The Blue Eyes

Chapter 250 - THE BOSS

Three people gathered in the living room of the orphanage with Luke showing what he got from Steve's email account. It felt like deja vu when the grey-haired man showed the transparent screen to the two men, but this time, the screen displayed the mails logs to and from Steve's account.

"You can see it yourself how Steve received the order to steal your robot, right?" Luke asked as he side-glanced Kevin, who was sitting next to him.

The raven-haired scientist didn't immediately respond as he kept looking at the transparent screen in front of him. The series of letters showed how Steve secretly communicated with someone, and that someone was...

"It's Jaden Dunn again?" Kevin finally found his voice and questioned the green-eyed man.

His blue eyes could read Jaden Dunn's name on the emails, as well as their conversation about the plan to steal AZURE from them. The emails were just short emails without any details, but it was enough to prove that Steve was indeed guilty of the crime.

"And you are right if you are worried about your boyfriend right now, Kevin," Luke spoke again. "This is the last email from Jaden Dunn, and he instructed Steve to kidnap your boyfriend," he added while pointing at the last email on the screen.

Kevin's body turned weaker upon hearing Luke's statement, as well as seeing the email from Jaden Dunn.

['Our boss asked you to kidnap Kris and bring him to our base. Do you think you will be able to do the task properly, Steve?']

Steve didn't only kidnap AZURE and kill Kris's other guard, but he also kidnapped Kris!

A theory started manifesting in Kevin's head. 'Maybe Kris met Steve yesterday, and that man dared to kidnap Kris. I can't believe Kris would be kidnapped this easily.'

That thought frustrated him, but then he got another thought. 'Kris is not weak, but in terms of combat without supernatural powers, perhaps Steve got the upper hands because that man was professionally trained for years.'

Kevin couldn't even feel the energy within his body as he immediately dropped his body on the back of the couch.

"Steve is indeed the one behind all the crime, but did you guys notice the obvious word in Jaden's mail?" Jack suddenly chimed in. "Jaden mentioned a 'boss' in his mail, so he's not the real boss in the crime. There's someone else above him."

What Jack just said made sense, and both Kevin and Luke remained quiet as they stared at the mails logs on the screen. Jaden Dunn indeed mentioned the word 'boss,' so it was indeed someone stronger than Jaden behind the crime.

"Jaden is from the Intelligence Agency, right?" Luke suddenly responded. "Do you think Grace Hasler is indeed the person behind it? Grace is her boss in the agency, so it's natural if he referred to that woman as his boss in the email."

The mention of Grace Hasler worsened Kevin's expression. The topic about Grace Hasler was the one that caused Julia to turn her back on him, and Grace was also the one who bothered his heart so much.

"We still don't have any proof that can prove Grace Hasler's involvement," Kevin finally managed to reply.

A mysterious figure behind Steve Fint and Jaden Dunn kidnapped his fiance, and he couldn't think straight right now. Jaden was an important person in the country, but he still had a boss above him. He couldn't imagine how strong the person was, and he didn't know how to fight that person.

"I will try to find more proof, but I think we shouldn't ignore another important thing from the email. It's related to the 'base.' Jaden said that they have a base, and we should try to find that base. Our priority is Kris's safety, right?" Luke broke the silence again.

He was right. Jaden mentioned a 'base' as well, but he didn't say any details about the said base.

"Yes," Kevin responded to Luke's statement. "Kris is our top priority, and we should try to find their secret base."

Both Jack and Luke nodded their heads, but then they found Kevin's phone, which was on the coffee table, suddenly vibrated. The owner of the sophisticated object immediately reached out his hand to grab the object.

His heart pounded loudly when he read Julia's name on the screen. Julia was upset with him, and she had not contacted him ever since she turned her back on him. Now that the pregnant lady suddenly contacted him again, he couldn't help but feel confused.

"Who is calling you?" Jack asked the young scientist when he saw Kevin suddenly freeze on his spot.

"It's Julia," Kevin answered in a whisper without looking up from his phone screen.

Jack and Luke glanced at each other upon hearing the answer.

"I think you can answer the call, but you shouldn't tell her about your boyfriend," Luke voiced out his thought, and Kevin looked up at him confusedly.

At that time, his phone had stopped vibrating.

"I shouldn't tell her about Kris because her boss might have something to do with this case?" Kevin asked the grey-haired man as his hand gripped his phone tightly.

"Yes," Luke answered. "We can trust Julia because she is Grace's trusted subordinate. I think you should call her back, but don't tell her anything about Kris's incident."

Kevin contemplated Luke's idea, but then he nodded his head before dialing Julia's number again. The phone was pressed in his ear, and thankfully, Julia immediately answered the call.

"Are you busy, Kevin?"

He didn't even have time to greet the lady because the lady hurriedly threw a question at him.

Kevin glanced at Jack and Luke, and the two men nodded at him. "I'm free now, Jule. Do you need something from me?" He replied to the lady's question.

He could hear Julia sigh before asking, "Can you meet me in my house today, Kev? I have something to talk to you."
