Primordial Dimensions

Chapter 228: Permanent contract

"Conditions? As long as you don't demand anything impossible, it should be fine" Shane replied, smiling lightly without much meaning behind.

Aimy, who had expected this answer, didn't hesitate and said confidently.

"We know that you don't want to tell us everything about you.

This is perfectly fine with us because everyone has their own secrets. However, if you want us to join your faction once you were to establish one, you should be honest with us. That is, if it involves our own safety, and not only your privacy.

We would like you to tell us more about you but that is not something we can force. Just don't lie to us. The other condition would be that you are not allowed to throw us away once we are not useful to you anymore!

This condition might look weird to you but from what we can see and hear, one can tell that your talent is much higher than ours! As such, we just hope to help you somehow. It's not like we need your whole attention but we don't want to be discarded like trash, once your purpose has been served…."

While Shane had expected something similar to the first condition, the latter astonished him a little. He would never do something like throwing someone away once they were deemed useless.

This was not how he thought because everyone was somehow useful. It was weird for Shane to hear the latter condition but he accepted both without hesitation.

With a bright smile that cleared his confusion, he was happy to have found the first two unofficial members for his faction.

Now, only Talia and her friends had to accept his offer and everything would be perfect.

When his system messenger rang again, notifying him about a message he received, he saw that it was a second message from the Corvi assistant merchant, telling him that they were fine with signing a permanent contract with him.

Both parties were allowed to dissolve the contract whenever they wanted, and nobody was bound to provide a prior intimation to the other party This could be a disadvantage to the Corvi race because it allowed Shane to search for another merchant which would offer him a better price.

Terminating the contract could be done in a second and if that were to happen, the Corvi race would be left without a supply of Nightshade flowers. However, the same could happen the other way and be seen as an attempt of the Corvi race to lower the payable price for his Nightshade flowers.

Looking at the pricelist they sent him, Shane could only grin widely, seeing that they were trying to do the exact same thing he had assumed.

Meanwhile Aimy, Olivia, and Aisha were talking to each other, and glanced at Shane when they saw his weird smile.

"These greenhorns" was the only thing Shane mumbled as he began to type a message.

[I won't stand on ceremony, seeing this utter garbage of a price list.

As you might know, I'm still in possession of the old price list. Because I'm nice...but this is the last chance to take me seriously, otherwise, I will look for a different merchant!

Take the edited pricelist or reject it, but be aware that I won't do any business transaction with you anymore!!

Furthermore, I just added a contract termination period of 180 days, with that, you can't lower the price through a stupid excuse!

→Nightshade flowers(Trash)= 8→10.5 silver coins/each

→ Nightshade flowers(Common)=12→15.5 silver coins/each

→ Nightshade flowers (Uncommon)=17→35 silver coins/each

→ Nightshade flowers (Rare)=35→80 silver coins/each

As already said, take it or leave, I don't have to rely on you and there is a fat chance I allow you to trick me into signing a disadvantageous, permanent contract!

Greetings, Orus!]

Shane had exaggerated his rage a little but that was exactly what he had wanted to show them; his anger!

He was not some pawn in their grand game and if they were under this false assumption, he had to ensure that he put them in their place. He had already been generous enough to accept this pricelist.

The price for the [Trash] and [Common] Nightshade flowers remained exactly the same as it was in the old contract he had with the Corvi race.

However, the other prices for the more valuable Nightshade flowers increased by a large margin, simply because they were much rarer. Additionally, they created denser and purer darkness transmuted mana than multiple Nightshade flowers at the lower quality while occupying marginal space.

This was a crucial factor!

Shane found that his price was much better than what others would demand the Corvi race, and it took only half an hour before he received the signed contract.

This made him happy and Shane momentarily forgot to continue purchasing the goods he required to hunt the Lesser Starlet fox without injuring it!

Only now did he realize that he was still in Aisha's office which caused him to throw a confused look at Aimy, Aisha, and Olivia, who were still talking to each other, seemingly like friends.

'I didn't expect them to be friends.'

Standing up from the couch he had been sitting on for a few hours now, Shane bid the others farewell saying that he had many things to do for now.

Nobody asked him what exactly that was, thinking that it was Shane's business that caused him to smile oddly.

He began to wonder why exactly he had even promised Aimy and Olivia to be honest with them if they wouldn't even ask.

However, instead of being bothered about that, he left the office where he met a few Valkyries, who he greeted with a faint smile before he left the dorm.

