Bzzz!

As soon as Legolas stepped through the rainbow bridge and reappeared in the familiar surroundings of the headquarters of the Hunter Union, his virtual interface greeted him with this notification.

Since he and his student entered the beast plane through the secure surroundings of their allocated room, they also returned there.

Legolas yawned loudly as he breath in Planet Darvis air again.

"Roar!" Predator also relished the joy of returning to familiar surroundings.

The first thing that Legolas did was unlocking the door to let the beasts, Predator, Bran, and Leo outside before he finally locked it against them.

He turned to face Christensen. "Do what you want to do".

"Akela's crazy stunt drained the hell out of me, I need to sleep".

Without waiting for his student's reply, Legolas plunged into the bed as he closed his eyes, willingly succumbing to the inviting embrace of the world of sleep.

As soon as his master slept, still standing, Christensen silently looked at his master. Like a movie, all the experiences in the beast plane started playing in his head, everything felt too good to be true.

He chuckled. "Master keeps drifting away from my grasp".

"Hell, even Blade is becoming a favorite now".

"I'm not even confident of winning against him in a one-on-one battle".

He looked down and clenched his fists. "I'm being left behind".

He hated this feeling, this feeling of helplessness and jealousy as others exceeded him and left him in the dust. He thought he already lived above it as he grew stronger under his master but here, he was again, he was still human.

Christensen slumped down on the nearby chair in the room as he slowly drifted into the world of his mind where his thoughts were chaotic and jumbled up.

'Master says I need to choose between the Shepherd and Beast Combatant advancement classes'.

'I already made my choice, yet why can't I advance?'

'Or perhaps, do I need to do more than just choosing?'

As soon as the thought came, it could no longer leave. This also made him remember a vow that he made to his master.

'My super way is to catch up to you and exceed you'.

'Since I'm not as talented, I will put in more work'.

'If you train 8 hours every day, I'll put in more effort and train 16 hours every day'.

'If you hone your fighting skills 3 hours every day, I'll hone mine 6 hours every day'.

'If you read to learn knowledges 2 hours every day…, I'll overcome my fear of books and read 4 hours every day'.

Christensen turned his head to look at his sleeping master, he chuckled. "I've not given up on my vow yet, there's no room for me to sleep".

He stood up and left the room.

On going outside, he ignored Blade and everyone's attempts to speak to him about their journey as he walked straight to Leo. Without giving any explanations, he mounted the Frost Wolf and ordered it to sprint away.

Christensen was off to the Frost Forest.

As the Frost Wolf sprinted out of the confines of the Hunter Union's headquarters, Blade looked at his big brother's fading back speechlessly.

10 minutes later…

Knock! Knock!

A frightening frown came over Legolas's face as he heard it.

Knock!

"The f*ck!!!"

His master's roar frightened the living hell out of Blade.

He was about to sneak away before being found out but he was not fast enough, an irritated Legolas already arrived before the door as he opened it, exposing his face that was as red as pepper before his student.

"What?" Legolas asked flatly.

Blade forced a smile. "Umm…, Christensen…"

"What happened to Christensen?"

"He left feeling a little angry and agitated, so I don't know, you know…"

"Christensen left?" Legolas raised his eyebrows.

"Yes". Blade heaved a subtle sigh of relief.

"Who knows? I don't know why he left". Legolas rubbed his eyes that were still sleepy. "Is that why you woke me from my sleep?"

Blade chuckled. "Of course, not". He smiled brightly. "Some guys came this morning seeking to join our faction, they seemed to know Raining Sword".

"They've been bickering with the other guys since morning".

Legolas raised his eyebrows even higher. New guys who knew Raining Sword and were bickering with them since morning, these were definitely players and not just any players, pro players.

"Lead the way".

Legolas wore his clothes and followed his student out.

As soon as Legolas arrived at the part of the Hunter Union headquarters were his faction members were gathered, he saw them from afar and instantly recognized them as a smirk came over his face.

Raining Sword had an unbelievable expression on his face. "I can't believe you're so shameless that you actually came for what we found first".

"Where's the pride of the Freezing Trout team?"

A player who was built like a Giant was at the receiving end of Raining Sword's words. With a massive Great Sword resting casually on his shoulders, he looked brutish, this was Desert Gust, the Berserker God.

Alongside the Sword God Raining Sword, these 2 pro players of rival game clubs were widely recognized as the best European VR pro game players.

Desert Gust smirked. "You say our pride, actually, our pride is still fully intact, it's your pride that has been dragged through the dirt".

"How can you be shameless enough to try monopolizing the main character of a whole version to yourselves? My gosh, that's too shameless I'm blushing on your behalf, damn, have you no shame?"

"…" Raining Sword speechlessly looked at him.

In the end, Raining Sword burst out laughing. "You're drunk".

Suddenly, his laugh came to an abrupt stop as he and the other members of the Blue Autumn team stood up. "Faction leader".

As soon as he heard that sensitive term, Desert Gust's eyes shone like lanterns as with the comeliest smile on his face, he turned to face the NPC.

"Oh, Great Legolas, Breaker of Chains, Liberator of Clubs, King of…"

This guy was still the same as Legolas remembered him as, unlike the cool and silent Sword God who girls died for in every one of his interviews, the Berserker God was an enthusiastic, funny, and extremely talkative player.

Legolas stopped this player's word bombardment with a single sentence.

"Welcome to my faction".

"Talented warriors like you and your companions are always welcome in my entourage". He smiled at this player whose reaction was like he still couldn't believe his ears on hearing what he just said.

Legolas patted his shoulders. "Work hard".

As Legolas turned to leave with his student, the shock of Desert Gust and his teammates was as great as the one that Raining Sword and his teammates experienced, their faces were as if they just saw a ghost.

"What the… f*ck!"

Deep in the Frost Forest…

"Leo-Chris Beast Combo: Barrage of Death!"

One last combination attack enabled Christensen and his contracted beast to take down the Giant Centipede Monster.

As the beast died and as Christensen collapsed to the ground from exhaustion, his eyes shone as a light of epiphany suddenly shone in his head.

It happened abruptly but Christensen did well to hold tight on to it.

"I finally got it!"

"I did it!"

"I'm now a Beast Combatant!"

His eyes constricted in joy from his achievement as a few seconds later, he fainted from all the exhaustion that he accumulated in his crazy stunt.
