Princess Ceni felt like she had answered this question hundreds of times already and hearing it again only irritated her more.

"Why is this so hard to believe? Why does everyone doubt me so? Is it because I'm a rich spoiled princess? Do I HAVE to be shallow and materialistic?"

Jin Wang sighed inwardly while shaking his head, "No of course not, it just doesn't make any sense. Everything you've said sounds like a generic excuse. I didn't push it further because we didn't have much time but I can't just ignore this anymore."

"Even the grand priestess has warned me to keep you two away from each other and between the two of you, I believe her more."

She didn't know what to say. He was right.

She had kept a very important little detail to herself, not even daring to mutter it out loud. In fact, she only realized the truth of the matter not too long ago.

Through gritted teeth Princess Ceni let out a heavy-hearted sigh.

"Back on the ship when I used to visit him...something...happened."

She turned away not being able to meet Jin Wang's gaze which only made his imagination run wild.

"No...don't tell me you did it while he was in a coma?!"

"What?! No of course not, what do you take me for?!" she flung back.

"Then....?"

"I...drank his blood. It was just a little bit, I just wanted to see what it tasted like."

Jin Wang's brow furrowed lightly, "Well...you ARE a vampire, it's not that out of ordinary for your kind. Not a big deal."

"It is...because he...was my first."

"...."

For a few seconds Jin Wang's mind couldn't compute all the information.

'Vampire...first blood...lycan....bond...'

And the color drained from his face when he connected the dots.

"No no no, please don't say that. You're kidding right?"

"No..."

Flabbergasted he fell lifelessly back onto the chairs, "How could this happen...how did I not see it coming...my god..."

But the 'nightmare' did not end there as Princess Ceni explained further.

"I didn't realize it at the time but that was just the beginning. I found myself getting more and more comfortable around him. Everything about him made me feel better about myself. He didn't feel like a stranger but someone I had known for a very long time."

"And then one day I...fell asleep next to him. That's when they started, the dreams. I would see things...well, him to be more exact. From when he was just a newborn all the way until he left earth, every day and every night I was there, watching over him."

"I saw him take his first steps, heard his first words. From his first friend to his first crush I saw it all. I was there when he found out that his parents didn't want him, and I watched as his family abandoned him that one night. I also remember what happened after that, something that even he forgot."

"And while I was watching this boy grow and mature I realized how much we had in common."

Her voice fell to a mere whisper for a moment, "And how alone we both were."

"I know how angry he gets and how bad he feels about it afterward. I know why he likes the rain and the cold and why the summers were his worst nightmare. I know EVERYTHING about him. For whatever reason our compatibility is so strong that it's unheard of. No other vampire has had such a strong bond before."

"I can feel his surging emotions from miles away and see what is in his heart. We are meant to be."

With his head clasped in his hands Jin Wang continued to listen in silence.

"And a few days ago when he lost control I saw a vision. Well...I say vision but it was more of a conception dream. In that vision we had a child together, a son. I have never felt anything that strong before. Even if I wanted to there was no way I could change that future."

"Not to mention that even in that final dreamscape we were together, happily married."

Hearing the conviction in her voice Jin Wang almost overlooked the little detail she had dropped.

"You were married to Hao Xuan?"

"Yes."

"Happily?"

"Of course, why wouldn't he be happy?" she misinterpreted his words not realizing the obvious flaw.

"Nothing, no reason."

'The only way to break out of the dreamscape is by realizing that it's not real. And if one is happy and content with life that will never happen."

"Ugh!"

Just then Ma Jiang rolled over the side and threw up a mouthful of dull red liquid, effectively putting an end to their conversation.

At first Jin Wang panicked thinking it was blood but after a quick inspection he realized it was concentrated Yang energy.

Ma Jiang was literally vomiting the positive spiritual energy that could be found in nature. And hers was so pure in fact that it threw the entire room in disarray.

Within seconds small red plants started to grow out of the liquid shining with a bright orange luster.

"Spiritual herbs! Spiritual herbs are growing out of it!" Princess Ceni exclaimed with wide eyes.
