Julia's body lost its strength, and she fell on top of the couch helplessly. "I didn't expect that you wouldn't believe in me, Kevin," she whispered bitterly while staring at the floor blankly.

Kevin sighed before motioning to Blue to move from her position beside Julia. Blue could understand the nonverbal gesture, and she immediately moved to sit next to Kris.

The spot beside Julia was vacant again, and Kevin immediately positioned himself next to Andre's wife.

Andre. Kevin would never forget Andre, and he always saw Julia as his responsibility after the man died. Julia was not a burden for him, but he still felt responsible for the pregnant lady.

Now when Julia displayed such a hurtful expression on her face, it pinched Kevin's heart painfully.

"I believe in you Jule, but I can't believe in Mrs. Hasler."

"Is it because of her sudden appearance tonight, Kev?"

"It's not only because of that reason, Jule. I know the truth about Mrs. Hasler, and I can't help but think that she's seeking revenge!"

Kevin was arguing with Julia, and the other people in the room could only remain silent. It was because of Luke that Julia became so emotional, and the green-eyed man chose to remain quiet as he observed the two people arguing.

"What do you mean she's seeking revenge?" Julia questioned the young scientist again after she heard a surprising statement coming out of Kevin's lips.

Perhaps Kevin had to reveal another fact tonight.

"Mrs. Hasler is my mother's adoptive child, but she has a thought that my mother wanted to 'dump' her after the 2021 war, so it makes sense that she wants to seek revenge, right?"

Blue, Jack, Casper, and Luke gasped in surprise upon hearing Kevin's short explanation. Kevin didn't intend to give a piece of detailed information, so he deliberately resumed the full story and just revealed the story to the extent.

He felt that he didn't have to tell the detailed drama, so he purposely skipped the drama.

"That medusa lady is your step-sister, Kevin?" Jack suddenly chimed in. "But how come you didn't tell us about it before? Were you trying to hide that fact from us?"

Perhaps Jack had the idea that Kevin didn't believe in him again and decided to hide the truth from him, and Kevin could only sigh heavily.

"It's not like that, Jack," the scientist immediately clarified. "I also just found out about it from my foster parents, so I didn't deliberately hide the fact from you."

Kevin was saying the truth, and Jack seemed to believe in his words as he nodded his head. The scientist heaved a sigh of relief because he didn't need to hear Jack's dramatic words anymore.

"You think Mrs. Hasler has a motive because of that?" Julia's voice was heard again, making the people turn their heads to the pregnant lady again. "I think I don't have to stay in this ally because we have different principles. I will leave you all and pretend that our cooperation has never happened."

Julia suddenly got up, startling all the living creatures in the living room.

Kevin immediately got up and was trying to coax his friend to sit down again, but Julia raised her hand to stop him.

"I won't change my mind, Kevin. I will leave you all."

And Julia did as she said. Without hesitation, she started walking toward the door and immediately opened it with her slim hand. She stepped out of the building and slammed the door harshly.

All people in the room knew that Julia was disappointed.

"I can understand that you suspect Mrs. Hasler, Kevin," Kris's voice broke the tense, and the owner of the name turned his head to the tanned man. "But I also understand Julia's feeling. Julia trusts Mrs. Hasler a lot, just like me who trusts Steve a lot. Can you understand my feeling?"

Kevin was still standing at his spot, and he stared blankly at his fiance, who was sitting on the couch. "Are you disappointed in me, Kris?"

Kevin suddenly sounded gloomy, and Kris sighed upon hearing the sad tone. He immediately got up from his seat and walked over to his fiance. He didn't care that they weren't alone in the room as he tenderly hugged his fiance.

"I'm not disappointed in you, but I just can't believe your assumption, Kevin," Kris whispered to his fiance's ear as he rubbed Kevin's back with his strong hand. "But if you want to prove that Steve indeed sides with the criminals, then we can rely on your colleague to get us the footage," he added as he glanced at Luke.

Luke was also staring at him, but his gaze looked so cold and piercing. Who wouldn't display that kind of look when their crush was hugging someone that was not them?

"You don't need to worry. Tomorrow we can meet again to see the footage."

Luke sounded so confident, and Kevin finally freed himself from his fiance's hug. "Thank you, Luke," he spoke to the grey-haired man in a sincere tone. "But I think I will need your help for something else, Luke."

Luke could hear Kevin's request, and he frowned at the raven-haired scientist. "What can I do to help you again? I will try my best to help you."

Kevin smiled at the man. He had rejected Luke's feelings for him, but the man was still willing to help him.

"Can you help me to prove the relation between Jaden Dunn and Grace Hasler? Julia was angry at me because I keep accusing her boss, so I need proof that Grace is indeed the mastermind of all this."

Luke widened his eyes upon hearing his colleague's request.. "Are you crazy, Kevin?" He questioned his colleague darkly. "I've risked my life to hack Jaden Dunn's private account, but you still want me to find the relation between him and the number one person in the Intelligence Agency? Do you want to sacrifice me?"
