'If I stop fighting and focus on recovering spiritual energy I can regain about 0.2% every minute but that is not really an option when I'm fighting alon- how could I forget!?'

Just now remembering about his severs Hao Xuan waved his hand to summon the Scorpion King along with a few others but to his dismay, nothing happened.

*ROOOOOAR*

The Synapse roared from the pain and attacked his position with everything it had, forcing Hao Xuan to use "Blink" twice more to dodge.

'Damnit, why isn't it working?'

Finding an extremely brief moment within the attacks he quickly entered his mind palace only to find it studded in a thick coating of Chaos energy.

The nine gates that were always rotating around the central palace were now frozen in place. There were thick streams of purulent chaos energy constantly being discharged from the inside, covering the entire central palace in a sheet of the same viscous energy.

All the severs were covered in it along with every inch of the place. It looked like they were sleeping but Hao Xuan knew it was not that simple.

The only area not affected by it was where the three doors were in the far back.

[WAKE UP!]

Hao Xuan even used the power of the 'Soul Severing heavenly Constitution' but it had no effect on them. They were completely cut off from and in his own mind palace to boot.

*BANG*

One of the scythes slammed into him while pulling back bringing him back to reality. There was a 4-inch wide gash on his chest which spewed blood all over but otherwise did little to hinder his movements.

'Damnit, I can't draw this out for very long. Looks like I have to go all out.'

Left with no other choice Hao Xuan called in effect the full territory of the Chaos Law. With a somewhat mechanical whirring sound it expanded in a circle around him covering more than 300 meters. Its range had been greatly increased since his fight with Stasa.

"Hng!"

Gathering every iota of physical strength at his disposal Hao Xuan flexed lightly. The sudden expansion of muscles created a gust of wind around him and even the wound on his chest was mostly closed off because of them.

Unlike the earlier times, his body wasn't swollen like a balloon and maintained the original form just a little bit more well-defined. But he could feel a frightening amount of power circulating throughout his body.

There was no real way to explain it because it simply manifested as an assurance in his ability to punch through whatever stood in his way.

Wisps of translucent aura surrounded his body like a liquid flame. Seeing him 'powring up' the Synapse did not wait a moment longer and once again unleashed a barrage of attacks in his position.

'Blink!'

He used it again and appeared at the very edge of his territory a little over 300 meters. His lips cracked into a smile upon realizing that not only was the range of the Chaos Steps increased but as long as he remained within the territory of the Chaos Law the consumption of Qi was less than halved!

Each time he blinked it would normally consume 1.2% of his total energy reserves but now that was barely 0.5%. And not only that but he was also recovering 0.4% energy at about the same rate just by focus breathing.

'With this it's possible. I can finally let loose!'

The Synapse picked up on his position and tried to attack but it was too slow.

"Blink!" x2

Hao Xuan's body warped in and out of space as he appeared 40 meters above the black pool right in front of its main body.

He pulled back and with everything he could muster punched forward with the most basic technique of the 64 Palms.

'First Palm: Breach'

The Synapse was far too big to simply duck or move out of the way and he didn't give enough time for it to react.

The very air twisted around the arm as it made contact with its main body.

*RUUUUMBLE*

Thunder rumbled in the sky above as Hao Xuan blinked and reappeared back on the ground 300 meters away. Again he looked towards the Synapse that was frozen stiff. There was no explosion from the impact but a 3-meter-wide hole had been poked in its body.

Hao Xuan could see the other side of the pit from his position. He had punched through more than 15 meters of reinforced bone and muscles without making a sound. The flesh around the wound was still being twisted clockwise, in the same fashion he had struck.

Even though it didn't have a face Hao Xuan could tell how shocked it was, perhaps from how it slowly felt around the wound trying to wrap its mind around it.

It was like looking at a toddler that had fallen for the first time and was trying to decide if it hurts or not.

But then it turned towards Hao Xuan and the long vertical flap on its upper body wriggled open.
