Chapter 100: The Banquet of the Dead

After Nick knelt down, the air in the Requirement Room looked weird, and Hermione covered her mouth with her hands in surprise.

Ryan felt that the hair was standing upright at this time. After all, according to Dongfang's theory, letting someone older than him kneel on his knees would lose his life. How much life should a person like Nick lose by 500 years.

Not to mention that this is a country of corruption, Nick's action is too much like courtship, and Hermione may have been thinking crooked behind him.

In order to save his image, Ryan quickly said to Nick: "Sir, if you need my help, please say it directly, don't be like this. I can't bear such etiquette."

Nick also seemed to be excited just now, but now Ryan wakes up as soon as he speaks. He stood up and said, "Sorry, I scared you just now. But I really need your help with something very important."

After Nick pulled his ears off his head, Ryan heard Hermione's breathing behind him, and he himself felt a little uncomfortable in his stomach.

At this point Nick said, "Look, I got 44 slashes on the neck with a dull axe, and I'd like to cut it more cleanly than anyone. But it's a pity, because it's just a little bit of skin. I'm dying. If they die, they will be pushed out. Do they suffer more from losing their heads than I do?"

Ryan must have felt angry when he saw Nick's face brighten.

"They didn't suffer as much as I did, but they pushed me away because their heads completely moved. So—" Having said this, Nick took a breath to calm down and said, "Lane, I just saw that yours has caused damage to our ghosts. The ability of the wound, so I want you to help me cut off the remaining skin."

Ryan felt a little confused after hearing Nick's request. After all, cutting off a person's neck, even if it was just a ghost's neck, was a little too exciting for him.

So he said to Nick: "You must know that in the East, the complete separation of the head and the body is a very unlucky symbol. In ancient times, even if the beheading, the executioner tried to leave a little skin. So you should think about it again."

"I've been thinking about it for almost 500 years," Nick said in a suppressed voice. "You don't have to worry about those things, it's the UK after all, and things are different everywhere. Just do a little favor for a friend."

"This." Ryan looked back at Hermione in a panic, hoping to get a piece of advice from her. Hermione was also taken aback by this strange request, her hands clasped in front of her chest and staring down at the shoes, not knowing what to say.

After a long silence, Hermione finally raised her head and said: "I think the adjective almost headless is too bad for a ghost, and this kind of humiliation Nick has endured for almost five hundred years. Ryan, if you can help Give him a hand, and do your best to help him. After all, he's the ghost of our Gryffindors."

Well, it seems that Hermione put forward a relatively strong reason, Ryan thought about it after listening, and finally made up his mind. He raised his head and looked at Nick, who was staring at him with uneasy eyes, and said:

"Okay, I can help you. But you can't talk about it."

"Don't worry, I won't say it, I swear by Sir Popington."

Ryan nodded, letting Nick hold his head up with both hands, and then took a deep breath, saying that he was a dead man. Then he raised his calamus sword and swung it hard at the point where the flesh was connected.

The flesh was broken, and Nick threw his head to the ceiling because his hands were too hard.

Perhaps because of the completely headless Nick, Sir Nick looks a little clumsy in manipulating his body. It took him a lot of time to adjust and successfully put his head on his neck.

But Ryan could see that Nick was in a very good mood now, and the brightness of the entire spiritual body was much brighter than before.

After dancing in the air for a while, Nick finally remembered Ryan,

He floated in front of Ryan and said excitedly, "Thank you for helping me fulfill my wish for hundreds of years. I will remember your grace. You are my forever friend."

While Ryan was done with today's work and Hermione was getting ready to leave the Room of Requirement, Nick asked Ryan to help him keep the secret for a while. Because he wanted to be a blockbuster at his own banquet.

On the way out of the Requirement Room to the library, Hermione asked Ryan curiously, "Are ghosts very different from us in many ways? At least I don't think normal humans have such strange requests."

"In the book I read, most of the ghosts are the same as they were before they were alive, but it does not rule out that some ghosts have their own obsessions after death. Obviously Nick's obsession is its neck, so he will be so strange. request." Ryan replied with a shrug.

The days go by so fast, and Halloween is here. The auditorium is decorated with bats and carved jack-o-lanterns. There are rumors that Dumbledore has invited the Skulls to perform.

"Ha, I really don't understand why you're going to such a cold and damp place. You know, the food at the Halloween banquet is more plentiful than usual." In front of the auditorium, Ryan and Hermione were preparing to go to the basement, standing by Harry Ron next to them said to them both.

"Just knowing how to eat, you don't understand the beauty of acquiring knowledge." Hermione replied, then dragged Ryan to the basement.

On the way, Ryan took out the pre-drawn talisman paper and handed it to Hermione: "It's not good for the living and the undead to be together for a long time. With this, you will not be affected."

"Is this the rune of the Celestial Dynasty? It looks completely different from our ancient rune." Hermione said as she stuffed the rune into her pocket.

Small black candles were lit in the hallway, with a blue light shining on them. Lane felt that Nick created an atmosphere that was closer to Halloween than in the auditorium.

With every step they took to the basement, they could feel the temperature a little cooler. Fortunately, the talisman was also activated at this time, keeping the chilly aura out of the body.

The sound of fingernails scratching the blackboard echoed in the hallway. Maybe it was the music of the dead.

When they got to the door of the classroom, they saw Nick dressed up at the door to greet the guests.

"Welcome, my dearest friend." Nick took off his hat and bowed. "Come in, thank you for your help, I think today's banquet will be the biggest banquet in Britain in the past three hundred years."

The temperature in the basement was lower, and Ryan and Hermione could even breathe white here with just one mouth. Hundreds of ghosts waltzed together on the makeshift dance floor in the classroom's open space. On stage, a group of ghosts were making noise with musical saws. The blue light from a thousand candles in the chandelier on the ceiling illuminates it all.

"This is more like Halloween in the real wizarding world than the banquet in the auditorium." Lane heard Hermione say excitedly next to him.
