed to be ending soon. His condition was too bad to cause any more injuries.

He had to at least be able to walk.

More than half of the men in the mask had been wounded by Elysia’s scabbard, but nevertheless, they continued to rush. It seemed like it kept going astray because they didn’t know the exact location to aim for the vital point.

With that thought, Elysia let out a moan briefly at the sensation of her getting cut on the side.

“…Oh.”

She blocked her wounds with magic, preventing the flow of the blood.

Rather than closing the wound, it was because she did not know what she wanted. But, perhaps one step late, she could see drops of blood falling to the floor.

It was then that she realized what the cause of the measures she had taken without her knowledge was.

“…Sir, run.”

Elysia pushed Bug as hard as she could.

Surely, it should be the other way around. Bug, who was pushed forward by her strong power, looked back at Elysia with a bewildered expression.

“Madam!”

Elysia could see a red pattern painted under her.

…No, that pattern continued right up to the front of Bug’s feet.

A growl sounded at the same time as she collapsed.

Cassian began to follow Elysia’s trail.

This happened when he sent her that way. In addition to being worried, he didn’t feel good. He was just pretending to be a little angry because he couldn’t even kiss her.

He rode his horse, accusing himself of being pathetic.

He should have followed her. If Elysia had heard he would go with her wherever she went, she would have struck his back. But, he should have…

He continued his vain thoughts, trying to stay calm.

“Where is Lady Elysia?”

“I don’t know yet. I only know it’s this way.”

Ryan frowned. As expected, he should have been by her side.

At that, Cassian quietly bit his lips and said to Ryan. “I don’t have any excuses either, so I’ll blame myself later and find her first.”

“Which way should I go?”

A road split in two was seen.

Cassian first turned his head to his left before opening his mouth.

“Since the knights went first, something will come out. When you find Elysia, fire a signal shot.”

“All right.”

Ryan received the signal from Cassian.

He frowned as he saw the knight returning shortly thereafter.

It was not in this direction.

“Your Excellency, this way.”

“What about Elysia?”

“The first thing, she’s okay… No, she was hurt.”

Cassian ordered the knight to fire a flare and drove his horseback. After a while, at the sight from afar, he understood why the knight was so frantic.

There was a big cat biting hard at the black-masked men.

Contrary to the ruthless and cruel appearance, its cry was like a small figure, and it was a strange sight.

He then found Elysia leaning against a tree next to Bug and dismounted from the horse.

Cassian smiled bitterly as he saw the scar on Elysia’s side.

“Looks like I’ve been too loose these days. Bring them alive.”

The knights began to move in haste. Even if it was finished in a hurry, he was mesmerized and watched it. Der’s rampage was so shocking.

“Bug.”

“Yes, Your Excellency. I will accept any disposition.”

Bug bowed his head and waited for his disposal.

Cassian raised an eyebrow.

“Explain what happened.”

Elysia was awakened by the heavy feeling in her arms.

As she focused, the familiar scenery caught her eye. It was the Duke of Esteban’s residence’s bedroom.

‘Why was I lying here…’

Recalling what happened to her today, something pricked her in the side.

“Nyaan!”

“…Heuk! Der…?”

Tears welled up at the pain in her side.

She had never experienced such pain in her life.

Elysia jumped to her feet, remembering what had happened before she lost her consciousness.

“…Ugh.”

Her face contorted relentlessly at the pain she felt as she stood up. Slowly, she bowed her head and checked the scar on her side. It was clear that a wound had burst where Der’s forefoot had been a while ago. There was bright red blood oozing over her slip.

‘It hurts…’

How far did she get hurt?

Elysia exhaled a long breath as she still received the violent choking from Der.

It was a bit of a deep wound, but she doesn’t think she would lose consciousness because of it. What happened?

She recalled the moment she lost her consciousness.

She didn’t collapse right away with her wounds but even covered her wounds with chunks of magic to stop the bleeding. She then lost her consciousness as drops of blood that she couldn’t stop fell on the floor.

And, the magic circle she saw before she lost her consciousness…

‘Why did the men in the mask try to hurt me?’

As the question continued, the answer came out surprisingly easily.

The only magic that was completed through blood was black magic. Elysia raised her hand to her confused face and placed her hand on her forehead.

“What is going on…”

She needed to know more about what happened. If possible, she had to go back to the site.

With that thought, she lowered her legs from the bed to get her body up.

“…Uh. It hurts so much.”

It was the result of moving her body, forgetting that she had a wound.

Elysia bowed her head and glanced at her side, as she heard the door open and solid arms embraced her.

“Cassian?”

“If you wake up, why didn’t you call me…”

Cassian’s repressed voice was interrupted along with the breath he exhaled without an end. Though Elysia gently pushed his chest away because she had something to check right now.

“What happened after I lost my consciousness?”

At that, she was given an explanation she was supposed to have heard from Bug.

After a while, Elysia stared at Der next to her with a surprised look.

“So… you mean that Der broke the magic circle?”

“That’s what Bug said.”

Elysia smiled wryly.

Even those who used black magic on her wouldn’t have expected Der’s existence. She also didn’t know that Der had such an ability, but it was fortunate, anyway.

Regardless, she’s never visited the Second Prince herself, yet his black magic targeted her.

She could feel the hairs all over her body were standing up at the fact that it was aimed at her, so Elysia raised her hand and swept her forearm.
