The Latest Game Is Too Amazing

Chapter 59: The Conference of the Three

National leaders met together in a conference room in the royal palace of the Kingdom of Castal. In addition to the leaders of the Kingdom of Castal, the Weixel Empire and the Union of the Communes, the Pope of the Church also sits at the round table in the center of the conference room.

Heavy towns from all over the country are gathered in large conference rooms, but no one exchanges words at all. We just deserve each other. And while silence falls, attention is drawn to Wilfred, the king of Kastal.

"Then we will discuss the measures to be taken against demons. I want everyone to express their opinions without any objections."

Wilfred's declaration began the meeting.

"First, the damage caused by organized and controlled demons has been confirmed in various countries. In our country, Kastal, Elder Trent manipulated the oak, causing enormous damage to the army. In the Weixel Empire, Griffon and the unknown demons fell the Eisenstadt fortress, and in the Union of the Communes, vampires impersonated humans, seized the throne and vandalized all over the place."

We all listen to what Wilfred has to say. Everyone in this room shared a sense of crisis over the threat to the demons of yesterday.

"And this time (this time) the invasion of the giant golem in the Union of Communes. It is clear that demons are no longer deliberately attacking our human territory. It defeats the common sense of the demons we know. Until now we have been able to prevent the worst from happening in human hands, but demons whose repeated raids have ended in failure may reinforce the offensive more. In contrast, we formed an alliance to jointly fight demons across countries. In addition, the Church has confirmed to me that it will send the Knights everywhere."

The Pope meets lightly. Wilfred turned his attention to the leaders of the nations sitting at the round table.

"We have already experienced in the Union of the Communes to join forces in a demonic crusade. But it's temporary when things happen. If this goes on for a long time, we will also have deficiencies. We need to discuss this so that there are no deficiencies."

"Your Majesty Wilfred is right. Sometimes you have to decide on the structure and command of the military, but first you have to decide on your future policy."

Viktor, emperor of the Weixel Empire, agreed.

"Basically, we form and defend a new army against demonic raids. The army plans to supply and organize more soldiers than the three countries. But the question is how to prevent a vast territory."

"So there's too many places to protect."

Wilfred nodded at Roslene's words.

"Borders have nothing to do with demonic raids. They have no idea when or where to wake up. We had to turn back until we were invaded by the demons. When it comes to defending all the territories of the Three Kingdoms, no matter how many soldiers we gather, we must prevent them."

"Sire Wilfred, I have a disagreement about that"

Viktor pinches his mouth. Wilfred opened one eye and stared at Viktor.

"Well, does His Majesty Viktor have an abdominal proposal?"

"The demons that have attacked the Weixel Empire, the vampires and giant golems that have attacked the Comune Union, are attacking from the north. The exception is Elder Trent, who attacked the Kingdom of Castal, but has remarked that according to the Knights' report, Elder Trent himself had been sealed. Then it would be reasonable to assume that Elder Trent was originally sealed in that place and that the seal was unsealed by the demons who are currently attacking him."

Viktor looked around. There is no one to dispute it.

"Presumably there is a demonic stronghold in the north forest area, or more so. For this reason, it is necessary to invariably come through the forest to attack human territory. In other words, if we concentrate our forces in the northern parts of the country and lay our defensive lines, we will have to place our troops more extensively and shoulder less of a burden than defending all of our national territory."

"You mean build a new fort to the north?"

Viktor shook his head.

"Building a new fort takes time. We're going to use the fort, but it's not big enough to accommodate all the soldiers we send to the north."

"Then how do you think Your Majesty should deal with it?

"Army garrisons will be established in the north of the countries. Collect nationally owned dragons there, patrol the forested neighborhoods from above and block the surveillance holes. If the demon has any movement, report immediately to the garrison and deploy according to the size of the demon. Lure demons into human territory and intercept them. Then we can deal with it more quickly and extensively than we can put the army on standby near the capital. The point is to lower the line of defense to a position that we can easily defend and pull the enemy in. At the end of the day, I'd like to raise the line of defense and build at least as many defensive walls at the border. In any case, it is not immediately possible because of the wide range of places covered. That would be the long-term time on an annual basis. That should be the most feasible thing to do at the moment."

