The Blue Eyes

Chapter 151 - THE DUNGEON

"Are you sure we don't need to wait for Blue to come back from her school first?" Kris asked while driving his car carefully.

It was almost noon, and the road was full of vehicles. Cars and buses jostled down the road, looking for opportunities to overtake each other.

"Yeah," Kevin answered. "We are heading to a dangerous place, and it's better if we go without Blue."

"You are worried about Blue when you are the one without powers here," Jack, who was sitting at the back seat, suddenly chimed in.

Kevin turned his head to the back and glared at the blonde-haired man. "Just shut up, Jack! I'm still angry with you!" He replied in an annoyed tone.

"You two seem to get closer in just one day," Kris commented.

Kevin shifted his gaze to him and stared at him in surprise. "We are not close!" He rebuked. "You are right, Kris. Jack is such an annoying man."

Kevin was usually composed when he was dealing with Jack, Jack got on his nerves so many times today, and he couldn't tolerate it anymore.

"Anyway, Kev. Should we stop by the hospital first? You need a professional's hands to treat your wound. Someone treated your wound messily, and it might get infected later."

Jack's eyes widened at Kris's statement. Even though Kris didn't mention a name, but he wasn't stupid to get the real meaning behind the sarcasm.

Kevin lifted his bandaged hand and examined it closely. "My hand is fine now. You don't need to worry," he answered.

Kris wanted to protest, but from Kevin's tone just now, he knew that what his lover just said was a final decision. That was why he chose to nod and didn't prolong the matter.

"I intended on going to the laboratory today, but the accident with Julia ruined my plan," Kevin spoke again as he leaned his back against the back of the seat.

"You intended on going to the laboratory today? That's why you left me when I was asleep this morning?" Kris asked sarcastically.

Kevin giggled amusedly at the sarcasm. "You wouldn't let me go, so I deliberately left when you were still asleep. I was planning on taking Jack and Blue for breakfast before going to the lab, but Julia appeared and ruined my plans."

Kris peered at his lover as he smiled warmly, then he stretched his right hand to ruffle his lover's black hair for a moment. "That's your karma for leaving your boyfriend alone in the room," he stated jokingly.

The romantic scene in front of him worsened Jack's mood. He sighed and leaned back on the back of the seat before closing his eyes to avoid the scene.

"But, how did you know that I was at the orphanage this morning, Kris?" Kevin asked after a few seconds pause.

"I put a tracker on your phone, so don't dream to leave me without a trace. I'm going to find you anywhere you go."

The answer made Kevin's eyes widen. He immediately fished out his phone and checked the sophisticated object. He didn't find any strange thing on the phone, so he looked up at Kris again. "Where did you put the tracker?" He asked.

Kris smirked as he answered, "I lied to you." He sneakily glanced at his lover. "I didn't put the tracker on your phone, but I put it on your body. Can you guess where did I put the tracker?"

Kevin's face turned as red as the tomato after he heard Kris's statement. "Kris!" He exclaimed angrily. "Stop joking around and tell me the truth!"

A series of laughter was heard inside the car. Kris really couldn't hold back his laughter when he saw his lover's funny expression. "I put it on your phone, but it's in a hidden place. Don't worry, the tracker is not dangerous," he explained.

Kevin pouted and put his phone back in his pants pocket. "You are more annoying than Jack, Kris."

Hearing his name being mentioned, Jack slowly opened his eyes. "You just realized about that?" He suddenly asked. "Your man is the most annoying creature on this planet. That's why we are fighting all the time. I'm glad that you finally realize it."

Kris glared at the tattooed man through the rearview mirror, but the man just smirked at him.

"Anyway, I'm currently preparing for the antidote injection in your bodies and Blue's. After I start working in the laboratory again, I'll do the injection procedure."

Sensing that Kevin turned to serious mode again, Kris peeked at his lover. "I don't see you preparing lately. What preparation do you mean?" He asked curiously.

Kevin turned to him and tilted his head. "I'm preparing something in secret, and this secret will be the biggest secret of the year!" He suddenly boasted excitedly.

"Seeing you like that, it feels like you have two personalities, Kevin," Jack commented from the back seat.

Kevin glanced at him but didn't say anything. He just smiled as he focused his sight on the road ahead.

They were passing a deserted road. It was a narrow road in the suburban area. There were many old buildings on the sides of the road. The buildings were like haunted houses, and it seemed like the buildings were no longer used. Kevin knew this area, but he didn't say anything.

They were heading to the prison where the government imprisoned the werewolves. The antidote injection would be done in the prison. Orka Research Center was the one in charge, and they invited the four of them to watch the injection process. But, only the three of them would come since Blue was still at her school.

The red car stopped in front of one of the old buildings. The representative of Orka had sent them the coordinate of the location, and the old building was the location based on the coordinates. The three men got out of the car and looked up at the old building in mixed feelings.

"What kind of place is it?" Jack couldn't stand his curiosity, so he asked.

"This place is the area of the legendary dungeon in this country," Kevin explained. "When this country still used the feudal system and didn't have any formal law, the King punished people as much as he wanted. If he didn't like some people, then he just put the people in the dungeon and left them there until they died. The King hated so many people that he had to build a big dungeon in this area."

Kris and Jack were stunned after Kevin finished telling him the story.

Calenta was not a peaceful country in the past. The feodal system caused so many internal conflicts in the country. Moreover, the King was selfish and cruel and often acted like an animal. That dark period of Calenta had happened more than a hundred years ago.

"This place is interesting. Let's go in," Kris said as he started walking toward the building. He didn't forget to grab Kevin's hand and walked together with his lover to the building.

Jack could only roll his eyes at the sight. He didn't protest and just followed the couple from behind.

"Oh! You guys finally arrived!" Someone suddenly exclaimed enthusiastically.

The three men found a middle-aged man walking in a hurry toward them. It seemed like he had been waiting for them for a while.

"Sorry for making you wait, Mr. Conor," Kevin sincerely apologized to his boss.

Yeah, the man who just welcomed them was the head of Orka Research Center, Callum Conor.

The man smiled widely while shaking his head. "It's no need to apologize. You guys are our honorable guests," he said in a friendly tone, but then he caught sight of Kevin's injured hand. "What happened to your hand, Kevin? Are you not feeling well? You shouldn't have forced yourself to come if you are not well."

Kevin glanced at his hand and looked up at the older man again. "I'm okay, Mr. Conor," he replied. "I'm honored that you invited us to come. This moment is one of the most important moments in my life."

Callum just shook his head as his hand patted Kevin's shoulder lightly. "A young man like you surely have a high spirit," he praised the young man. For a moment he glanced at Kris and Jack, and he frowned. "Where is the pretty girl with the blue eyes?" He asked when he realized that Blue was not there with them.

"Blue was still at the school, so we didn't bring her with us," Kris answered.

The middle-aged man seemed to be disappointed for a moment, but then he smiled again. "It's not a big deal," he said. "Then, let's go to the dungeon so we can start the first injection."

The head of Orka led them to enter the building, and they kept walking until they stopped in front of an iron door on the old wall. There was an iris scanner on the side of the door, and Callum's iris was successfully scanned by the scanner.. The iron door opened automatically after the process, and the sound of loud howls welcomed their sense of hearings.
