Dai Zhi nodded in agreement before gesturing towards the door which opened by itself, "Very well. Take as many men as you need."

But a very young voice came from under the hood, "Unnecessary, I alone am enough,"

"If you think that's best. I will send you their last location, he was eastbound on foot from the looks of it," Dai Zhi waved his hand, and a stream of red Qi flew towards the robed man and disappeared within his body.

He turned around with a bow to take his leave without saying another word, leaving Micha and Ensis to speak with Dai Zhi in private. But just when he was about to exit the barrier Ensis spoke up with a reminder, "Do not bring shame to our master. Remember all that he has done for us."

The robed man paused momentarily but then continued on his way in silence.

When the door closed behind him Micha shook his head bitterly, "That was not right, it should have been one of us. This matter is- It is too delicate and far too important to let a traitor like him handle it. If he has done it once, he will do it again."

But Dai Zhi didn't seem to think it was such a big issue.

"It matters not, he alone cannot be a threat to us and no one else will take him in. If he wants to live then he has to join me. And if he does join our ranks then his strength will prove to be very useful in the future, but if not then it won't change much. I have not taken his power into account for any of the plans in the foreseeable future."

Seeing as the mood was still a little sour he decided to change the subject.

"But there are other things we must focus on now. Once Hao Xuan is captured and all the traitors are killed, I will open a portal to the greater world and we will arrive at the Church of the Sacred Light. I have already initiated both of you into the 'Order of the Sacred Light' but you will still need to pass the final tests by going against your peers from other areas of the greater worlds." (CH 819)

"Having experienced your true strength firsthand, I am confident that neither of you will have trouble getting in but that is not the case for the others. Since the entrance is limited and the competition is so high, I want you both to choose ten individuals each that you would want to take with you as your underlings."

"Once there, they will fight with one another until only one remains from each group and only that person will have a chance to apply for the Order of the Sacred Light."

Micha nodded along until he realized something was a miss, "Senior Brother, does that mean that only twenty out of the five hundred warriors will be leaving this world alongside us? What about the rest?"

Dai Zhi shook his head despondently, seemingly heartbroken by the very notion.

"There is no other way. The world we will be going to is heavily moderated by the various factions of the Church. They will not allow me to bring an army into the lands, no matter how weak they might be. I was only able to get permission for twenty other souls so the rest...well they will have to fend for themselves once it is all over."

"But that's not right! They have been fighting alongside us for so long and sacrificed so much for the cause...how can we just, leave them behind?"

But before Dai Zhi could answer Ensis stepped in trying to talk some sense into him.

"Then what would you suggest be done? Bringing the two of us along is already bad enough as a new member of the Order but he is also bringing twenty others with us. And we both know that as talented as they are, none of them will be able to compete with the countless powerful figures trying to join the Order but still Lord Dai Zhi is trying to save as many souls as possible, knowing full well it won't bring him any benefits."

Watching Ensis defend him with such an elegant take brought a lot of joy to Dai Zhi. But Micha was still adamant. He didn't say anything but everyone could read it on his face.

"Thank you, brother Ensis. Junior brother Micha, I know how you feel but this is the only way."

"I-I know, I'm sorry. You have done so much for us but I- I just wish we could save more of them."

He turned on his heels and quickly walked out with a lowered head.

*Sigh*

"The light is strong in him. He will go far within the order and the church," Dai Zhi mumbled to himself.
