All cultivators below the Astral Infant stage were immobilized by the hovering mirror, which was influencing the entire vicinity, and the only two Astral Infant stage cultivators were going to perish together. The entire royal palace seemed to be frozen while in action.

While in tears, she exerted more force to push the sword further inward.

Ice frost immediately began to radiate from the sword. The destructive power of the surging frost flowed into her body through the sword before entering Zhu Hongyi’s body.

“Ahhhh! Pffttt! Qing’er, Qing’er~~~~~~~~~~~!” Zhu Hongyi shouted in agony and grief.

“Brother Hongyi, we shall meet in the next life!” She Miejue also cried out in tears.

The frost’s destructive power suffused the two; She Miejue was serious about dying together. Since the both of them had been skewered by the sword, Zhu Hongyi was no longer able to stop it from happening despite his powerful cultivation. The array was as big as the barrier surrounding them. Golden beams of light suddenly radiated from it. She Miejue no longer needed to pick targets at the moment; anyone with demonic Qi would be struck down.

The royal palace was instantly filled by screams of pain. The utter despair came from the complete inability to move.

A golden ray of virtue merit flew into the mirror after the first demon was killed and the explosion faded.

Lightning bolts rained down on the demons while the normal people remained safe.

However, due to the loud thunderclaps, no one noticed the man’s voice coming from the residence. They were only able to see that a lightning bolt had struck the top of the building, blowing the roof open.

Deep inside the dungeon—She Tianba was preparing to escape. Unfortunately for him, he was detected by the Demon Slaying Heavenly Lightning Array.

“Booom! ”

The lightning had split open a patch of grass; it made a big hole on the ground, almost hitting She Tianba.

The latter looked up at the big hole in the dungeon’s ceiling and the countless lightning bolts locked onto him. Fear was written all over his face. “Why? Why! I didn’t even release my demonic Qi. Why is it locked onto me?”

He scurried as quickly as he could, but the lightning bolts were relentless.

The entire royal palace had turned into a chaotic place for demons; one after the other, they were blown to pieces by lightning. Golden spheres of virtue merit were simultaneously rushing into the Immobilizing Radiance Mirror.

Once the mirror and the array were fully activated, she turned back and looked at her sword.

Zhu Hongyi behind her was coughing out blood. His entire body was frozen, and was seemingly about to die.

She Miejue held on to her sword; the frost creeped up in her entire body. In her last throes of agony, she asked, “You could have retaliated, even if it wouldn’t work in your favor. Why didn’t you do it?”

“Cough... I can’t bring myself to hurt you!”

Zhu Hongyi gave a bitter smile. Then, he was entirely sealed in frost.

You didn’t want to hurt me?She Miejue wailed after hearing Zhu Hongyi’s words, and sensing that he was no longer responsive.

She was now on the brink of death after destroying her enemies by sacrificing her own life. But more than that, she was so heartbroken that tears endlessly ran down her cheeks.

“Brother Hongyi, we will never be apart again. Heh, let’s not care about the righteous and the demonic in our next life. I don’t want anything to do with immortality either… I just want you, and that is enough!”

Just when everything had been unfolding as planned, she heard Zhu Yan’s voice coming from the Empress' Residence, which had gotten its roof blown open.

“Why is Zhu Yan inside? The Netherborn? She wasn't demonized, so the lightning array didn't go after her? This won’t do. Princess Youyue must die! She must!” She Miejue stood up with gritted teeth.

She pulled the sword from her chest.

Without her standing beside Zhu Hongyi, the lightning bolts bombarded the frost that had enveloped him.

“Brother Hongyi, I’ll be back in a moment!” said She Miejue, feeling sorry for leaving him there, all alone. After that, she limped toward the Empress' Residence.

She pushed open the building’s gate and stepped inside amidst the desperate cries of the demons. Since lightning had blown open the roof, the stones from the ceiling fell, sweeping up a huge wave of dust, so much so that no one could not see what was happening inside. Still, everyone knew fully well that she had gone there to kill Princess Youyue.

It’s over. All the demons would die this day.

In the meantime, Wang Ke also rushed back to the Empress' Residence through the tunnel. The countless lightning bolts almost blinded him after flipping open the slab of stone covering the tunnel’s entrance.

“What’s happening? The armory was blown up?” Wang Ke rubbed his eyes in shock.

Only after his eyes adapted to the bright lightning did Wang Ke suck in a mouth of cold air. “She Tianba, are you out of your mind? You killed your patron?”
