"I was just kidding" Chance couldn't help but feel fishy about Edward but he didn't wish for Carol to have any misunderstanding about him.

With difficulty she met a new guy and he didn't wish to ruin it for her.

But whenever they come across new people, Chance stays on alert as he doesn't trust anyone.

"Come on Carol, you know Chance, don't be offended" Jack chimed in to cool down the situation.

Samantha on the other hand was calm. She too believed what Chance said.

Carol ignored Chance's doubts and continued, "When I saw him at the bar, I recognized him as I saw him at the restaurant too, so I approached him and directly questioned, if he was stalking me" Carol laughed.

Edward awkwardly smiled and looked at Samantha. She was quietly listening to the story and glared at him.

Edward gulped in fear as he can feel her anger.

"Then he got all awkward and I asked him, if he is interested in me? That was when Edward told me, he is and we decided to have a drink. I had a great time with him and here we are" Carol happily declared.

'If I am not wrong, Ed has some purpose to meet Carol and he was stalking her but he was caught and got trapped in this relationship' Samantha thought to herself, trying to understand what must have happened.

But she was still not able to figure out, 'Why Carol?', 'why was he stalking her?'

"Wow, it is cute" Abigail smiled at the two people.

"So, Edward, you work in a music company?" Jack asked him.

"Yeah"

"Which music company?" David questioned him.

"Warner Music Company" Edward answered, but he was feeling nervous.

Although, Edwin is a fine assassin, right now he was feeling a bit nervous, as there was a good chance that Grim Reaper is currently sitting in this same room with him.

That was why Edward was nervous answering questions that were being thrown at him by Jack, David and Chance.

Since the moment, he saw Samantha here, he started having doubts. He was well aware of the hatred Samantha has towards the Grim Reaper so there was no way she would be friends with him, but the possibility of she not knowing who the Grim Reaper is, kept Edwin's doubts alive.

"Really? Warner Music Company? What do you exactly do there?" Chance asked him, doubtfully.

"I am one of the guitarists" Edwin lied.

'Oh, he knows how to play guitar, so he is using that as a shield but these people will conduct a background check on him and might find the truth that he is lying. I don't think he has anything to back-up his lie with. I need to talk to Edwin and find out what exactly he is doing here, instead of hiding from the Grim Reaper' Samantha's thoughts were filled with Edwin.

"Wow, would you like to play for us?" Abigail asked him.

Edward awkwardly smiled, "Umm, I rather not" It was evident he was shy.

"Why not?" David questioned him.

"Guys, he is a bit shy, don't force him, if he is not comfortable" Carol protected him from her friends.

"Aww, our Carol is acting all protective" Jack commented to tease her and after a few minutes they all went to the dining area to have lunch.

They all just casually talked about the ongoing events in their life during lunch, once it was done, everyone headed to the big gallery at David's place.

One could see the city from there and this gallery was perfectly designed, there were chairs and bean bags for one's comfort.

Aesthetically their garden was so attractive, anyone would wish to spend some time there, looking at the view outside.

"It is beautiful" Samantha complimented the place.

"Thanks, it is all Mia" David proudly informed her.

They all settled themselves and conversed casually for a while.

"If you guys don't mind, I and Chance have something work related to discuss." David and Chance stood up from their chairs.

"Seriously? Working on a holiday?" Mia was angry at her workaholic fiancée and friend.

"Chance would be leaving, tonight. Just a few things, won't take much time" David calmly pursued her.

Mia looked at Samantha, "You too should scold Chance, for working on a weekend"

Usually, Samantha too scolds Chance for working too much but right now, all she could think of was about Edwin's presence here, so she frankly didn't care about anything else.

"Let them be" Samantha responded.

"Uff, I have a better girlfriend that you" Chance teased David in front of everyone.

"Fiancée, not girlfriend" Mia corrected him only to see Chance rolling his eyes at her.

The two men left from there and headed to David's room as they planned to check the information David received on Brimstone, aka Edwin, Lucas' killer.

David got this information a day ago but he wished to check the file with Chance. Last night, after killing Excalibur, David informed Chance about it and therefore they lied to everyone as they can finally know about Lucas' killer.

"Does anyone want donuts?" Samantha suddenly asked the five people she was hanging out with.

"Umm, I don't have any at home, I can order" Mia suggested.

"No need for that. I read about a donut place which is just near your home, they sell the best donuts. I can get them" Samantha excitedly suggested.

"No Sam, don't take so much trouble. I can just ask my driver to get it for us" Mia felt bad in sending her guest to get donuts for them.

"Haha, chill. I always wished to just walk around New York's streets but never got a chance to do so. Let me just explore the place. I'll be back soon" Samantha cheerfully expressed her wish to roam around.

Seeing how excited she was, Mia didn't have the heart to say no.

"You sure you can manage?" Abigail worriedly asked her.

"I'll go with her" Edward suggested as he got the hint that Samantha was making up this lie, so that they can get some alone time and talk.

Carol didn't like Edward going out with Samantha, but she actually had something to discuss with Mia and Abigail in alone, so she didn't oppose to it. But she was still uncomfortable, sensing which Jack, too volunteered to accompany Samantha and Edward.

Samantha and Edward started thinking of ways to discuss what they intended to in spite of Jack's presence as they can't refuse him to join them.

After Samantha, Jack and Edwin left from there, Carol seriously looked at her two close friends.

"So, what do you two, think about him?" She nervously asked them.

Mia and Abigail, calmly looked at each other and made sad faces. Seeing them Carol realized they didn't like him and she too turned dejected but the next minute, Abigail and Mia laughed at her.

"Look at you, don't tell me you already fell for him?" Abigail teased Carol.

"I have not fallen for him but I really like him" Carol confessed shyly.

"I am so glad you are finally giving someone a chance" Mia was relieved knowing Carol likes him.

"Yeah, I really enjoy his company" Carol shared with them and the next minute, she got a bit upset, "But there is one problem" Carol pouted at her friends.

"What problem?" The two girls asked her together, looking worried.

New York Street

Samantha, Jack and Edward were heading towards the Donut Place.

"How are you liking New York, Sam?" Jack casually asked her as a conversation starter.

"It is great." Samantha was polite with him and her mind was thinking of ways to get rid of Jack for a few minutes.

"Which place you like better? New York or San Diego?" Jack asked her.

Samantha politely smiled at him, "San Diego forever"

Jack laughed in a friendly way, "I understand"

"How about you? Do you want to be in New York forever?" Samantha asked Jack, not to be rude as he was really trying hard to make her feel comfortable.

"Hmm, I guess. By the way, I am planning to propose to Abigail for marriage" Jack suddenly blurted out, surprising her, as she didn't think he would share such a big news with her as they were not that close.

"Wow, congratulations" Samantha was happy for the guy and greeted him after recovering from the shock.

"Haha, you and Edward are the first people I am sharing this with" Jack informed the two people, to which Edwin awkwardly smiled.

"I am honoured, Jack." Samantha was even more surprised to know this.

"Yeah, I have my reasons for that" Jack then paused in his steps and took out the ring to show it to Samantha.

It was a beautiful diamond ring.

"Wow, Jack. It is beautiful" Samantha exclaimed, smiling brightly.

"Thank you. I wanted a lady's opinion but can't ask those other two or else they will blabber out the truth to Abi" Jack explained.
