Chapter 84 - Encounter

Exp: 55,549,800/76,545,000

That was his current exp. Gaining 30 million exp did not bring him to the next level, and here he was expecting to gain several levels for soloing a Boss. He was utterly disappointed.

"Hahhh," Shen sighed out, this was getting harder than he thought. Despite the advantage of the skill and the bonus stats, the Legendary Class was much harder to level up. This would take years to max the level, level 100.

He shook his head and was about to store the Boss Monster into his inventory. This body was worth a lot. Especially the big silver snout. That might be a precious material for Brother Jiang. He was about to take the corpse until he heard the sound of the bush behind him.

Shen turned around with his spear pointing at the noise. The bushes in front of him were shaking. His heartbeat skipped a beat. He checked his window status, and he was left with 121 Stamina. Then he checked the spear's durability, and he was left with one percent durability.

His sword was left with less than five percent durability, and the spear might break apart anytime. No matter what monster would appear in front of him he had no chance to win against it. He did not have a weapon to use, 'My only chance is to bring the body with me and run away,'

Shen was about to store the King of Guardian Fish's body into his inventory but then three white small figures jumped out of the bushes. He subconsciously sidestepped to the side.

Grawl! Grawl!

He looked toward the voice then he found that the three small figures were white cats, small cats. Slightly bigger than kitties. White fur with black stripes over the body, and cyan eyes. The three cats were growling at him.

Shen tensed up. He was aware of where he was. The area where the high-level monsters gathered. He was not going to underestimate the three cats based on their size. They might be a dangerous predator in this area. The three white cats and Shen looked at each other.

He carefully observed the three cats and noticed that their eyes kept glancing at the King of the Guardian Fish's body. He understood why the three cats came to this place. They were attracted by the Boss Monster's blood. They wanted the body but he was not going to give the body to the three cats.

Shen slowly approached the King of Guardian Fish's body. When he was close enough he quickly extended his hand toward the body. The Boss Monster's massive body disappeared into his inventory. He was about to dash out of this place and got away from the cat until he heard a long growl from the three cats. It was long and sounded sad?

He stopped his steps and looked toward the three cats. They should know that he got the body. Instead of attacking him, the three looked at him with a pleaded gaze? He was not sure but he felt that way when he met the three cats' gazes. The low yet long grown sounded sad and along with their gazes, for some reason, it stung his heart.

'This is a game, Shen! They are just monsters in-game, not pitiful cats in real life. You should leave and bring back the precious body. Don't risk it or you will lose all the exp,' he kept looking at the three cats. The three kept gazing at him with their puppy eyes.

Shen looked and walked away but then he heard the growl again. He let out a defeated sigh and turned toward the cat, "Fine, you win," He checked his inventory. There was a stack of the Guardian Fish there. He took out three Guardian Fish's bodies. Sure enough, the three cats' gaze intensified and locked on the fish in his hand.

"You can have this," He threw the three fish a few meters ahead of him.

Fwoosh! Fwoosh! Fwoosh!

The three cats' movements were so fast as he only saw a blur of white streaks lunged into the three fish. He subconsciously took a step back as he was not expecting they would be this fast. However, the three small cats did not attack him.

They got the fish into their mouth and turned around. They carried the fish away instead of eating it right away. It was not the behavior of a starving cat, right? So why did they want the fish? Curiosity got him there as he immediately chased after the three white cats.

He passed through the bushes as he barely kept up with their speed. The three small cats went through the hill and entered the giant cave. He stopped in front of the giant cave.

Ten meters tall and eight meters wide, that was the mouth of the cave, and it was so dark inside. Shen was hesitating to follow the three cats, 'But I am already here…' He checked his stamina and hunger. The hunger was reaching 17 points, "Let's take a break for a moment to recover some stamina and also the eat the roasted fish,"

Shen sat at the mouth cave and ate the roasted fish. By the time he finished the fish, his stamina recovered up to three hundred and his hunger rose back to ninety-seven, "This should be enough,"

He then entered the cave. To his surprise, the cave was not as dark as it looked from the outside. Seven meters into the cave, he was directed to the left. He stopped a moment at the turn as he found the source of the light. Despite its size, the cave was not that deep as he saw the source of the light at the end of the cave.

He walked into the cave as he tried to make no sound. He was afraid that he would alert the creature that lived in this cave. At his fifteenth step, he heard a fierce female voice echoed inside the cave.

"If you don't want to die, you should leave the cave, Human!"

Shen subconsciously took three steps back at the voice and tried to find who was talking to him. He was not paying attention to the ground and stepped into a pool of liquid water. He subconsciously raised his right foot and looked down. There he saw a pool of blood instead of water.

Shen squinted his eyes and looked toward the source of the light. He felt that the voice came from there, 'She warned me instead of attacking me, and there's a pool of blood,' He connected the dots and realized what happened. There was a high chance that the one who spoke to him was injured so that was why she threatened him instead of attacking.

'She could not fight,' Shen braced himself to take steps forward, "I am here not to fight, we can talk it out!"

"Hahahaha…" The female laughter rang in the cave, "Do you think I will believe what you say, Human!? Don't be ridiculous! I would rather believe in the demon's words than a human!"

The hostility in her voice was so clear but he did not intend to fight her even though she was injured, "I am serious with my words. I am here because I am following the three kittens. I just want to check on them. Also, you are injured. I might help you with that," Shen tried to talk it out with the female voice as he stopped his steps. He would not get closer unless she allowed him to. He needed to gain her trust so he could see her.

"You met with my children!?" The female voice questioned him, "Don't joke around, human. If you meet them, there's no way you will allow them to leave just like that! Don't try to lie to me. You come to catch my children! Leave before I change my mind, Human!"

"No, I am serious. I give them my fish. Why would I give them my fish and leave them free if I really want to catch your children?" Shen then took out one Guardian Fish and showed it forward, "This is the same fish I give them. I am just curious why they carry the fish instead of eating it. I thought they were starving. That's why I am following them here, and I know now why they carried the fish with them instead of eating it,"

There was a momentary silence after that. He did not hear the reply again but he stayed still. He was not going to antagonize the voice. It would be better to settle this thing amiably.

"Alright then, you can come over," After some time, he heard the female voice again. The voice allowed him to enter the cave.
