The Blue Eyes

Chapter 205 - DOUBLE GUILTY

Kris should have expected it. The robbers dared to attack his well-trained guards and even managed to kill them all, so they were no ordinary robbers that only plan to rob the valuables in the apartment.

The apartment building had a tight security system, but they managed to break them and could even break the door locking system. They managed to enter the house after killing the guards, and they immediately took AZURE away.

Was AZURE their sole target? Kris brought his eyes to his surroundings, and it seemed that nothing was missing aside from the little robot.

"You are right, Sir. The little robot is the only missing thing," Steve seemed to be able to read Kris's mind as he immediately confirmed his suspicion.

Kris's heart pounded loudly again. The robbers only targeted AZURE, so they knew about AZURE's secret, right? But how come? Aside from him and Kevin, only Blue and Jack knew about AZURE.

Wait, Jack also knew about AZURE, right? Kris's body grew tenser as a bad scenario played in his head.

"Are you all right, Sir?" Steve asked him because he was silent for a long time. "I don't know anything about the robot, but is it so expensive that you look really worried that it's gone now?"

Steve's question sounded so innocent and clueless, but he couldn't blame the guard because he didn't let Steve know about the robot before. When he and Kevin brought AZURE back to the apartment some time ago, he indeed met Steve in front of the door, but he just told the guard that the white robot was Kevin's new robot.

Steve didn't know the secret behind the existence of AZURE. Little did he know that AZURE was like Selena Beischel's replacement for them. Steve could only relate the case to money because he knew nothing.

Kris didn't feel like answering the question, and he ended up ignoring the question as he walked over to the couch. He threw his body on the couch and stared at the ceiling gloomily. He not only lost his brothers, but he also lost the precious robot.

'What should I do now, Professor?'

Kris was feeling a pang of double guilt in his heart. The first guilt was related to his inability in saving his brothers' life, while he knew that those brothers were so precious for Selena. And the second guilt, of course, was related to AZURE. He couldn't even protect the robot, and he felt beyond guilty because of that.

Selena was probably feeling disappointed in him right now.

Kris's mind was so chaotic, and he winced a little when he felt a vibration from his pants pocket. He immediately fished out his phone and looked down at the screen. His eyes bulged when he read the caller ID on the screen. It was Kevin.

Motioning Steve to leave him alone, Kris then answered the call. Steve just bowed at him a little before walking toward the door and leaving the room quickly.

"Yes, my baby?"

"Don't baby baby me! Where are you now? You dared to leave me when I was asleep again? Right after we made love? What am I in your eyes, Kris?"

Kris massaged his aching temple when he heard Kevin's sharp questions. That didn't sound harsh, but it sounded painful actually. Kris knew that his lover was just disappointed in him because he once again left his lover when he was asleep.

"There's a problem, Kev. I didn't mean to leave you when you were asleep. I just didn't want to disturb your rest," he tried to explain the situation carefully, using a very soft tone as he hoped his lover would relent.

He got no response from his lover for a few seconds, but then he heard another question from his lover, "What happened, Kris? Don't you dare to lie to me again, or I will hate you forever and won't ever forgive you!"

Kris had lied a lot to him in the past, and it seemed that Kevin was traumatized by the lies. Perhaps he got a feeling that the tan-skinned man would lie to him again, so he immediately warned the man before the man could even say anything.

"I don't have any plan to lie to you, Kev," Kris answered honestly.

"Then, you can tell me what happened, right? You sounded so bad, Kris. I'm sure that the problem is far from small."

Kris sighed before leaning his back again the back of the couch. The problem was indeed far so small because it was a huge problem. Nevertheless, Kris felt his heart getting warmer because his lover could understand him well.

"I can't tell you about it on the phone, Kev. Just wait for me in your room, and I will head to your foster parents' house now. You get it?"

"You sounded really bad, Kris. You can tell me where you are, and I will go to meet you instead. It will be very dangerous to drive in such a turbulent mind."

Kevin was still stubborn, and Kris sighed heavily again. "I'm alright, Kevin," he whispered weakly. "I still have to meet your parents, right? I can't just leave them without bidding them goodbye. I'll go back to your parents' house now."

Kris had good reasoning because he indeed couldn't just leave the house without saying goodbye. He just won Kevin's parents' heart, and if he did something like that, it would probably cause them to give him a negative point again. He didn't want something like that to happen.

Kevin was silent for a moment, but then he sighed before replying, "I will wait for you here, but promise me that you will drive carefully and will arrive at my parents' house safely."

Kris knew so well that his lover was worried about him, and his heart warmed because of the huge amount of love he felt in his heart.

"I promise you that I'll get there safely, my dear. Just wait for me there, okay?"
