My Wife is the Asura Empress

Chapter 167: Cradling The Lioness In His Arms

With Helia in his baby hug, Rio and Nyla made their way back in the eastern direction, grateful that the blonde-haired beauty wasn't badly injured and had found her before it was too late.

Nyla was relieved that they were able to rescue Helia and that she was still alive, but she also knew they had to act fast to get out of this annoyingly warm place for her comfort.

The boy had carefully cradled Helia in his arms as he made his way through the scorching hot desert. The magenta-haired beauty walked alongside him, her eyes scanning the horizon for any sign of change in the endless sea of sand that was as far as her vision could see.

The warm sun's intensity didn't lower as it kept assaulting them to make them give up, but they had new motivation to continue walking in the unpleasant land as both of them wanted to bring Helia to a better place so she could get better in a good habitable place.

The lioness was unconscious, and Rio could feel her soft body heat radiating against his chest. He was delighted seeing her breathe brushing past his skin and having a stable breathing rhythm as it told him she was not in bad condition.

'[Life Sutra] was helping me to not get tired as much as them but now carrying her weight is putting a lot of burden on my body.'

He was getting tired of Helia's body weight as it was growing heavier and heavier due to walking for a long time in the current tormenting climate. The boy was aware that his legs demanded to rest soon, but he kept pushing his limits and kept going on, determined to escape the current blistering weather at the savage landscape.

'My body is crying to rest. I feel like laying down on the ground to take a relaxing breathe.'

Nyla was already on her limit but she kept moving, seeing her man carrying Helia in his arm without any complaint.

She had the option to withdraw from this place but She loved him way too much to abandon him for the pain and suffering she was going through.

The magenta-haired beauty was the same girl who didn't think twice before jumping in to sacrifice her life in order to save him. Although constant pain and torture were worse than instant death but her stubborn love for him knew no limit as She was the craziest one.

Finally, after what felt like hours, Helia stirred in his arms. Her eyes fluttered open as the girl felt something supporting her pulpy butt and her head like a baby carried by their parents...

'Big brother used to carry me this way when I was little.'

That was the first thought that came into her mind but soon her eyes moved as she looked up at the person who was carrying her with a confused expression.

The face was not visible as he was hugging her closely but she could see his crimson hair.

"Where am I?" she croaked, her voice barely audible over the sound of the wind as she questioned.

Nyla heard the call as she moved behind Rio to face the lioness's gaze, her face regaining brightness as she said in a vibrant tone, "Thank god, you woke up sister Helia."

The blonde-haired beauty's eyes welcomed the exhausted girl, soaked in her own sweat who was standing in the desert.

Helia's skin felt the burning effect of the searing sun as she remembered where she was and who could be carrying her if not Nyla.

"Let me go..." The girl retaliated, she was embarrassed to be carried by him as she felt his firm hand strongly holding her butt.

"You're injured, you can't walk in this condition..." The boy's heavy voice sounded as he was panting, carrying her for a long time in a harsh situation.<novelnext></novelnext>

The girl could feel how tired he was just by the tone of his voice and heavy breathing. A scent of manly scent invaded her nostril as the boy was drowned in sweat.

She felt a wave of embarrassment wash over her as she was, being carried like a helpless child by a man who she always fought with.

"Put me down, I can walk." She said once again, her voice barely above a whisper.

Rio looked down at her and shook his head. "Why do you need to be stubborn?"

He carefully lowered her to the ground and let go of his hands.

Helia tried to stand, but as soon as she put weight on her injured leg, she stumbled to the ground with a cry of pain.

"Mmmh..." Her face was scrunched in agony as the wounds were fresh and painful.

Nyla rushed to her side, saying, "Be careful, sister Helia."

The blonde-haired beauty tried to get up again but she fell once again. This time, Nyla caught her and helped her to sit on the hot ground that was burning her buttocks.

"It's okay, sister Helia. You should withdraw from here. We will find the Exalted Clover Ring for all of us." Nyla said, her voice tender and soft-hearted as she was concerned for the girl.

"No, you guys can go ahead without me but I won't leave. I can not give up, I need to do this for my sister." The lioness said, her eyes reluctant to withdraw.

"Then be a nice girl, and don't complain," Rio spoke as he moved to kneel down, his back facing her as he patted his shoulder for her to climb.

Helia opened her mouth to protest, but the words died on her lips. The blonde-haired beauty knew that she was in no condition to walk, but she didn't want to take his help either.