Roslyne hit the gavel. But Roslene realizes that there is. Wilfred, meanwhile, closed his eyes.

"We have to abandon the towns and villages near the forest and move the people south. Let the demons break in and the north will be a battlefield. There's a lot of popular backlash."

They will evict the land where they lived. Naturally there is a great rebellion among the people, and the lords who protect the land.

"It is dangerous to fight outside the country. The interests of the land are on the demonic side because we have to divide them into forest zones and fight them. Unless we investigate the northern forest areas, it is dangerous for the military to wage battle in the woods. With all due respect, isn't the Kingdom of Kastal experiencing the dangers of the demons lurking in the woods the most?

Wilfred silenced on Viktor's words. Elder Trent and Trent, which appeared in the Kingdom of Castal, were the demons of the great trees, scattered in the woods. There is a history of Trent's actions dividing the army and failing to take control. It's not like there are any other demons besides vampires who can simulate something.

"So you attract demons to the realm."

"Exactly. And lure demons into places that are easy for us to fight.... There may be a rebellion, but if you squeeze your hand here, there will be more damage. We can never be defeated by demons."

Viktor was a voice without discouragement. Around him it seemed like he was pushing and killing emotions again. Looks like that prompted Wilfred to make a decision.

"Mm-hmm. We can't allow demons to behave on their own in our human territory any more. And even if we're going to be behind this, we have to take the lead. We have no choice but to get on His Majesty Viktor's suggestion here. His Majesty Rosline. I hear that the northern part of the Union of Communes is in the midst of reconstruction. It is not easy to escort and evacuate the people to the south. Kastal will help guide the evacuation, but how about that?"

"That being the case, the Weixel Empire is currently maintaining law and order in the northern part of the Commune and providing support for reconstruction. It would be less disruptive for the people if our army were to provide escorts for the people. I wonder, Your Majesty."

Viktor gently blocked Wilfred's offer with people's favorite smile. For a moment, Viktor and Wilfred's gaze intersect. Viktor stays flat, but only a few tensions run. But only a very few noticed it.

"Does sending new troops from other countries to make the people nervous cause unnecessary confusion?"

"Right. Viktor, please."

"Accepted. I promise you that I will ensure the evacuation of the people of the Commune to a safe land."

"We can't just burden the Weixel Empire. Let's get ready to set up a garrison."

"It would help if you could do that. We must hurry to organize the army and select candidates for the garrison."

Viktor looked around at the two, and the leaders of both countries nodded.

"And the problem is you're a demon lurking in the realm. We're not taking any major action right now, but we might be hiding ourselves like vampires."

For the first time here the Pope opened his mouth. National leaders also cloud their faces a little.

"I wish I could have captured the vampire leader and pulled the information out. Fortunately, measures have been taken against vampires, but the head of the vampire has yet to be discovered. Perhaps the head of the vampire who decided he had failed is lurking back in the base or in an unpopular land. Vampires aren't the only demons lurking in it. It's easy to lurk if you're simulating yourself in a way that you can't even notice around you like Trent."

Roslene dropped her shoulder. The girl believed to be the head of the vampire who caused the tragedy in Clermont has disappeared from the royal palace before the Roslines recaptured Clermont. There is also confusion that vampires have taken over the royal palace, and no news of the girl is known as such.

"I'm sorry. If Clermont's control had been a little quicker, he might have been able to capture the chief."

"Sorry, I think I misled you. That's not much of a commune's downfall. Caused by vampires being more cunning than expected. Your Majesty Roslyne doesn't need to be disturbed."

"We still don't know if there are demons lurking in the realm. Thoughtful and cautious attitude may be an important qualities as a king, but there is no choice but to be overly cautious and overly concerned. You should do your best to prevent a recurrence than that. We should be more vigilant in the realm so that whatever action the demon takes can be immediately detected. This has to be done in Castals and Vixels as well. It's not necessarily just the Commune that the demon is after next."

