Primordial Dimensions

Chapter 389: Beyond the possible

After the semi-finale ended in a clearly one-sided match that had shocked Shane, four days had passed.

Despite knowing that Megane was a force to reckon, he couldn't help but feel queasy.

The day of the finale was finally upon him and Shane had conditioned his mindset through these four days, nurturing and accumulating his determination and excitement to fight.

At the same time, he was mindful of what could happen in the 30 seconds in which he wanted to fight against Megane.

They had already entered the arena, and Megane was looking at him with a glint of killing-intent while the aura of death was already emanating from her.

Seeing this, Shane couldn't help but ignore everything else and release his fighting spirit in addition to his excitement, unleashing the [Warrior's Heart] passive skill.

Meanwhile, the [Hunter's mind] passive skill was activated too, calming his mind that was filled with all kinds of emotions.

It was only the moment the system initiated the start of the basic primordial tournament's final battle that Shane's mind entered a state he had only thought to be possible to enter while cultivating; the zone!

This would have shocked Shane if his focus had been on anyone else but Megane, who was just lifting her hands to shoot out the thunder bullets he was already familiar with.

Everything was moving at an extremely slow pace and a faint smile emerged on Shane's face when he noticed this.

He didn't know that his mind was processing everything so rapidly due to the [Warrior's Heart] passive skill that time seemed to have slowed down for him, while it further decreased owing to the zone he had entered.

'I can evade it!'

Confidence spurted from Shane as he released a tremendous amount of mana right from the beginning of the battle, overclocking the [Light steps] movement technique he exerted, increasing his speed rapidly.

At the same time, he had already unleashed his bloodlust-killing-intent that enveloped him tightly, enhancing his body, mana circulation speed, and excitement that had attained previously unknown heights.

This further reinforced the [Warrior's Heart] passive skill, allowing Shane to release even more mana which he circulated through his entire body.

His skin was already tearing apart and blood oozed from his body's pores while his smile just widened.

The battle had just begun and less than one second had passed, but Shane knew that his strength had reached an extent he had never attained before.

Shane's natural physical strength was already at par with the strongest of the strong physically advanced fighters, owing to his completely perfect physique and his tamed beasts that transferred some of their strength to him.

Nevertheless, his natural traits were still not at par with Megane's, and Shane was fully aware of that.

Because of this, he had to use every single means to strengthen himself!!

As such, he not only used his natural physical strength, his skills, his bloodlust-killing-intent, and the enormous amount of mana he was currently circulating through his body, but also the [Berserk Hunter] title's skill [Berserk]!

His strength increased by another 10% as well as his mana circulation, allowing him to go beyond his limits Shane thought to have already crossed!

At that moment, the thunder bullets reached him, but instead of retreating, Shane couldn't help but lean a little forward, as he pushed himself forward.

Deep cracks appeared on the ground as he shot forward leaving crimson-red trails of blood behind as he had already emerged in front of Megane, who seemed as nonchalant as before.

Her hand that was enveloped in electric currents turned ice-cold and Shane's mind immediately registered what was about to happen.

As such, he forcefully averted his direction by pushing his left foot against the ground.

Shane could hear a faint cracking sound, but he couldn't afford to feel any pain right now.

This allowed him to ignore everything as he pushed his feet to the right while slashing out with the Invincible Scimitar.

He had subconsciously filled it with enough mana to turn it into a weapon capable of destroying everything within the basic primordial dimensions!

Only a fraction of a second later, a huge ice wall that had deadly spikes all over its surface manifested on Shane's left side, exactly at the position he would have moved to under normal circumstances.

The Scimitar that was already brandished, cut through the wall as if it was made of paper.

Just a moment later, Shane sensed tremendous thunder transmuted mana fluctuations from Megane's spot, as a batch of dozen thunder bullets shot through the crumbling wall, right at the position he was running to.

Forced to continue running, or risk breaking his ankles, Shane could only slash out with the Invincible Scimitar attaining the highest speed he could.

He released even more mana from the Hidden Paradise, breaking a third time through his limit, and reached a speed fast enough to destroy a majority of thunder bullets before the remaining ones hit him.

In the end, a total of two thunder bullets pierced through him, one through his thigh and the other one through his unarmed arm.

It burned and was painful, but even worse was the pain originating from the ginormous mana that swept through his body.

His entire skin was torn open and his fair skin had turned blood red, leaving no trace of him being a human anymore.

'Is that how it ends? Is that everything my body can take??'

At that moment, Shane felt something deep within him that told him that he had yet to reach his limit, that he could overcome this threat, that it was still not over.

Unbeknownst to Shane, he didn't even notice that this inner voice he perceived was none other than [Artemis' blessing] that had 'spoken' to him without the system's interference.

Even if he didn't realize who, or what had spoken to him, Shane couldn't give up now, not if he hadn't used every fighting technique and every survival trick so far in his life!

It was something he had never done before, but if his body told him that there was still some space left to increase his strength, it might as well be worth a try.

As such, Shane released the two remaining usages of the [Berserk] skill at once that overlapped with the first usage which still had four seconds left before its effect would be worn out.

Through this, Shane's pupils dilated, while the blood seeping out of his eyes seemed to turn a deep crimson.

Ignoring the pain he felt, he transferred even more mana from the Hidden Paradise to himself.

However, instead of circulating it through his body which would have certainly killed him, Shane released everything at once.

He tried to intimidate Megane, which was seemingly impossible to know if it worked or not as she had yet to show a facial expression.

Just at that moment, Shane pushed himself forward as his entire demeanor changed.

The released mana was intertwined with his bloodlust-killing-intent, but instead of becoming more intimidating, something unexpected happened.

Out of a sudden, the bloodlust-killing-intent pushed itself closer to Shane's skin that was soaked in blood as it began to glow eerily.

With three overlapping [Berserk] usages activated and the bloodlust-killing-intent that seemed to be forcefully enhancing his blood, Shane's speed increased even further as his entire body expanded.

Every single tissue inside his body seemed to enlarge, tearing his clothes to make room for the growing muscles as he emerged in front of Megane, who couldn't react in time.

She had wanted to manifest an ice wall in front of him, but it took a quarter of a second for her to switch her affinities.

Thus, Shane had appeared in front of her while the spiked ice wall was erected behind him.

At that moment, he could see that Megane's facial expression was changing for the first time.
