My Journey to Godhood as a Caterpillar

Chapter 69: Back to the capital

The journey back to the capital was silent, no one talked about what happened in the forest, most of them were traumatized by the events, Yun Jhin scoffed seeing their blocked visages, the more they thought about what happened the more their PTSD intensified.

Lulu herself didn't get to see what other horrors the others did when they were kidnapped so she was pretty much ok, the only thing that bothered her was Yun Jhin's actions and words, how could her people do something like that?

Since she was young she saw herself as a hero in shining armor that would protect her mother and her subordinates which led to her wanting to protect everyone in the capital.

Yun Jhin looked at her troubled expression and chuckled inside, she will be hit very hard when she will see that he was right.

Kong Luo maneuvered the ki ship easily as they approached the giant wall that divided the middle and upper continents, the teleportation formation was ready and Pei Fong was also here now, the man talked a little bit with Kong Luo before he told him that he wanted to talk with Yun Jhin by himself.

Kong Luo didn't know what to tell Pei Fong, after all, Yun Jhin was pretty much a national treasure at this point, anyone that could reach the god realm would be heavily invested into.

The general also couldn't tell him the true reason he couldn't waste Yun Jhin's time, after all, the Emperor said that no one else should know of this without his permission. Kong Luo liked his head on his shoulders.

So he refused Pei Fong and left the wall using the teleportation formation along with Yun Jhin and the others.

Immediately when they appeared inside the capital, some of the royal guards were led to the formation and invited Yun Jhin to the palace, the other 'geniuses' thought that the invitation would be lent to them as well, after all, they still thought that surviving the training course would let them join a special unit that the Emperor would create.

However, the first thing that happened when they returned was that some of their family members came and took them back to their families, most of them weren't sure why they were rushed back to their families but they didn't dare to question their relatives.

The maid chuckled happily as she returned to the Song family to report her success, the old man sighed and left by himself going to his own family, and Kong Luo went back to the army brigade as he wasn't invited along with Yun Jhin.

Yun Jhin entered the palace and met with the Emperor who questioned him on his endeavor, Yun Jhin told him that he unlocked some his memories but they were very faint, he even gave him a cultivation technique to make it look true, he only gave him the first half and told him the other part was too blurred to understand.

The Emperor believed him for half, and the other half doubted him thinking that he didn't want to share the whole cultivation technique with him, even though he wasn't lacking in techniques, it was still quite an impressive one even for his standards, even though he couldn't cultivate it, he could give it to one of his halfling sons, however, he would need the second half for that to happen.

Yun Jhin told him that he would send the other half as soon as he deciphered it. The Emperor wanted to get the other half of the technique as soon as it was possible so he gave Yun Jhin a room in the outer skirts of the palace and told him to cultivate in there before he would be assigned another training course.

Yun Jhin entered his new room and chased away the half-naked maids from his bed, he wasn't in the mood currently.

He was ready to close into the 6th stage of the refinery of his jewel, his accumulation from the natives wasn't anything great, but with it combined with a little bit of cultivation could make him reach the 6th stage.

Yun Jhin closed his eyes as he sat cross-legged on the bed and attracted the starlight from the outer atmosphere of the planet, the starlight fell directly on his head as it fused with his jewel, the jewel shined with peculiar green energy, as the wraiths inside of it howled and cried in panic and pain, seemingly as if they understood that after Yun Jhin reached the 9th stage and refined his jewel fully, they would all perish and be absorbed fully by the jewel.

Yun Jhin opened his eyes as he finally reached the 6th stage, he made a small progress from the training course that the Emperor gave to him, he also gained the location of hell's entrance, but going back to the blood throne sect was an endeavor that wouldn't be easily achievable, at the least he would need to be a Sage Realm expert.

The Blood Throne sect was created around the southern hemisphere of the universe, the 4 symbols planets of the 4 sacred beasts were situated around the northern center, the dimensional portals he would have to control and use would need him to be at the Sage Realm to utilize.

There was also the fact that only Sage Realm cultivators could survive outer space without any treasure's help. He would also need the approval of the overlord of the planet to leave it, that meant gaining huge merit or currying favor.

Yun Jhin sighed only if he was stronger... He would just massacre everyone and take what he wanted, only if he had this system in his previous life, he would have sacrificed everything to devour the needed amounts of races to evolve into something akin to a fortuned constitution.

Even though there was only a chance a fortuned constitution could break through the limits of the universe he had to take it!

After all, he already tried everything else that could be done and he failed, the only other way would be to gain a body that could reach the rank 10,000.

Yun Jhin narrowed his eyes as some knocks could be heard at his door, he could feel the aura of Lulu behind the door!

Lulu entered before he could say anything, she looked like she cried for a bit, she approached Yun Jhin and wanted to talk but Yun Jhin interrupted her:

"Did they already start executing them?"

Lulu nodded she wanted to cry her grief to Yun Jhin but she was interrupted again:

"Did your mother scold you because of what you did?"

Lulu's eyes widened as she looked at Yun Jhin, her tears dried a little as she looked at him and wondered how he could see through her so easily, then she remembered his words and shook her head, he already told her what would happen but she ignored him thinking that it was only his negative side speaking. Now she realized that all of his experience wasn't for show.

Lulu approached him and bit her lips, she wore very light clothing that highlighted her curves, her tender white skin, her peach-like lips, her sizeable bosom that waved up and down, it seemed her mother sent her here to seduce Yun Jhin.

Yun Jhin chuckled inside as she looked at her attempts to get near to him, for others, such a cute side of a woman would trigger their innate beasts and she would have gulped up by now if it was anyone else, but Yun Jhin could control his desires and even exterminate them if needed so.