"Oh man, it's a headache story. Demonic thoughts are different from human beings. I can't predict what I'm going to think and act on, and it doesn't end well."

The bitter vibe soothes just a little bit on the bitter Viktor. In moderately relaxed tension that way, Viktor gradually quenched his grin.

"But what do the demons think and act on?"

"After all, isn't the goal of annihilating human beings? Demons who obey evil gods and do evil deeds are basically incompatible with us humans."

The Pope makes his reasoning, but Viktor shook his head.

"It's a little out of line with what I'm wondering, under. I don't know what purpose this series of demonic actions has."

"I see. I see the concern of His Majesty Viktor. So you can't read the demons' strategy, huh?

Viktor nodded at Wilfred's inquiry.

"Sire Roslyne, would Clermont have sent any large quantities of supplies to the north of the Commune before it was occupied by vampires?

"No, there are no such reports"

While questioning Viktor's sudden question, Roslene answers. I haven't even heard such a story where Clermont had a vampire yet.

"Hmm, still. Vampires occupied Clermont almost at the same time as demons attacked our country. When I checked the northern part of the commune, I didn't see any such signs, so I thought there was something else in the demon unit."

"What does that mean?"

Roslene questions Viktor's intentions.

"The demon that has attacked our country. Griffon bombarded from the sky with explosive stones to sweep off the ground, and a strong demon with thick skin attacked him with a tactic to dominate the ground. Fortunately, the invasion stopped in Brandenburg, but if the invasion could not be stopped, it would not have been surprising if it had been invaded near the capital of the Weixel Empire."

But Viktor takes a breath and continues the conversation.

"We invaded deep into the enemy land. Explosive stones are made by alchemy. It is not something that can be done naturally. Moreover, it seems to consume a considerable amount to destroy the walls and fortifications. It is more expendable than it is, and if it is not replenished every time it is raided, it will be depleted. But it is not easy to replenish on enemy land. Without an explosive stone, the effectiveness of that tactic would be halved. In this case, as it moves to the center, the supply line will be extended and one day it will become broken (soldering). No matter how much demons are stronger than humans, as soon as supplies run out, we'll have to follow the path of ruin."

"We use unknown demons and tactics, but demons are demons. We were bound by such stereotypes, but supply is imperative if we consider ourselves as an army in another country. It is the stones that secure the supply line and march on. I see. Sometimes the demons are no different from our human army."

Wilfred also understood what Viktor was trying to say.

"Whatever demons that looked like beasts, such as Griffon, would use explosive stones in the first place, it would be impossible to manufacture them themselves. I have to replenish it somewhere. I thought vampires might have taken over the Commune, but it still didn't seem the same."

"We haven't supplied supplies from the commune where the vampires were. There was a supply coming from the demonic base in the north. That's what I'm saying."

Demons marched from the northeast of the Weixel Empire. If supplies were to be replenished outside the Commune, it could only be assumed that supplies had been replenished from the north under the elimination method, in relation to geography.

"As long as demonic strongholds exist, we must always remain frightened by demonic raids. National defenses are also important, but in parallel, we need to find out where the demons are based, and we need to turn down the aftermath."

A twitch occurs from the perimeter. Until now, I couldn't read the demon's behavior and had to turn to the back. In it, Viktor proposes to take the lead here and launch an attack on the demons. For mankind, which has been hit so well by demons, it inspired depressing (grumpy) thoughts that were slightly dull in the chest.

"Think of an expedition to the north. But isn't that premature? Currently there is a situation where even the defence of each country is irresistible. Shouldn't we give priority to putting in place a defence system and then move on to action?"

Wilfred disputed whether he felt the ambient heat or sprinkled cold water.

"Of course I'm not going to get out of defense. And no matter how much you say you attack, scout first to see if there's a demon base. It is only analogy from the circumstances that demonic strongholds are north. We haven't even been able to locate the base. But shouldn't demon strongholds be reconnaissance in order to explore demonic trends? Heritage tells us that mankind has set foot in the land of the North with other races in order to fight evil gods. Is there no material left with information about the North, such as a map at that time?

