The Blue Eyes

Chapter 75 - THE TSUNDERE GIRL

The three people in the living room were a little shocked by Blue's unexpected words. Kevin and Selena showed the expression of disagreement while Kris's expression looked bitter.

"Blue, it's not good to say that to a person who was very worried about you all the time," Kevin was the first one to reprimand the young girl, who was now looking up at him.

Blue's eyes widened for a bit as she drew her gaze to Kris for a moment. Just for a moment because she quickly looked at Kevin again. "Was he really worried about me?" The girl asked in a low voice.

But, of course, the three people in the room still caught what she was saying.

"Will you believe me if I say that he was more worried than me when you were missing?" Kevin asked the girl, but his eyes sneakily peeked at his lover.

Kris glared at him, but he just shrugged and focused on Blue once again.

The girl glanced at Kris again, but she still didn't say anything to the handsome man. She was just staring straight at the man's eyes as if she tried to communicate with the man through the gaze connection.

That was odd, but Kris seemed to understand the gaze as he smiled knowingly.

"No need to prolong the matter. I'm glad that Blue has come back with us," Kris spoke softly while his gaze never leaving the teenager.

Blue seemed a bit startled as she shifted her gaze away from the older man. She cleared her throat then left Kevin to sit on a single sofa in the living room.

Kevin and Selena looked puzzled when they saw Kris's bizarre expression, but they didn't say anything.

The other three then followed Blue's lead. They sat on the sofa, except for Selena who sat in her wheelchair. Blue sitting on the single sofa, meanwhile, Kevin and Kris sitting on the long sofa side by side.

"Everyone is gathered, so we can start our discussion." The elderly lady opened the conversation in her soft voice. "Blue, before I explain everything to you, can you tell us about what things you experienced while you were with the werewolves?"

Blue was actually a little surprised at the question of the lady she had known as the head of the orphanage. From the tone of her voice, the lady seemed to know a lot about what was going on, and it made Blue think that it seemed that she was no ordinary lady.

But, Blue brushed off the thought and began to explain, "They took me to a deserted island very far from here. It was on the west sea. At first, they asked me to join them and gave me a week to think about it. A week later, I told them that I didn't want to join them, and they started tying me with chains and treating me like a prisoner afterward. Then, it all ended last night when they hoped that I would turn into a white wolf with blue eyes, but it didn't happen."

Blue's long story made the other three people in the place make no sound at all.

Kevin and Kris had been searching Blue in the northern sea area, not the western sea. That was why they had never found Blue before. It was a piece of new information for both Kevin and Kris that werewolves had another secret base in the western sea area.

"Then, do you feel hurt anywhere now, Blue?" Kevin finally asked because he was worried about his sister's condition.

Ever since he saw Blue again after a quite long separation, he noticed that Blue looked thinner and paler. The girl must have experienced great torture that caused the drastic change. Kevin felt a squeeze in his heart when he imagined how the werewolves treated his beloved sister.

"I'm fine now, Brother," Blue replied with a small smile on her pretty face. "The chains did hurt me, but Jack treated the wounds every day. There are still bruises remaining, but it's not that bad."

There was anger in Kevin's eyes after he heard Blue's innocent statement. "They dared to chain you up just because you rejected them," he said while gritting his teeth. "Then, how can you say that it's not that bad? You look bad, Blue. You don't need to hide the fact that the werewolves had tortured you!"

Kevin's expression looked tight, and Kris seemed to notice that. He then grabbed the scientist's shoulder and rubbed it gently. He didn't say anything, but the touch was enough to soothe Kevin.

Blue didn't say anything again and could only duck her head. Kevin realized that he was too harsh on the girl. He sighed and tried to calm himself down. He didn't want to give more stress to the girl.

Selena seemed to notice the tension, and she decided to butt in, "Don't worry. I will call my private doctor to check on Blue's condition later." She then turned to Blue again. "Then, Blue, the werewolves really asked you to join them?"

Blue lifted her head again and nodded curtly. "They said that I'm the child in the prophecy and I could give them unrivaled power and immortality. That's why they were after me," she answered.

The answer made Kevin's jaw tightened. "They just want to use you," he commented darkly while clenching his fist.

The other three turned to Kevin, but they didn't say anything.

Kevin's mentality was still unstable. He had experienced a lot of unexpected things in his life. Both Kris and Selena seemed to understand the scientist's condition, but Blue looked confused when she saw Kevin's reaction.

"Yeah, the werewolves want to take advantage of Blue," Selena spoke again. "But, who else was on the island besides you and Jack, Blue?" She asked as she focused on the blue-eyed girl again.

Blue earnestly went back to explain, "There was a werewolf leader named Mike Allaband, as well as a whole clan of werewolves." The girl briefly peeped at Kris. "Then, there were also two people who might surprise all of you."

Those words made the other three people mentally prepared themselves for the worst.

"There were Professor Joseph Beischel and his bodyguard, who had a birthmark on the temple. Isn't that surprising? It turns out that the Professor is still alive!"

Blue expected that the three people in front of her would be surprised, but she was now confused because the three people didn't show any expressions of shock.

"You guys already know about that?" The girl asked innocently. She turned to Kevin, and with a little hesitation, she asked, "Brother Kevin, you already know that—"

"He is a stranger. He is not important to me."

Kevin quickly crashed Blue's question. Even though Blue didn't get the chance to finish her words, he could guess what the girl was going to ask.

Blue could only look at Kevin gloomily. She now realized that Kevin already knew everything. And, judging by his expression, the young man must have felt angry and disappointed.

"Then, what about your power, Blue? How did you control the teleportation power in your body?" Selena again asked to break the jittery atmosphere.

Blue went back to focus on the lady, who she recognized as the head of the orphanage.

"After they found out that I wasn't the person they were looking for, they wanted to kill me. I felt very scared and depressed, and I kept thinking about my wish to return to this orphanage. I don't know what happened, but I was transported to this place in a very short time last night. Is that my teleportation power?"

Selena nodded in response to Blue's question. "Yes, that's your teleportation power," she answered. "I believed that you would come back. I also asked Kris to believe in you, but he was too worried about you that he snapped at me some time ago." She glanced at Kris with a playful gaze.

Kris squirmed in his seat before he responded, "You didn't tell me about her power. You just told me to believe in her without giving any explanation. How could I stay calm when I knew nothing about the power?"

Kris sounded genuinely annoyed, and Kevin could feel it. He knew that Selena didn't tell Kris about everything. Sometimes, Kris was just a clueless minion. It made Kevin gawk at the lady with hostility.

"What's wrong, Kevin?" Selena seemed to notice the gaze, so she asked the scientist as she frowned.

Kevin didn't respond. He just drew his gaze away from the lady. The table in front of him was more interesting than the lady, who had been given birth to him twenty-seven years ago.

The tension between the two people was apparent, and that made Blue frown in confusion. It seemed that she could sense that something was not right with the two people she loved the most.

"Anyway, I also heard they were talking about something else last night," Blue spoke again as she tried to break the tightness. "And, one of the things they talked about was Professor Selena Beischel. Is it true that she is also still alive?"
