The game was still ongoing. Hiro managed to escape from the hunter after him, and in turn, entered an area in the labyrinth covered in a thick layer of snow. The cold air blowing on his skin made him instantly shiver.

It was even colder than the winters he had gotten used to in Tokyo.

"This damn weather…" Hiro muttered in displeasure. He really hated the cold.

As he continued to move forward with his feet slowly sinking into the snow, he suddenly felt something solid under his feet. It even made a 'clang' when he stepped on it.

Hiro quickly crouched to check what he just stepped on. After digging with his bare hands until his fingers felt numb from the cold, he found an iron box hidden under a square concave area of soil.

The game master must've hidden the iron chest there on purpose, where the naked eyes couldn't see.

Ding!

[You have obtained Snow Daggers (Level 15) - Tier A (Time-limited item)]

[You have obtained a buff.]

[Movement speed is increased by 200% for 30 minutes.]

"All right!"

[Snow Daggers have been equipped]

[Damage 73 AP 41 ASPD 30 CRIT 5]

Hiro immediately activated the new weapon he obtained as a backup. At the same time the equipping notification popped up, a pair of twin daggers appeared in his hands, each with a white blade and silver hilt.

"Not bad."

Time to hunt those rockets.

After walking forward for a little longer, Hiro decided to turn around. He was unwilling to go too deep into the snowy area.

Fortunately, it was easy for him to find which way he had gone and which way he hadn't thanks to the GPS.

For the entire duration he ran from the hunter who was after him, notifications about survivors who got caught and survivors who obtained game points from lighting up torches continued to pop up in his HUD. However, he remained calm.

So far, nobody had obtained points from rescuing survivors like he did.

Tap! Tap! Tap!

Hiro ran while focusing on his hearing for any suspicious movements. He was running with confidence due to the movement speed buff when suddenly, an arrow flew past him, scratching his left ear from behind.

Whoosh!

Hiro tensed up and swiftly turned around to face the direction the arrow came from. There, he saw two players standing about 10 meters away from him, both wielding shortbows.

"I found one!" a muscular woman with wide shoulders then shouted. Almost immediately after, the sound of numerous people's footsteps came from all around him.

At a time like this, escaping before it's too late was the best course of action for Hiro, who was a survivor. Hence, he began running without a second thought.

Tap! Tap! Tap!

Whoosh!

Splat! [HP -100]

"Ugh." Hiro pulled out the arrow that pierced his left arm. At the same time, he took a sharp turn to make those attacking him from afar lose sight of him.

However, not long after he made the turn, seven hunters appeared in the dark three-way junction in front of him. They all had their weapons ready, pointed right at him.

"Shit!"

It was already too late for him to run the other way. With no other choice, he readily held the twin daggers' hilts in his hands.

Hiro had taken the assassin class several times in other games, so he didn't doubt his skills with the daggers. Besides, he could also imagine them as lite-version swords.

Trr-tak! Trr-tak! Trr-tak!

The SMG firearm a largest man of the seven brought shot a few bullets from his front. Fortunately, he was able to evade the hot bullets with the movement speed buff he got.

However, in front of him now was a dead end.

The seven hunters blocked his path. Six of them had short-range weapons, but as if they didn't have the courage, none of them moved forward to stop him. They only waited for him to make the first move.

"I'll show you how it's done!"

Whoosh!

SPLAT! SPLAT!

BAM!

One by one, Hiro swiftly slashed them all using the twin daggers.

"Ughh!"

Blood splattered out. The man whose face was slashed quickly fell to his knees from the sharp, excruciating pain. The close, almost nonexistent distance between them made it easy for Hiro to give them fatal strikes.

As the first man fell to his knees, Hiro swiftly jumped and used the man's shoulder as a footing to jump higher and dash past them all.

Tap! Tap! Tap!

Hiro successfully passed the seventh hunter that blocked his path like a thug in one try.

In this event, there was no merit in taking down or defeating a hunter as a survivor. On the contrary, beating the seven hunters up would only waste his time at the early game.

After all, the most important thing to do as a survivor was to collect as many points as possible to win.

'I have to score a lot right now.'

Hiro looked at the two torches that hadn't been lit up. Both of them were somewhat hidden in the tendril-covered maze wall.

Lighting the torches was easy; he only needed to touch them empty-handed until a panel appeared.

[Lighting the torch (10s)]

After roughly 20 seconds, Hiro finally finished lighting up the two torches he found. Not bad. It increased his slightly fallen-behind points.

Ever since the beginning of the event, the player name that constantly appeared in the notifications was Noah.

It seems that he searched for these torches and lit them up very seriously.

Hiro held his breath and attempted to focus on his hearing again. Just a moment later, he faintly heard sounds of friction. Slowly, the sounds became clearer and louder.

The source of those sounds was very near.

As he moved in the sounds' direction, he found a crack in the wall enough for an adult to pass through.

Right after he slipped in, he found a rocket pole hidden in the crack. While he was observing the rocket pole, he almost forgot about the source of the friction sounds.

Hiro felt a little nervous. Should he destroy the rocket pole, or should he approach the source of those suspicious sounds?

The sounds became clearer. As Hiro listened to it, he became sure that the sounds came from a caught survivor who was trying to break free. And judging from how it was slowly becoming clearer, he was also sure that it was moving his way.

However, Hiro didn't immediately hide. Instead, he approached the rocket pole in front of him and started kicking it, hitting it, and striking it with his twin daggers. It was slightly more durable than he thought, but not to the point he had a difficult time with it.

After a while, his actions successfully destroyed the rocket pole until its overall form became somewhat unevenly bent.

His lips formed a satisfied smile when a notification popped up in front of him.