"There are still a number of ancient documents managed by the Church. But many ancient documents with the kind of information the emperor wants have disappeared in a long history, and not enough. And since the days when we fought against evil gods, none of us have set foot on the northern earth. So much has changed, and no matter how much material is left, we can still guess."

"I mean, even if we're going on an expedition, we don't even know if it's the right terrain for military operations. Too much mankind lacks information about demons. Let's also influence future strategies against demons. So I'd like to move on with my reconnaissance alone."

Viktor glanced over the round table to ask for his consent. Relatively agreeing with Victor's idea is about the Pope, and Wilfred and Roslene have a faint reaction. Most of all, their condition was taken by the wind, which was only trying to calmly identify Viktor's proposal rather than to deny it.

"Besides, depending on the circumstances, I wonder if we need to find out where the demon is based as soon as possible. If there is an evil god there,"

The same expression hardens and silence falls on the round table.

"Elder Trent, who attacked Castal, is me the evil god. The Golem that attacked the Commune is a demon created by the hands of the Evil God. Should we assume that the Evil God is still resurrected"

The Pope shook his head at Rosline's question.

"I don't know. But if the evil god had been resurrected, it would have happened."

"If it's as inherited, God and other races, and men, have joined forces to challenge it and somehow seal it."

Roslyne's words did not go on. Unlike in the past of the Divine Age, in modern times the other races were reduced in number and the gods hid themselves. The giant golem could have been defeated with the help of the dragon, Vuivre, but could it have been defeated if only by human power?

If the Evil God is resurrected, is there a winning eye for mankind? I could not continue my pessimistic words as a king.

It was no other Wilfred who struck down that bitter air.

"But we have a Virgin who obtained the 'protection of God'. And the young heroes. Their activity will never take hold of the heroes who fought evil with the gods before in the Divine Age."

Heroes appeared in the modern age as if to counter the demonic threat that ensued. Marie Alexia von Zavalish of the Weixel Empire. Oliver, who belongs to the Orthodox Church in the Kingdom of Castall, and Kaios, an exotic magician.

Their presence will be a glimmer of light in a future in which dark clouds can set in. But the reactions of the leaders of the nations and of the Pope were slightly different from those of the surroundings full of hope.

Each of them has a different look on their face. Rosline was bitter, Viktor was stunned, and the Pope was puzzled. Although it was too different from the surrounding reactions, none of the three of them noticed a change in expression because they immediately disguised their expressions as calm again.

"Perhaps the gods have given us new power for our people."

Viktor smiled with a soft feel and tuned in to Wilfred's words. The Virgin, who obtained the "blessing of God", is an aristocrat of the Weixel Empire. It is not a strange story that the emperor gives special attention and praise to his country's heroes.

Rather, it would be the Pope's reaction to be taken as a wonder. The Pope has a hard and ambiguous smile. The church-certified Virgin is supposed to be God's grace, but her expression is somewhere distressing.

"Right. But don't just burden your heroes. The battle against demons should take our hands together and overcome our difficulties. After the evil gods were sealed and the world was at peace, the gods hid themselves. It must have been thought that being wielded on earth with a power as powerful as the Evil God would have a negative effect on this world. This is a test imposed on the living and living not to rely on the gods, but to become independent. That test must be overcome with our hands."

In the Pope's words Wilfred showed understanding and nodded in small pieces. The Pope was concerned about the attitude of relying only on the heroes, and he told each one of them. No matter how powerful a hero is to transcend people's knowledge, they are just individuals.

If they fail to help themselves and rely on the hero, the human being becomes helpless when they fall. If man despairs and stops resisting, he will forgive the ravages of demons.

"Their power is necessary to fight demons, but we must not rely on them alone. With our hands we must retreat from the tyranny of the demons and restore peace."

Wilfred received the Pope's statement.

"Then you can send scouts north, right?

