Monster Hunting High School

Chapter 7 The office is just around the corner

Time always flies when you are focused.

When the sweet bell rang, the students all showed expressions of awakening.

Almost as soon as Lao Yao shouted the word "get out of class is over", several figures jumped out of their seats like arrows and ran straight to the podium.

"Professor, I don't quite understand this derivation..."

"Professor, can you replace the Laurent formula you just mentioned with this one..."

"Professor, why are the results of my Li-Mac expansion always different from yours..."

Figures of different robe colors, different genders, and different grades, holding similar notebooks, showed the same longing eyes.

This is a look that teachers cannot refuse.

Professor Yao smiled happily, but did not answer their questions immediately.

"Zheng Qing, don't leave yet, come here." He waved, stopped the young public-funded student who had already walked out of the classroom door, and pulled him back.

Zheng Qing was stunned and looked back at his companions.

"Then let's go first." Xiao Xiao adjusted his glasses, turned around and left quickly.

Fatty Xin shrugged, hooked up with Zhang Jixin, and left behind Dr. Xiao. Zheng Qing vaguely heard him muttering, 'I must let him explain clearly tonight...' and 'You don't know, last time...' and other complaints.

The students who left the classroom looked at him curiously, biting each other's ears, whispering to each other, and avoiding his gaze, as if he had some ulterior secret.

Jiang Yu stood at the door awkwardly, tilting her head and winking at him.

Next to her, Li Meng put her arms around Liu Feifei's neck, almost hanging her whole body on the top student.

"It's really troublesome." The little witch muttered, and when she saw Zheng Qing's probing eyes, she immediately snapped back fiercely.

Zheng Qing smiled bitterly, made a wait gesture to Jiang Yu, and hurried back to the classroom and came to the desk.

"Professor, are you looking for me?" he asked in a natural tone.

"Do you have anything else to do later?" Lao Yao asked slowly, holding the handout and his pipe in one hand, with his eyelids drooping.

Before Zheng Qing could figure out how to answer this question tactfully, the professor simply waved his arm:

"Since everything is fine, then...the test results from the campus hospital are out. You can come to the office with me later and we can talk about your problems here."

As he spoke, he raised his right hand, curled his middle finger, and tapped his temple.

Zheng Qing opened his mouth stupidly, not knowing how to close it.

Lao Yao did not notice the troubled expressions of the public-funded students. He was also explaining the formulas just listed on the blackboard to several studious young wizards:

"...We often use Taylor's spell in the Lee-Mac expansion...It can very conveniently replace the most complicated part of this derivation...such as here...and here..."

Several young wizards gathered around the professor holding notes, poking their heads like giant geese, as if they would make a squawking sound at the next moment.

Maybe there were a little too many people watching, blocking some of the light.

Lao Yao raised his head, looked around, and found that the young public-funded student was still standing at the desk, neither listening nor leaving.

"You can wait at the door first." He chewed his pipe, waved his arm, and signaled: "I will go out after telling them these questions...five minutes at most."

The young public-funded student nodded silently and walked toward the classroom door meekly.

Jiang Yu was leaning against the pillar outside the door, with a book open in his hand. He was reading it with gusto, which no one could bear to disturb.

Zheng Qing cleared his throat and finally caught the monitor's attention.

"Where's Li Meng?" He looked around curiously, trying to find the noisy little guy.

"I went to the library with Feifei... She hasn't finished Professor Emma's homework yet. She probably won't go back until Shushan Library is closed... I can finally be quiet for a while." Jiang Yu brushed her long hair around her ears. , eyebrows and eyes curved.

Zheng Qing imagined the little witch pouting, her face full of reluctance but helplessness, and couldn't help but laugh.

"I'm so sorry." He looked at the witch apologetically, wrung his hands, and explained: "Old Yao...I mean, Professor Yao just told me that the examination report from the school hospital came out and asked me to discuss it with him in the office. It will be late... so I can't study the Dharma book with you today."

"Is it because you had a headache and fainted last time?" Jiang Yu stopped her smile and asked with some worry.

Zheng Qing twitched the corners of his mouth and nodded in agreement, showing a helpless expression.

"Don't worry about the Dharma book. There are still four or five days... We can make another appointment." Jiang Yu comforted: "But the care of the dean of Jiuyou College cannot be waited for anytime..."

Zheng Qing smiled gratefully, but in the end did not say any more words of thanks.

"You have the final say." He punched his chest and affirmed: "You decide the time and place, and I won't frown even if it means mountains of swords and seas of fire!"

"Forget it, mountains of swords and seas of fire." Jiang Yu's eyes narrowed again: "Elena will probably be even more angry when she hears this."

Zheng Qing's face immediately fell.

It turns out that five minutes in the mouth of teachers is very different from five minutes in the natural sense.

Even wizards who always stick to time are no exception.

By the time the last consulting student left the classroom, the sun had set behind the distant ridge. Only a few burnt red fire clouds remained, telling everyone about its former glory.

Fortunately, a professor is a professor after all.

Lao Yao did not strictly follow the normal logic of going downstairs, crossing the small square, then turning into the office building and looking for an office like other students.

He and Zheng Qing just turned around a wall, walked down the stairs, and appeared in front of a red wooden door.

When he opened the door, he saw a familiar scene.

It's still that simple office.

The furnishings in the room are almost exactly the same as when Zheng Qing left last time. The tall glass cabinets are still tightly closed, and there are several stacks of documents stacked on the large mahogany desk.

If anything, it was the soft leather armchair in front of the table.

One of the chairs was convulsing for some unknown reason, lifting up its soft leather cushion, revealing its skinny frame, with a few gray-white spider webs vaguely visible on it.

But Zheng Qing's attention was not on those funny chairs.

He was still excited about the journey he had just taken from the classroom to this office.

"That's amazing!" Zheng Qing exclaimed and praised: "It shouldn't even take a hundred steps... How much time can be saved every day by walking like this!"

"The most important thing is that it can save you a lot of unnecessary trouble... and interruptions." Professor Yao smiled and glanced at him: "For example, those crazy star-chasers... I heard that you have recently started selling signed photos? What if? I want one, is there any discount?”

"Slander! It's absolutely not true, sir!" Zheng Qing's face immediately turned red.

He shook his head vigorously and firmly denied the accusation.

"No preferential price?!" Lao Yao lamented: "What a sad thing..."

"No, that's not what I meant!" Zheng Qing couldn't help shouting, raising his voice.

His brain felt like it was exploding.

"Just kidding, don't take it seriously... By the way, how does it feel to be a hero?" Old Yao pulled out the chair behind the red desk, sat down hard, raised his head and asked, "Is there anything you don't feel comfortable with?"

The large leather chair let out a contented sigh.

"It's nothing..." Zheng Qing answered this slightly embarrassing question vaguely, madly complaining about other people's inexplicable curiosity in his heart. 1.