"Did he become more handsome?"

"What the hell is wrong with you...he was always that handsome!!"

Shane heard this only faintly, but it caused him to accelerate his speed as he continued to look through several shops to purchase all kinds of stuff for his [Mythic] mission after he sold the Nightshade flowers in his possession.

[11,145x[Trash] Nightshade flowers, 1267x[Common] Nightshade flowers, 108x[Uncommon] Nightshade flowers, and 4x[Rare] Nightshade flowers were sold to [Yangra Ugri] for 1407 gold coins and 61 silver coins!]

The [Trash] quality Nightshade flowers made the most profit which caused Shane to sulk once again because the quantity was better than quality in this case. However, after reminding himself that he would be unable to provide enough mana for several tens of thousand [Trash] quality Nightshade flowers inside the Hidden Paradise, even if the trash quality roots had been unscathed, Shane was able to calm down.

After creating the Nightshade flower field in the Hidden Paradise, he would have to awaken his world's mana heart as one of the highest priorities. At least, if he wanted to increase his profit further without being held back by the amount of mana Shane's surroundings could supply!

Able to retain calm, Shane looked at his high finances of 33,391 gold coins and 75 silver coins one last time before he started his shopping spree.

3x[Spatial restriction parchment [Enhanced Seal (1km radius) [Tier-1 (Extraordinary]

→ 3,000 gold coins/each

50x[Reinforced taratector net [Chaotic Space] [Tier-1 (Extraordinary)]

→ 80 gold coins/each

50x[Reinforced taratector net [Distorted Space] [Tier-2 (Extraordinary)]

→ 300 gold coins/each

With all these items on his purchase list, he began to wonder if the Tier-2 reinforced taractecor nets were even necessary because the ones with a Tier-1 grade and [extraordinary] quality would be strong enough to withstand beasts at the Low-Awakened stage.

After he remembered that, Shane changed the things in his purchase list to the goods he really needed. He then purchased 200x [Tier-1 (Extraordinary] reinforced taratectors nets with the [Chaotic space] ability that would prevent the Lesser Starlet Fox from using its spatial affinity. Additionally, he also purchased two [Tier-1 (Extraordinary)] spatial restriction parchments with the [enhanced seal] ability that strengthened the spatial seal up to a radius of 1 kilometer.

As such, Shane had to pay 22,000 gold coins in addition to the transfer fee of 10%, which increased the price to a total of 24,200 gold coins.

After that, he browsed through a different shop where he purchased a [Tier-2 (Uncommon)] mana concealment potion for 10 gold coins. Its effect would last for 7 days and Shane was confident that his mana would be suppressed to a large degree.

Shane's fortune decreased to 9180 gold coins and 75 silver coins in an instant after he was done with his small shopping spree.

It stung his heart but Shane knew that he could reuse or even sell the nets, and unused spatial restriction parchment as long as he didn't damage anything.

Furthermore, as long as he could catch the Lesser Starlet Fox, he would be fine.

Now that he had purchased everything, there were only a few things left to do. One of them was to use the unknown amount of time for the Dimension-Sphere in order to learn the concealment skill, as a reward in the last [Wealth] ranking where he had accumulated more than 1 million gold coins in a month.

This would add an additional layer to conceal his mana, preventing the mana-sensitive Lesser Starlet Fox from perceiving him through his mana fluctuations.

After reading through the notification sent by the Shirai academy, he found out that he received a 100% bonus for the monthly [Wealth] ranking because he had crossed the threshold of 1 million coins while being at the Apprentice stage.

As a reward for becoming first place at the [Wealth] ranking, he received an extra five hours permission to use the Dimension-Sphere totaling it to 10 hours thanks to the bonus.

This was a nice surprise and Shane decided to utilize all those 10 hours at once as he immediately reserved one of the Dimension-Spheres until the next morning.

'Other than that, I'll have to wait for Talia and her friends' decision before I can depart to the Elus-races' Starlight-river dimension. As such, I might have some spare time to study the dimension's map about the surrounding areas more intently?'

Shane was already expectant about what would happen in the future, but more importantly about how exactly his first hunt of a Lesser Starlet Fox would turn out.

Walking towards the colosseum where the Dimension spheres were situated, Shane smiled brightly, thinking that everything worked according to his plan.

How should he have known that this was just the calm before the storm?? Would he have done something differently, or was his path predestined?