We snort together. Then the conversation moved to practice, and the meeting ended.

After the meeting, when he was alone, the Pope erased people's fond laughter.

He was stunned by the thickness of Wilfred's trust in his heroes. Of course, it's no wonder Wilfred feels grateful for Kaios, who defeated the demon he pushed over in large numbers. But the queen of the Union of Communes, who saved her misery by acting together, did not think that the king of the Kingdom of Qatar was buying so many heroes.

Of course the church knows that Wilfred was looking for Caios. I recognized that was only to hear the circumstances from him, knowing more about the gratitude and Elder Trent that had saved the army's predicament.

Why is there a difference in the Church's perception so far?

That's because of Kaios' assessment in the Kingdom of Kastal.

Although he is famous as a hero, the nobles' impression of him is not very good. To them, Kaios is an unidentified frigid magician. Although it was Kastal's dignitaries who behaved disrespectfully earlier, his provocative attitude at the sight also bought the nobles' hives.

By the way, Kaios for the average person has a strong aspect as a mysterious magician who has achieved merit in Elder Trent's crusade, one way or another close to curiosity.

The King thought that his impression of Kaios was not as bad as that of the nobles because of his response, but he thought it was only an external courtesy to be taken and that his heart was different.

If this is a true hero, it is fine, but all those heroes have gained strength through the use of secret techniques and distorted phenomena. The heroes get the world's attention, and if they find out about the secret art, it's not favorable for the Church.

After all, it was outrageous that the Church of the Weixel Empire had certified Alexia as a Virgin, not realizing that the 'blessing of God' was a bluff. Although the Pope, who knows the secret art, is not involved, that is not considered externally, and it is difficult to withdraw what the Church has certified once. Not to mention that Alexia is active in the fight against demons. The surroundings will not be convinced unless she even wakes up in a major breakdown.

When it comes to faulty behavior, the Virgin, who was supposed to have gained the protection of God, was defeated by Kaios, but the Weixel Empire has laid down a decree and completely covered it up. And when the truth is revealed, it is no longer a later festival, and even if it can be withdrawn, the strength of the hero's trust in Kaios will remain unchanged. This only undermines the authority of the Church and worsens relations with the Weixel Empire and the Union of Communes.

Sometimes the Church accredited Alexia as the Virgin because there were clerics and popular support who were witnessing her work in Brandenburg and the occasions when she gained the 'protection of God'. There is a lot of significance in boosting the will of the faithful to curb their anxiety and hope, as well as supporting the great name of the Weixel Empire in its attack on the Union of the Communes. This was not intended to be an invasion of the Weixel Empire, but only to destroy the Union of Communes, which supposedly gave it to demons.

But far beyond the thought of the Church, the hero, who should have been a symbol, is beginning to have a deeper and more profound influence on nations than he could have imagined.

I reserved for him to remain vigilant because Kaios' purpose was unknown, but maybe the church just didn't grasp it. In fact, gradually he was moving on, and things were getting worse. The Pope wonders if this situation is not even the result he wanted. I was wondering if it would be okay to stay like this.

Oliver, who is watching Kaios, has acted with him before and is beginning to question his role. I don't expect Oliver to flip an anti-flag at the church, but if asked if he was fit to be a watchdog, I would remain anxious.

"Should we still have another surveillance?"

I can't leave it to Oliver alone. The Pope reconsidered that surveillance should be tightened thoroughly, although he had limited the number of surveillance so as not to alarm his opponents.

Organized and dominated demons are also a threat, but the mysterious magician who steadily consolidates the ground is more of a threat to the Church and humanity.

I should have just beaten down the evil demons, or been a hero as a symbol. But heroes are different now. Appearing conveniently in demonic raids, the appearance is beneficial to mankind. Behind it is a cunning, creepy magician who spins his measures. Can you call that a true hero?

"There is no need for mankind to be a hero of deception."

If the hero of the devil twists and bends reason and becomes vicious against humanity, the Church will not allow the existence of the hero of the devil. Because it is the duty of the Church more determined than it was in ancient times.
