Reincarnated Assassin

The lizard beastkin slowly pulled his poisonous blade out of the bull beastkin's back. His face filled with anger and feelings of betrayal. But his eyes showed no stability, they were the eyes of prey killing out of necessity and disparity.

Amora and Benedire seeing their old comrade bleeding on the floor, they couldn't help think their friend will die. Causing their blood to boil with rage.

They're mind flooded with the thought of killing the lizard beastkin.

The angered duo charged forward with malice and no hesitation. Their emotions shrouded with grief and rage.

Benedires shouted,

"You bastard!".

Amora,

"Die!".

The two quickly reached the beastkin and used their magic at the same time. Benedire using earth magic to sprout a spike from the ground, aiming for the lizard beastkin's stomach. And Amora swinging her sword down onto the beastkin's head while using the wand to cast a wind magic spell.

Arufa (Lizard Beastkin) quickly raised his wand and smacked the incoming sword and deflecting the blade while saying.

"Fǔshí bǎn".

A small black shield manifested in between of the spike sprouting from the ground and the lizard beastkin. As soon as the spike touched the black circular shield, it disintegrated into dust.

Amora seeing the effects of the black shield, she knew they had to step back. Originally she was going to use her wand to send another attack at the beastkin but instead she used it to escape.

Amora,

"Fēng jí tuì".

The spell caused a wind to push Amora and Benedire one way and the beastkin the opposite way. Causing them to be a couple of meters apart and out of melee distance.

Amora,

"Be careful, he's a specialized dark magician too".

Benedire,

"I saw and almost died because of it".

"Let's try again, and be careful. We don't know if he can use more than one of those spells at a time".

Amora then nodded to Benedire to get confirmation that he was ready and Benedire nodded back. Seeing the nod, she charged in first while acc.u.mulating water magic on the tip of her wand.

Benedire quickly followed but then spontaneously said,

"Fēngxíng".

An unusual breeze was created and started helping Benedire. His speed doubled, allowing him to quickly pass Amora and reach the beastkin first.

With Benedire in melee distance, the beastkin quickly used his black shield-like spell to fly straight to Benedire.

Benedire responded by increasing his speed and dodging last second before the black shield reached him. The sudden movement didn't allow the beastkin to change the shield's trajectory so his spell missed and couldn't be used to defend him anymore.

With no other option, he charged forward and slashed for Benedire's neck. The knife almost reaching his neck, Benedire used his wind magic to stop himself. Allowing the beastkin's attack to slash the air a couple of inches before Benedire's neck.

Having no dark shield and missing his attack, Amora quickly used her attack during his vulnerable moment.

"Bō".

A large body of water emerged with steam rising into the air. Fully manifested, it then splashed forward onto the beastkin.

The wave of water hitting his body while his fire domain was activated made the water into boiling hot water. Causing his skin to burn.

Amora,

"We got him!".

Benedire on the other hand didn't celebrate or make a sound.

Amora,

"Benedire?".

She then turned to look at Benedire and saw that he was stabbed by the beastkin. The beastkin had slight burns on his skin but not any real damage.

"I'm a lizard beastkin, I have a fire tolerance, including boiling water you dumb b!tch".

The beastkin then stepped back while pulling the blade from Benedire stomach, but Benedire still had some consciousness. Before falling unconscious from the poisonous blade, Benedire grabbed a small hidden blade from his belt and stabbed the beastkin in the same position that the beastkin stabbed him and twisted it.

Fully twisting the blade, Benedire lost the last of his consciousness and fell.

Amora,

"You Bastard!".

She charged with no caution to the bleeding beastkin, ready to trade blows.

The beastkin on the other hand painfully smiled, he dropped his knife and firmly used the hand to press the wound Benedire left him while using the wand to point at her.

Suddenly, the black shield he manifested before came flying at her. She quickly realized what was happening and stopped charging to jump back. Sadly it wasn't quick enough and the black shield was able to hit her left elbow.

The black shield caused her elbow to become almost completely destroyed, only leaving a string of muscle and a bit of tendon still connecting her forearm to her body.

Arufa,

"You dumb girl, don't you know your no match against me now that he's gone? Even with me wounded, I can still easily defeat-".

Arufa quickly tilted his head and let two short knives fly past his head and stab into the ground.

Arufa stopped smiling and annoyed, he then turned to look at the origin of where the blades came from.

Looking at Ritzy he said in a displeased voice,

"You survived, I don't go kill you, and I let you watch this fight, but you still decided to bother me during my moment!".

Arufa's mind,

'When did he get here!?! I can see him, but my domain doesn't notice him!?! All I can feel is an inanimate object. Luckily, my domain sensed the blades flying to me, or I would've never known he was here and he could've escaped. F*cking dumbass human not running away when he had the chance'.

Ritzy seeing his attack fail and cover blown, Ritzy jumped down from the roof and then used wind magic to cushion his fall on the building floor.

"Oh, so your blessing is wind magic. Should've kept that hidden, at least that way you could've had a chance. Even if the chance is minuscule".

Arufa could only see red with his domain on so he couldn't see that Ritzy eyes were glowing gold. Causing him to believe Ritzy's blessing was wind magic since Ritzy didn't need to cast a wind magic spell to use wind magic.

Not responding to Arufa's word, Ritzy charged forward.

Arufa,

"You really think you can beat me? Look around you, these people are much more qualified than you are and they still failed".

Ritzy continued running and ignoring the beastkin's remarks.

Arufa,

"What a f*cking idiot".

Arufa raised his wand and c.u.mulated fire magic.

Arufa,

"Huǒ làng".

A wall of fire was created and went forward onto Ritzy and enveloped him.

Amora recognized Ritzy but not as Ritzy.

"Amantay! Not again! I've seen you die once, I can't see you die again".

Amora dropped onto her knees, weeping from remembering her late husband and him sacrificing himself again from beyond the grave.

Ritzy didn't panic and instead used fire magic calmy. He ran straight into the wave of fire but just as he was about to touch the fire, the fire moved unnaturally. The fire avoided Ritzy, leaving an inch of space between his skin and the flames of the beastkin's spell.

Going inside the vast amount of fire, Ritzy disappeared from everyone's vision.

Arufa chuckled and said,

"Useless to the end, and I was worried earlier because I couldn't sense him".

As the fire was dying out, a hand stretched out of the sea of fire and grabbed the beastkin's mouth. Water magic then acc.u.mulated from the palm of the hand, making water to manifest in the beastkin mouth. But since water magic was still being created, it became overflowing.

With the hand blocking the exit and water constantly being created, water went down the beastkin's throat and filled his lungs. Drowning and killing him slowly.

Seconds ticked by as he hit the arm holding him. Then he stopped once the fire finally settled down enough for the beastkin to see who's hand was holding him.

In his view, he saw the arm lead up to Ritzy. Ritzy's eyes were filled with certainty and no sense of fear. Flames were visible that reached up to Ritzy's knees but oddly didn't seem to effect him.

Seeing his assailant, he wanted to fight but he had no more energy. The lack of oxygen and his struggle from before has left him helpless.

Ritzy gave a slight smiled upon seeing the beastkin's eyes losing hope.

Ritzy,

"Useless to the end, and I was worried earlier because of your fire spell".
