Chapter 41 - It's Just Another Day

[You have worked your body to the limit!]

[Congratulations! You gained +1 Agility and +2 Endurance!]

Shen fell to the ground after the interface showed up, telling him that his training was not useless.

He had been outside for like four and half hours to finish two sets of the training. Thanks to his growing Endurance and Agility, he finished the training quicker.

After resting on the ground, collecting his breath for a while Shen stood up. He headed to the house despite the exhaustion. The feeling of exhaustion was so real as he walked sluggishly into the house.

Shen sat on the bed and took out the remaining berries to fill his hunger, "Let's eat the berries tomorrow when I log in instead."

With that thought, Shen logged out of the game. He checked the time, it was nine-fifty. It was still early for him to sleep.

He opened the forum once again. The forum ranking board was still on the top. It had been viewed for almost fifty million views.

Shen could not understand why people kept checking the ranking board on the forum while they could check it from the game.

"That must be the media who kept checking the post to cover the news…" Shen muttered as he tried to reason behind the popular post.

Tribe Online had entered the worldwide trending in the media, whether it was online or traditional tv. Most of the news covered Tribe Online.

Shen opened the post once again and he was surprised that the highest level was still level 7. There were only two people who had reached level 7 by now, the two professional players, ZhangQ and Zhong Ye.

ZhangQ maintained his first place but he saw a name disappear from the ranking. Yue was not in third place anymore. She was not even in the top 10 anymore.

"She must have work that prevents her from playing the game…" he did a little search about Yue. She was an ex-actress, singer, and also model that retired very early and joined the game. She started with Universe Online with the in-game name, Xin two years ago.

That was another reason why Universe Online became the number one VRMMORPG in China before Tribe Online. She brought a big wave into the game with most of them being her fans. Most of them wanted to meet their idol in the game. This was the main reason Sky Corps contracted her as the brand ambassador. Her influence was not something that could be underestimated.

However, from the article, he read. The reason why the goddess of many decided to join the game remained unknown. Even the management that took care of her did not know the reason. She threw away her throne and joined the game.

He found her name in rank 12 though, which was quite high. The first batch of gaming pods in China was a hundred million. Meaning she was ranked 12 out of 100 million players.

But he was surprised that none of them had reached level 8 or even level 9. They reached level 5 on the first day, but only two players reached level 7. It was telling Shen that level grinding was not as easy as before.

After the first day, hunting the monsters should be easier. They got levels and also better equipment after the first day. Yet it was still much slower for leveling.

Shen shook his head and exited the post. He did not bother to read the comment as it was too much. The second post was the mayor's son's case. It was an update after the mayor's son was caught for assault.

He was surprised to see the result. He thought the mayor's son would be freed after a few hours of "investigation". However, the update was telling him that they would start the trial the day after tomorrow as the Cyber Police had managed to gather witnesses and evidence that indicated the major's son was guilty.

"It's understandable since this is the first case that involved Tribe Online. If the case gets prolonged, the Sky Corps' stock would plummet. The giant company must be pressuring the police to quickly close the case," Shen assumed, but deep inside he was glad that even the mayor's son could be prosecuted and even would be punished. That meant, the official could not abuse their power, making people with no background like him relieved from the issue.

Shen read the whole post that the mayor's son might be imprisoned for up to 4 years. That was a ridiculous way to enter the prison because of a game.

He closed the next and scrolled the forum. There was a player who got their first skills. The player posted the clip and also a screenshot that the player got a skill.

Only then Shen realized why the leveling became much slower. Skills, without a class the player could not learn a skill. As the monster got stronger, they did not have a skill that could kill the monster quickly.

Of course, obtaining a class was not the only way to get a skill. There were other ways yet to be found out.

The player must learn the skill through this one of many ways to obtain a skill. However, the post was hidden behind a paywall. Shen had to pay the forum currency, Skies Coin, or in short SC.

This was just one of many methods to earn money from the game. Of course, not everyone could put pay on their post. It was said that Sky had a big team to manage this. The player had to pass the screening before their post could be posted to avoid the scan. Inconvenient and it might be slow after many people tried to post more content. But this was the best way to avoid scan and troll.

"Maybe I should make a post as well. Posting those weird monsters and my dying clip may get me some tips…" Shen muttered in a low voice. From his perspective, it was suck to die in the early stages. But it might look funny to the others.

He nodded his head as he browsed the forum. He did not bother to pay the post behind the paywall. The situation he was in was not related to the skill. Paying now might not help him, at all but wasting his money. Maybe there would be an open post in the future about this. He was not that desperate for the skills since he had gotten a class.

Without realizing it, he spent more than half an hour browsing the forum. Of course, most of them did not help his situation.

Shen came out from the pod and reached the water bottle. Staying dehydrated and healthy was important since he would be playing the game all day.

Then he went to the bathroom and threw his body onto the bed. He set the alarm to time with the in-game time, "Four hours sleep should be enough…"

Four hours later…

The alarm was ringing. He opened his heavy eyelids and turned off the alarm. He checked the time, it was two-thirty in the morning. Nevertheless, he still woke up and reached the bottle.

There was a video that a glass of water in the morning could help to wake up his organs. He woke up and went to the bathroom. He washed his face and went to the kitchen.

He microwaved last night's butter croissant then he did a light stretch. Then he ate his favorite butter croissant. A light meal, half a glass of milk, and another glass of water. Shen was ready for another grinding.
