The Blue Eyes

Chapter 228 - KEVIN'S SHOWTIME

"What are you doing here?" Kris immediately threw a question to the two men upon regaining his composure.

His emotion was unstable after seeing how Kevin laughed with the green-eyed man, but he tried to stay calm as he questioned the two men.

Meanwhile, Kevin and Luke glanced at each other after Kris finished asking them a question. Luke looked clueless, while Kevin looked mischievous.

"What are you doing here, Kris?" The black-haired scientist asked his lover back instead of answering.

The shameless question seemed to offend Kris as he immediately replied coldly, "I'm the one who asked you first, so you should answer my question first, Kevin Beischel."

Kris once again called Kevin by his full name, and it seemed that he was beyond angry right now. If he didn't have good self-restraining, he probably would snap at the two men loudly.

"Luke said that he wanted to talk to you, Kris," Kevin countered his lover's attack while glancing at the clueless Luke, nonverbally warning the man not to go against his will.

Luke, as the clueless but understanding guy, suddenly stepped forward and said, "I want to talk to you in private, Kris. Do you have time?"

Kris furrowed his brows while looking at Luke in disgust. "The party will start soon. If you want to talk with me, then you'd better wait until the party is over."

Kris disliked Luke from the start, and he didn't have the slight hope to have a chat with the grey-haired man. He was blinded by his jealousy, and even though Kevin had assured him that he had no feelings for Luke, he still felt uncomfortable around the green-eyed man.

"I will be the emcee at the party, and I won't start the party before you two finish talking to each other," Kevin decided to intervene. "Now I will leave you two alone. Call me if you need anything."

Kevin was often acting as he wished and ignoring other people's words, and he also did the same this time. Opted to ignore Kris's uncomfortable face, he immediately left the living room and closed the front door of the orphanage building.

Kevin was no longer in sight, and Kris was only with Luke in the room. He looked more uncomfortable staying alone in a room with someone he loathed.

"I can't understand you, Mr. Allaband."

"Just Kris is fine."

Kris could be uncomfortable around Luke, but he knew that he would feel more uncomfortable if the man kept calling him so formally like that. That was why he decided to let Luke call him by his first name.

"I'm not the type who will be familiar with others quickly, but I appreciate your kindness for letting me call you by your first name, Kris."

Kevin had told him that Luke was the ice prince under Orka. Even if he didn't like it when his lover called another man a prince, but he just let him be because the nickname 'ice prince' didn't seem good.

An ice prince was supposed to be so cold and was so stingy with his words, right? But why did Luke look like a chatterbox now? Kris could sense that Luke was just a con artist.

"Kevin loves you so deeply, and he even rejected my feelings for him, but you can't fully trust him? I feel bad for your boyfriend."

Luke was indeed bold with his words, and he successfully offended the tanned man. "Kevin is my boyfriend, so why do you feel bad for him?"

It felt like Kris was treating his lover badly and other people had to feel bad for his lover. Perhaps he wasn't the best lover in the world, but he had been treating Kevin as his most precious thing in the world.

Kris was angry, but Luke just stared at him nonchalantly. "Stop glaring at me. If you feel insecure when I was with Kevin, then it means you are not confident with your ability to make Kevin happy. Do you think Kevin deserves someone like you?"

Instead of feeling offended by Luke's next attack, Kris immediately reflected. Julia once asked him about his ability to make Kevin happy, and he undoubtfully answered that he would make Kevin happy even if he had to sacrifice his life.

Now that Luke just found out his weakness, it felt like Luke was right. If he couldn't control his jealousy, then it probably would only make Kevin feel uncomfortable.

"That's my business," Kris secretly agreed with Luke's opinion, but he still maintained his cold facade in front of his rival. "Now tell me what were you talking with Kevin earlier."

Perhaps it was best if Kris went straight to the point. Kevin was laughing with Luke earlier, but why? Why did his lover look so happy when he was with the grey-haired man?

"That's not your business," Luke replied arrogantly.

The arrogant reply made Kris frown, and he was about to retort when his ears suddenly caught a familiar voice.

"I'm sorry for making you wait." That was Kevin's voice. "Now I'm here, and we can start our party!"

Kris's frown went deeper when he heard Kevin speaking through the microphone. The main character of the party tonight was still in the building of the orphanage, so how could Kevin start the party like that?

"Kevin is indeed planning something. How could he start the party without me?" Kris couldn't stop himself from wondering.

Beside him, Luke tried to hold his laughter before throwing his arm around Kris's shoulders. Kris was startled by the action and was trying to free himself from the side hug, but Luke was too stubborn to let him go.

"Let's join your party, boy. You won't let your boyfriend have fun alone, will you?"

Luke suddenly acted too friendly toward him, and Kris felt uncomfortable even more.

"You know what Kevin was planning, right? Tell me what his plan is!"

Luke smirked as he continued dragging the tanned man toward the yard.. "Just follow me," he replied. "It's Kevin's showtime!"