That didn't mean he didn't enjoy the sensation, he just could decide when he wanted to do it and he couldn't be forced to do it.

Yun Jhin waved his hand at her and said:

"Your mother should have told you the other reason that she wanted you to pursue me besides my pure bloodline right?"

Lulu nodded her head as her body shook and she said:

"Mother said that you are a reincarnated cultivator, is it true?"

Yun Jhin nodded nonchalantly and said:

"From what the Emperor and the Empress told me it should be this way, it's the only reason I can explain the memories seeping through my mind, they aren't my own but it feels like they belong to my soul. It's truly strange you know?"

Lulu shook her head and tried to approach Yun Jhin but he stopped her and said:

"Even though I admire you as the opposite sex, this isn't the way to build a relationship, Lulu it's a bit too early to move this far, don't you agree with me?"

Lulu nodded her head as tears seeped again from her eyes, she ran towards Yun Jhin but not in the same way as before, she cried a little bit in his bosom to unload herself, this was the first time her mother was so hard on her and forced her to do something without her input on the thing at all.

She just told her:

"You will have his child and this isn't something you can argue about, now go and make me a grandmother, make sure you gulp his seed till he can't move any more!"

At first, she was embarrassed then she realized how her mother was forcing her on a relative stranger that she only knew very less about, Yun Jhin wasn't ugly he was talented and had a bright future to him, but she didn't know much about him besides the rumors that flew about.

Yun Jhin sighed as he patted her back and let her unload then he asked her:

"How could you come here, this is the territory of the emperor and I'm sure he still holds a grudge for what happened at the dinner from a while ago."

Lulu explained how she didn't find any resistance as she was dropped to his courtyard then let near his room, it seemed that even the Emperor approved of the Empress youngest daughter to end up with him.

It looked like they wanted to see what his child's bloodline would look like. Yun Jhin wouldn't mind satisfying their curiosity as long as he got benefits out of it, but it was still a bit too early for that, Lulu would also bear a grudge on him if he forced himself on her right now, and he needed her to be cooperating in the future.

After Yun Jhin finished comforting her and all of her tears dried up he told her the following:

"You should go back to your mother and tell her that even though I like you, it's a bit too early for this type of relationship, I'm also more interested to unlocking my former life memories first before anything like this will happen in the future, go now, I have to meditate."

Lulu nodded her head slowly as she left his room and then disappeared, she reappeared back in the Empress's garden and she stood in front of her, the Empress looked at her with narrowed eyes as she listened to the message from Yun Jhin and she snorted:

"That little bastard doesn't know that his personality might be altered once he fully recovers his memories, would he even look at you after he regains his pride as a God Realm cultivator?"

But what Yun Jhin said was also reasonable, he didn't know Lulu for a lot of time, when it came to arranged marriages the woman could say no and nothing would happen, but if the man said no the marriage could fall and break, so even though men could force themselves on women, women couldn't, unless they were stronger or had a bigger backing. This was just how a society based on strength worked, even the Empress forced herself on countless men due to their innate talent, some of them were unwilling but the Empress didn't take a no from them.

The Empress wanted Lulu to take the same approach, but unfortunately, her youngest daughter wasn't overwhelmingly stronger than Yun Jhin so she couldn't force herself on him, and even if she did, if Yun Jhin was unwilling and complained to the Emperor things could go ugly for her, she would need to cough up some resources and benefits to cool her husband's temper.

When she talked with him regarding the union of her daughter and Yun Jhin, he only agreed if Yun Jhin was willing!

This was giving face to a future pillar of the Empire, since the Emperor was sure that Yun Jhin would fully unlock his memories and reach the God Realm.

The Empress thought the same and that was why she wanted to secure his bloodline so she could have something over him in the future as she wanted his support as well.

She looked at her daughter then said:

"From now on follow him wherever he goes, make him fall in love with you regardless of what you have to do, do you understand? We need to secure his bloodline!"

Lulu bit her lips but in the end, she nodded her head and didn't disobey her mother, she just couldn't, her whole life she thought that her mother wanted the best for her and this was the only time she thought that her mother didn't know what she wanted. It wasn't that she hated Yun Jhin or wasn't interested in a relationship with him, but this was too forced for her!

...

Yun Jhin left his room as he wandered the capital, he looked around and gathered information, he needed to know about the danger zones in the upper regions, even though he recognized some of them from his memories, there were also some new ones that he didn't know about.

He would be sent to a new danger zone until he would unlock all of his memories or die, that's what the Emperor wanted from him, Yun Jhin already had all of his memories but he wouldn't tell them or they would suspect him and his reasons for joining the Empire, after all, would a God Realm expert want to be the subordinate of anyone else even if he couldn't help it?

The answer was of course not!

Even though the danger zones wouldn't unlock him further memories he could still benefit from such expeditions, after all, danger zones were full of benefits, herbs, and animals that have been mutated by the environment that Yun Jhin could use.

He already gained some herbs that he could use to concoct a pill that could jumpstart his first jewel refinery to the 9th stage in one go, but he still lacked a few ingredients that couldn't be found in the capital, the Emperor would also not give them to him if he asked about it, in the hopes that he could get them by himself when he was sent to a danger zone and help him unlock his memories.

Yun Jhin sighed as he finally finished gaining all of the information about the danger zones then went back to the outer skirts palace room, he would first go through the new information before waiting for news from Black Blood, he would come soon with the new location he would be sent to, if he guessed right, only him and Lulu would be sent there for 'tempering' purposes.
