The Blue Eyes

Chapter 238 - I SUSPECT STEVE

Before the party started, Luke told him that he had not found new information related to the mysterious email account that had contact with Felix Smith. He believed in what his colleague said before, but just now the colleague suddenly said that he had managed to hack that mysterious account.

Kevin felt like exploding because Luke had lied to him, but he had to reflect because he indeed didn't fully trust Luke before. However, after they arrived at this point, he knew that it wasn't the time to doubt each other.

"Do you want me to prove that I trust you, Luke?" Kevin questioned the green-eyed man. "I know that you are seriously investigating your uncle, and I also know that you are willing to tell me all you know about your uncle. I know your reputation as someone who dislikes werewolves the most because your dear grandmother died in the hands of a werewolf, so I'm sure that you're not related with the mastermind."

Kevin could see that the grey-haired man clenched his fist, but he ignored it as he shifted his gaze to Julia. "Same logic goes to Julia," he continued his speech. "Andre died in the hands of a werewolf as well, and I'm sure that Julia is not related with the mastermind of the werewolf war."

Kevin still remembered that Julia was so shaken by the news of Andre's death, and he also still remembered how she wanted to kill Jack to avenge his husband. The hatred towards werewolves was not fake, and Kevin knew Julia so well that he didn't have any suspicion of the pregnant lady since the beginning.

"And about Casper," Kevin continued again as he turned to the young soldier. "I honestly still can't fully trust you, Casper. Can you prove yourself that you're innocent?"

All attention was on the young soldier, and the soldier squirmed uncomfortably in his seat upon hearing Kevin's question. The mature Casper just now vanished into thin air, and the soldier was in his timid self once again.

"How should I prove myself?" The soldier muttered to himself while frowning.

"You don't need to prove yourself, Cas."

Another voice suddenly broke the silence, and it was Jack's. He immediately became the center of attention after uttering the one-sentence statement.

"If they can't believe in you, then it's alright. We just need to leave them, and I'll help you to find your missing comrades," the tattoed man continued in his stern tone.

Jack had not even come back to his playful side, and he looked so grim when he uttered the statement.

Kris was fuming when he saw Jack's arrogant attitude. He was about to say something, but Kevin halt his movement by shaking his head.

"I trust you, Jack," the raven-haired scientist stated as he looked back at the blonde. "There was an attack in our apartment, and our precious little thing went missing because of the attack. You and Blue are the ones who know about that precious little thing, and Kris ended up suspecting you. However, I disagree with him because I'm suspecting someone else."

Jack looked surprised upon hearing Kevin's statement. "The precious little thing that only known by us? Is it the little robot?" He questioned the scientist curiously.

Kevin nodded in confirmation. "Someone stole AZURE and even managed to kill Kris's bodyguards, and that's why we decided to be careful. Kris did suspect you, Jack. But the real reason why we didn't tell you and Blue about the matter was that we didn't want the two of you to get involved in it. It's dangerous, and we don't want to see more victims."

Jack and Blue looked stunned. It seemed that Kevin's clarification was enough to lessen Jack's anger. Kevin assured him that he just didn't want him to get involved because it was dangerous, and he was quite touched by the man's statement.

"Wait," Julia, who had been silent for quite a long time, suddenly chimed in. "What robot are you talking about? Why didn't you tell me about it before, Kev?"

Kevin had expected Julia's question. The existence of AZURE was supposed to be a secret, but now that everything had turned like this, he couldn't help but tell the pregnant lady about AZURE.

He explained that AZURE was a robot created by his mother. AZURE was the one that helped him with the antidote extraction, and he generally explained that AZURE had a lot of information that could help him with his career in the future. He didn't tell them that AZURE had his mother's memory because he didn't think it was necessary.

"So, the robot can be a mentor that can guide you, Kev? That means, the robot is even more genius than you, right?" Julia asked the question after Kevin finished his explanation.

"We can say it that way, Jule," Kevin confirmed calmly. "That's why someone wants to steal my robot because it's too precious."

Julia nodded in understanding, but Jack was still frowning.

"I don't even know what can that robot do except for being your assistant, so why should I leak the information to someone and ask that person to steal AZURE?" The blonde man spoke again, and Kevin realized that the reasoning made sense.

Both Jack and Blue didn't know how precious AZURE was, so perhaps Jack wouldn't have an idea to steal the robot. Kevin just noticed about that.

"You said that you're suspecting someone else for the incident in our apartment, right, Kev?" Kris, who had been quiet, suddenly voiced his question. "Can you tell me who that someone is? And why didn't you tell me about it before?"

Kevin was indeed hiding his suspicion in his heart because he had some considerations in his mind. But now that he had leaked what was on his mind in front of the people in the living room, he knew that he didn't have any option other than to unveil what was in his heart now.

"I suspect Steve, Kris."
